"Ancient Egyptians? Where's that?" Quentin asked.
The Kingdom of Ancient Egypt is a foreign name for Quentin; he never knew other kingdoms. Arryn was confused about what to explain to him, but what was certain was that the two of them were already in different worlds.
"Somewhere. It isn't easy to explain. But, what is clear is that we are in a different world from Athanor," Arryn replied.
"If we look at what we're experiencing right now, your power is likely something like dimensional magic," Quentin replied, folding his arms as he watched the workers under the pyramid-shaped building.
"Dimensional magic?" Arryn asked. He had just heard the magic name, so it was natural for him to feel confused about the meaning of the magic name.
"A special and rare magic, it is said that it is also difficult to control. That magic can penetrate the boundaries of space to create portals between places," explained Quentin.
Quentin suddenly crouched down, holding the sand in his right hand while carefully feeling the place's temperature.
He classified Arryn's power into a type of dimensional magic due to the same system, which was to move one object to another using a dimensional portal.
However, the dimensional magic that Quentin knew was magic that could only move objects in the same world, not to a different world like Arryn.
"It's strange. Dimensional magic won't be able to go to a different world," Quentin whispered as his eyes continued to stare ahead at the half-finished building.
Quentin stood up and turned around, walking towards Arryn, who he thought was bestowed with an unknown power. Quentin asks Arryn to bring them back to their original world.
Arryn nodded. He immediately raised his hands, forming a cross in front of his chest, and directly extended forward.
[Summoning System: Two Different Worlds]
He rotated his outstretched right hand clockwise until he created a white cloud portal connected to Athanor.
"Are you sure this portal is connected to our home world?" worried Quentin.
"I was a bit hesitant, but according to my experience, I managed to return by casting the same magic spell," explained Arryn.
Quentin was silent for a while until he reached the courage to walk into the portal. He was already prepared for the consequences, but he saw a familiar location in his memory in the end.
They arrived at the shore of a large lake with dazzling blue water. Around the lake, they can see the settlements of villagers with all their activities, such as washing and drying clothes, fishing, and talking to each other.
"We really are back," Quentin explained, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Do you know this place?" Arryn asked. Quentin nodded slowly.
"I used this place a lot to practice water elemental magic when I was an Archmage," Quentin replied.
Quentin raised his hand, waving at a villager he recognized. Arryn just remained silent, smiling when they also looked at him too.
Quentin's hand clasped Arryn's shoulder, asking him to be ready. Quentin always said that if he brought someone into his teleportation, he realized that the pressure of space and time would significantly impact Arryn's body.
"Preparing for what?" Arryn asked, confused.
In the blink of an eye, Quentin had moved from the lakeshore to his study. The distance was far enough to make Arryn's head dizzy until the young man vomited on Quentin's study floor.
"Your body's resistance to changes in the pressure of space and time is still lacking. Therefore, you need to get a mage class so that your abilities can be trained," Quentin explained.
He walked over to his wooden workbench while taking a short wand. Arryn saw that the wand was the same as the wand used by the mage below.
Quentin used to use a wand not because all his magic was in the wand but because he needed a tool to control his immense magic power to not harm those around him.
"About the class selection? I have no idea. I'm afraid my class doesn't match my power," Arryn explained, terrified.
"Class selection this time will be done in this tower. There's a special room usually used for leveling up, but it can also be used for class selection," Quentin, getting ready with his robes.
"How will this selection determine the class a person belongs to?" asked Arryn.
"The class selection system in Obelisk is based on the character's status. Therefore, if he allocates many status points to several specific statuses, then the possibility of getting the appropriate class will be even greater," replied Quentin, explaining the flow of class selection that Arryn will do.
Arryn nodded while clearing his throat a few times. Then, he began to walk, following Quentin, who stepped out of his study. Sage Quentin was seen stepping towards the stairs to go down to the lower floor, the sixth floor, to be exact.
"So, I can be sure I will get a mage class?" Arryn asked, excited.
"Not yet certain. It is only a possibility, not a certainty. You can't ignore other small possibilities," explained Quentin, moving on with the occasional Arryn seeing some of the people working at the Obelisk addressing Quentin as 'Master Sage'.
Arryn arrived at a room similar to a circular match area, without a door, with eight pillars in each cardinal direction.
Arryn saw Quentin walk up to the room's second floor and was greeted by some of the people who worked there. In the centre of the room, a stone seemed to glow blue, like a crystal ball.
