Chapter 3: Going Home

Finally, Julia was the first to react.

She rushed to help Steven get up, her eyes filled with concern as she asked, "Steven, are you okay?"

Both of Steven's eyes were red with anger and pain, the veins on his neck and forehead bulging, giving him a somewhat frightening appearance.

He pushed Julia aside, gritting his teeth. "Move!"

Julia fell to the ground, her face immediately showing anger.

At this point, Steven didn't pay attention to her and growled, "Why are you all just standing there? Hurry up and beat him for me. Beat him to death if you have to!"

His followers immediately reacted, looking towards Alex, their eyes showing a hint of hesitation.

Finally, someone spoke up, "We have three people. There's nothing to be afraid of!"

These words seemed to give additional strength to the others.

They exchanged glances for a moment, then collectively rushed towards Alex.

In the end, it was a scene that Julia and the others never expected.

Alex lifted his foot and kicked one of Steve's followers in the chin.

The follower winced from the pain, but before he could react, Alex leaped and kicked him again in the chest, sending him flying and crashing into nearby tables, unable to get up.

Alex spun around, jumped, and landed a kick on another person.

That person was pinned down by Alex's weight, eyes rolling back in a faint.

Who could have expected that Alex could jump so high? It was truly beyond human!

Seeing two others already defeated, the remaining person couldn't help but want to retreat, but Alex didn't give him a chance.

He raised his foot and executed a swift kick from behind, and the person immediately flew, tumbling on the ground, clutching his chest and howling in pain, unable to stand up.

Throughout this process, Alex didn't even lift a hand, using just one foot to take down three people!

For a moment, the dining hall was filled with the sounds of groans and cries.

At this point, footsteps echoed, and Alex walked towards Julia and Steven.

Julia looked at Alex and felt that the person in front of her was not the Alex she knew.

She jumped back, madly retreating.

But Steven, still on the ground, suddenly roared, "Alex, you must know who I am. Let me tell you, if you dare do anything to me today, you'll definitely be expelled. Don't even think about studying in this school anymore! Your future will be crushed by me. Someone like you deserves... Ah!"

Before he could finish speaking, Alex lifted his foot, delivering a kick to Steven's face.

Steven was immediately kicked to the floor, his face colliding with the cold tiles, contorting in pain.

Alex continued to twist his foot, causing Steven to cry out, "Alex, I won't forgive you. Just wait to die, Alex!"

Alex looked down at him, a cold voice saying, "You should remain silent if you don't want to die, Steven. I'm not in a good mood right now."

It sounded like a whispered threat from hell, chilling to the bone.

Steven trembled, lips sealed, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

Now, Alex turned his gaze to Julia, who was sitting on the side, and said in a low voice, "Now, are you going to return the jade ring to me?"

Julia shivered, feeling the coldness in Alex's pale blue eyes penetrating her soul.

She quickly took off the bracelet from her wrist and handed it to Alex, saying, "Here, take it..."

Alex took the bracelet from Julia's hand before calmly walking away.

At this point, Steven, regaining his courage, shouted from behind Alex, "Alex, I won't forgive you, you scum!"

The guy's voice echoed in the distance, but Alex paid no attention. His lips even curved up a bit.

Waiting for the dungeons to appear, where strength would be everything, it remained to be seen who would spare whom.

Alex descended to the first floor slowly.

As he reached the bottom, he felt countless eyes from those inside the dining hall staring at him.

Seeing him, they automatically made way, even casting incredulous looks at him as if meeting him for the first time.

Alex ignored their gazes and headed back to class.

Of course, he had no intention of continuing his studies; after all, there were only two months left until the explosive dungeons, and he needed to strengthen himself rather than waste time in class.

He also had no intention of spreading this news to anyone; no one would believe him, and they might even consider him insane.

Alex didn't want to invite trouble.

Seeing his confident figure, the people behind couldn't help but gossip.

They couldn't be blamed for their astonishment; who would have thought that the seemingly ordinary Alex could single-handedly take down four others?

This news would surely shake the school.

While his classmates buzzed with unrest, Alex took his books and headed home.

Under the sunlight, his eyes seemed to gleam.

His steps were slow and leisurely, the fire in his eyes impossible to conceal.

He had returned! This time, nothing would stop him from surviving in this world!

.

Alex's home was a rented one, a shabby level-four house within the slum area.

Many people lived here, each with their own difficulties or, in some cases, due to laziness.

However, one undeniable fact was that the living conditions here were truly terrible.

Alex pulled up his face mask a bit higher and returned home at the fastest speed.

It wasn't until the door of his rented room closed that he could quietly exhale, accompanied by a sense of fatigue.

His feet were a bit sore, as even the current him didn't frequently engage in physical activity.

A single-minded focus on studying, combined with the recent excessive movement, made his body a bit achy.

Alex exhaled, feeling a bit sluggish.

He tossed his bag aside and glanced at his somewhat familiar yet unfamiliar room, then suddenly laughed and flopped onto the bed.

It was truly comfortable; he had come back to life!

No matter how many times he thought about it, it made him extremely happy!

Alex held his own gemstone bracelet and raised it high.

The light shining on the bracelet couldn't make it appear more valuable than it was.

As he had mentioned, this wasn't some heirloom for a future wife.

Still, this bracelet had been with him since he was a child, from the time he was picked up by the orphanage director when he was just a newborn baby.

Back then, he had nothing on him except for this bracelet.

Alex smiled faintly, then suddenly sat up, examining the bracelet as if searching for something.

In his previous life, after the dungeons exploded, Julia and Steven lived prosperous lives, dominating in the dungeons.

Later on, Alex discovered that it was because of this bracelet of his.

Inside the bracelet was a spacious dimension.

By transporting large quantities of items in dungeons for hired mercenaries, Julia earned high wages and became highly sought after.

After his rebirth, Alex naturally didn't want this to happen again; what was his should return to him.

However, the current issue was that he didn't know how to open the dimension.

Alex pursed his lips, suddenly closed his eyes, and muttered, "Dimension, open!"

... everything remained strangely silent.

Alex: "..."

Alex couldn't believe that he couldn't open the dimension.

He frowned, saying, "Gemstone, open!"

"Open sesame?"

"Magic gem..."

The more Alex spoke, the more foolish he felt.

He frowned, finally doing nothing more than hugging the gemstone bracelet to his chest and going to sleep.

Whether it was because of the rebirth or not, his body was truly sore and tired, and his mind was a bit fuzzy.

Alex tightly grasped the bracelet in his hand, his eyes dimming.

Before losing consciousness entirely, he silently thought that sooner or later, he would find a way to open the dimension inside the gemstone, no need to rush...

.

It was a beautiful day when humanity still lived according to normal rules under the blue sky.

Suddenly, lightning cracked across the sky, and strange black gates appeared.

There were only four gates in key locations on the continent for the first time.

Above these gates were countdown numbers reaching zero.

This strange phenomenon attracted the attention of countless people.

However, when the number reached zero, the nightmare officially began.
