Chapter 4: Suddenly Gaining Special Abilities!

Some people noticed that the person standing next to them suddenly illuminated and was then sucked into the gate, disappearing without a trace.

At the same time, different numbers appeared above the gate, and over time, these numbers began to decrease.

It took a long time for people to realize that these numbers represented the count of individuals pulled into the dungeon.

As the numbers decreased, it meant that more people had died.

And until the count reached zero, another random selection process would begin, forcibly taking those nearby into the dungeon to fulfill a mission.

Initially, people thought that staying away from the gate would prevent them from being pulled into the dungeon.

And they were right... However, death came in a different way.

When no one entered the dungeon to complete the mission, the monsters inside would overflow and start wreaking havoc and slaughtering.

High-rise dragons, or giant eagles with sharp spikes on their backs...

Creatures of different levels, some attacking individually and some forming flocks to attack.

However, the commonality among them was their ferocity and bloodthirstiness.

The city suffered unprecedented casualties.

Finally, after a chaotic battle lasting more than two weeks, the massacre was reluctantly pushed back by the heroes of the nation or those who suddenly awakened special, powerful abilities.

Those who awakened special abilities were called Supernatural Entities. A new era unfolded...

Alex opened his eyes and found himself floating above the ruined city.

The city's appearance was no different from the early days when the dungeon first appeared.

Could it be that he had returned?

Alex pinched himself—it didn't hurt. This must be a dream.

But the main issue was why he hadn't woken up despite realizing that it was a dream.

At that moment, the space in front of Alex suddenly twisted, and the city disintegrated as if blown away like a handful of sand.

In an instant, the ground beneath Alex turned into a glass surface.

The sky was a mystical, dark night with sparkling stars.

Alex tried to step on the glass surface, and with each step, it rippled as if it were water.

It was strange, Alex thought.

At this moment, a source of light in the distance caught Alex's attention.

He squinted, slowly approaching, and only then did he see that it was a book floating in mid-air!

The book emitted a faint yellow light, especially dazzling in this space.

The book was frantically flipping open and closed without any wind, its pages fluttering.

Truly miraculous. Alex couldn't help but say, "Is it you who brought me here?"

However, no one answered his question.

The book suddenly brightened as he approached, its pages wildly flipping open.

A bright spot flew out of the book and rapidly approached Alex's forehead.

Alex touched his forehead, his eyes showing suspicion.

He opened his mouth to speak, but he suddenly woke up before he could say anything.

A new knowledge appeared in his mind.

It is a book, a book written about the adventure to become the strongest and save the world of a person named Lucifer.

Watching the entire book, Alex's sole impression of the person referred to as Lucifer is that this person is incredibly powerful!

The notable thing is that the world hypothesis and everything in this book align with the world he is currently living in!

Furthermore, Lucifer...

In his previous life, he had also heard of this name until he died, and this name had only reached the title of a nocturnal wanderer.

A solitary warrior with no comrades, not joining any faction, yet so powerful that no one could do anything to him.

Alex silently swallowed, blinked, looked towards the book in front of him, and muttered unbelievably: "Is this the story of the world we're living in?"

The silent space only had the book emitting a faint light; no one could answer Alex's question.

Alex furrowed his brow suddenly advanced, wanting to flip open the book.

He was genuinely curious about his role in this world.

The book seemed to sense his thoughts, crazily flipping open, turning to the first few pages.

At the same time, the yellow-colored text also appeared in front of Alex.

"... the moment strange creatures poured out from the gate, the entire city plunged into chaos. Everything was destroyed under the fire, screams of agony echoed everywhere, marking the beginning of chaos..."

Alex muttered, reading a passage aloud, a hint of disbelief on his face.

So, is he the one who will die in the first chapter of the story?

Too absurd! Alex furrowed his brow; obviously, he wasn't satisfied with this answer.

After all, he had lived for years and even heard of one of Lucifer's early titles.

There's no way he would be the earliest to die!

Alex frowned, feeling that this book was somewhat unreliable.

Instinctively, he turned away, although he didn't know how to leave this space.

But gradually, he felt the space in front of him blur; perhaps he was about to leave this place...

The book floated behind Alex, turning into a small bright spot.

A sudden sound echoed in the silent space: "I only hope that this world on the brink of ruin can truly be saved. This is the last chance..."

That solitary sound blended into the night, unheard and uncomprehended by anyone.

Alex opened his eyes abruptly, then quickly closed them again.

The dazzling light from outside shone in, causing a slight pain in his eyes.

He sat up from the bed, and until now, he still felt that his recent dream was truly too absurd.

Just as Alex thought so, a stream of yellow light suddenly appeared in front of him.

It was clearly the book from his dream!

But now it no longer wildly flipped open, silently floating in the air.

Alex blinked: "Why are you here?"

The book remained silent in the air, and Alex didn't expect it to respond; he just rubbed his head tiredly.

The book had followed him here, so was the content in the book real?

Thinking about this, Alex immediately furrowed his brow.

Regardless, the content in the book couldn't become reality!

He had lived a life again; he could live for six years in his previous life.

He couldn't believe that in this life, he would be buried in flames!

At this moment, the sound of machinery suddenly echoed.

Alex hadn't even had time to be astonished before he saw a translucent board floating in front of him.

[Supernatural Entity: Alex

Skill Level: ???

...

Ability: Divine Pen

Ability Level: Rank L (legendary)

Current Level of Ability: Rank F (quickly level up!)

Ability Note: What you draw will become reality! Come on,

show your talent, the unwilling young artist!]

Alex: "..."

Alex: "!!!"

Alex rubbed his eyes, blinked frantically, and couldn't resist pinching himself.

What on earth is happening?! He somehow acquired a special ability!

It should be noted that in his previous life, he had never awakened any special ability until his death!

Alex looked towards the book, which was still floating beside him, his eyes sparkling.

All the unusual things happened when this book appeared; he had a reasonable suspicion that this book was the key to him gaining a special ability!

Although he couldn't confirm anything at the moment, Alex couldn't help but hug the floating book beside him and say, "I'm sure I won't die in flames!"

At this moment, Alex also paid attention to the level of this ability.

It belonged to Rank L—Rank L! Wasn't that stronger than Rank S?

Alex felt as if he were floating on clouds.

Even though the current level of the ability was only F, someday in the future, he could strive to reach Rank L.

Although this might be a bit difficult, Alex just needed to imagine it and feel happy.

Anyway, his mind belonged to him, and he had the right to fantasize!

After a while, Alex became serious; he wanted to see how his ability worked.

With just a thought, a feathered pen appeared in Alex's hand.

The pen seemed very simple, with a wooden brown shaft and a bit of black ink on the nib, as if ready to start drawing at any moment.

Alex couldn't help but furrow his brow slightly; the current issue was where he should draw.

A roll of paper appeared in front of Alex as if he had just thought about it.
