CHAPTER NINE

Just as Kevin’s butt touched chair, Kate responded indifferently,

“Sorry, I’m saving this seat for Jessica.”

“Huh!? I thought Jessica was sitting over there”

Kevin pointed to the beautiful woman sitting seven or eight seats away from them. His face was full of confusion.

Kate frowned and looked very unhappy. She raised her hands and covered her nose and said in a muffled voice,

“You sort of stink and I feel so uncomfortable. Can I please change seats?”

Kevin was stunned. He raised his arms and sniffed his armpit area, it didn’t smell. He had just changed before coming to the re-union.

“This woman must have problems with her nose.”

Kevin thought to himself.

“Kevin! You haven’t taken a shower for few days, have you?”

One of the guys asked

A female classmate sitting next to him quickly said,

“Kevin c’mon now, I’ll change seats with you. Don’t make the beauty breathe in bad air so she will be able to eat.”

Kevin didn’t want to talk but at that time his old friend, Zach walked over and pulled him to other corner he was sitting at,

“Look Kevin, Kate is not the type of woman you can get close to. You are asking for trouble! C’mon, we haven’t seen each other for a long time… let’s have a drink.”

Kevin turned around and looked at Kate who was talking and laughing with Tyler. He shook his head and sneered.

He picked a glass and clicked it with Zach.

The two of them drink like there was no one else around…

The two of them were the only ones who treated each other with sincerity back then.

When Zach faced bullying, Kevin emerged as the sole defender who confronted the bullies, forging a bond between them that only grew stronger thereafter.

As the drinks began to flow, some of the mates suggested they all play music, dance together and play games or something.

Most people remembered that Kate had been a fabulous dancer since school so they started to cheer her on and let the future big star put on a show for everyone.

Kate’s beautiful face was flushed which added to the already intoxicating atmosphere of the re-union. She got up and walked to the dance floor, moving her body slowly to the music.

Her bright sparkling eyes swept across everyone in the room. Her slender waist moved quickly then more slowly, her entire body dancing like softly flowing water. It was particularly charming and all the male students were impressed.

One of them unconsciously gasped and wondered,

“Stunning! She is too beautiful. Kate is even more attractive than she was back in school.”

The gathering finally ended as the class president and class teacher gave their short speech.

When Kate got up to leave, several of their classmates rushed to say goodbye and offered her a ride in their fancy cars.

In the end, they were all disappointed as Kate said she already had a car and the driver was already waiting outside.

Everyone watched Kate get into the latest Aston Martin DB11 as her driver drove away.

Zach saw the Aston Martin DB11 turn around and could not help but whisper to Kevin,

“Kate is so beautiful! I would give five million just to sleep with her once…”

Kevin smirked and just as he was about to say something, his phone rang in his pocket

“Flying to the moon….”

That was his ringing tone and everybody around mocked him,

 Someone said,

“Why would he use such an old song for his ringing tone? This guy’s weird…”

Kevin took out his phone and when he saw that the caller was his wife, he smiled and answered the call

Lily asked him,

“Did you buy the clothes I asked you to get for the gathering? You know what? Just make sure you take care of that. We’ll meet at home.”

“That was cold…”

Kevin thought

After the she hung up the phone, only then did Kevin remember that he had not bought the clothes.

He quickly exchanged contacts with Zach and rode away in his little scooter.

The women who saw him laughed out,

“Oh my God… Kevin actually rode a tiny scooter to attend the get-together. Hahaha. Do you think he will run out of goose before he gets there?”

They burst into laughter

Even though Kevin was far away, he could still hear them clearly.

On the other side of town, Lily was about to leave the office when a man in a black suit suddenly appeared in front of her with a gift box in his hand.

“You are?”

Lily said as she looked at the unfamiliar man in front of her with a puzzled expression

The man in the suit handed the box to Lily and said politely,

“This is a gift for you from our boss”

At this time, two of Lily’s assistant walked over and looked curiously at the man and the gift box in his hands,

“Wow! Madam Chairman, a gift from an admirer!”

Lily glared at them and pretended to be angry,

“Don’t talk nonsense… I don’t have any suitors.”

Lily turned to look at the man in the suit and hesitated for a moment before she took the boss,

“Who is your boss?”

The man replied,

“Sorry but the boss said he hopes you can guess his identity. He gifts this to you personally and I hope that you have a good time tonight.”

After saying that, he turned around and left.

Lily looked at the gift box in her hand and finally decided to open it to see what it was.

When she opened it she was instantly shocked.

The two assistants beside her could not help but to take a peek at the gift,

“Oh my God… this is the DreamLover!”

The real necklace sparkled in the light

“Oh my god… there are only ten DreamLovers in the world. Madam Chairman, your admirer is so generous!”

Lily could tell at a glance that this was the real DreamLover. She had always piqued interest in the necklace and had researched everything related to it.

The one she was holding in her hands was definitely genuine.

Lily looked at the DreamLover that was lying in the gift box and felt it was surreal.

Was she dreaming?

Who exactly gave it to her?

Could it be…? Blakely?

But even to Blakely, the DreamLover was still out of reach.

Could it be that he really liked her so much that he gave all his savings to buy her the jewelry?

Thinking of this, Lily couldn’t help but feel very moved in her heart.

If she wore the necklace to tonight’s get-together, she would definitely become the envy of all the women in the family.

Lily felt her heart skip with even more excitement.