The shape is indented into a circle, which adds material when level-up is done. However, this time, Quentin only added two level five blue crystals to place on top of the stone.
Surprisingly, the floor of the room Arryn stepped on was brightly blue. Arryn didn't feel any pain. In fact, he felt like a cool breeze came to refresh his body.
[Extend Summoning System: Main Class Selection]
Quentin immediately placed his wand on the rock, to be precise, between the two crystal stones that he had deliberately set to the right and left. Instantly the blue light began to mix with other lights, such as red and green.
"What's going on?" Arryn asked curiously.
"The system in this place is currently choosing a class for you. The three lights represent each available class," Quentin explained.
"Blue for Mage, Red for Knight, and Green for Fighter," Quentin continued.
"What would happen if the system had chosen a class for me?" Arryn asked curiously.
Quentin walked away from the stone to reach a place near the fence on the top floor, "The floor you are on will continue to shine with a certain colour for a long time. That means the system has chosen a class for you."
"You'd better close your eyes. There will be another more tiring stage," asked Quentin. As a result, Arryn immediately agreed with what the man said.
Arryn's eyes closed as he followed Quentin's orders. However, the sage said Arryn could only open his eyes if Quentin commanded him.
Suddenly it made Arryn curious, and he tried to peek through his slightly opened eyes. However, Quentin learns of Arryn's try and scolds the young man for not being honest.
"If you don't believe me, I'll leave you!" Quentin threatened.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again," Arryn said, feeling sorry for what he had done.
It was apparent that the crystalline material had started to disappear as if it had evaporated from the heat, in contrast to Quentin's wand, which had not changed. Quentin's reason for placing the two crystals was to help the system identify the class selection participants' goals.
Level five blue crystals can help increase INT by 200 per crystal. Arryn's INT status will be supported by 400 in this selection by using two crystals.
Arryn was quiet for a long time, closing his eyes. The floor Arryn was standing on continued to emit all three colours randomly, making Quentin anxious at the little possibility he was thinking of.
Green is no longer visible. Now, only red and blue seem to be competing to determine the class for Arryn. Arryn and Quentin's hearts were both pounding with worry; now, the odds were 50:50.
The light on the floor suddenly turned blue for quite a long time, indicating that the class selection was over and Arryn had gotten the class he wanted.
Quentin took his wand and ordered Arryn to open his eyes. He opened it slowly and saw that the room floor was emitting a bright blue light, simultaneously making Arryn surprised and happy.
"Congratulations! Your main class is a mage," Quentin replied, smiling while clapping his hands.
"Thank you very much. I didn't expect to get the class I wanted," explained Arryn, thanking him with a big smile.
"There will be a long journey waiting for you ahead. I will train you so that you can control your power."
***The next day.[Summoning System: Information Status][Welcome][Name: Arryn Vaughan][Level: 28][Title: Unknown][Job Class: Apperentice][Age: 17][HP: 660/660][MP: 710/710]"I've really become a magic user, Ivy," explained Arryn, so happy to see the job class change in his status information."You're lucky to get your class, Arryn. Now you no longer need to deal with the Pantheon about job classes," Ivy replied.Quentin explained in detail what a magic user was, level, then the highest achievement, to the things that had to be prepared to level up.Quentin's level was already at the Noble Tier, the highest class level. It took him about seventeen years to become the sage he is now. Of course, with one goal, to save Arryn by guiding his strength."Master Quentin said something about an apprentice's advanced class," Arryn replied, trying to remember what Quentin had said ye
Some apprentices went straight to the library in groups, some with friends, and some alone. Arryn was still in the practice hall, standing with his group mates."When shall we go to the library?" Aurora asked, worried.Aurora certainly doesn't want to lose quickly to other groups, even though the results of the arcana compilation are individual work. Lucas fell silent, pondering whether it would be appropriate to look for the book now, considering that some apprentices may take more than one book to corroborate a theory."I think we should immediately go to the library to find references," Lucas replied."Then let's go," said Lorelei. She was the most excited when she saw the apprentices leaving this place.Arryn nodded, walking after them all out of the practice room. Ivy flew from the metal railing in front of the audience seats onto Arryn's shoulder.Ivy's sudden arrival surprised Arryn's three group mates. They were wondering about Arryn
"Then what about my friends who don't know about this?" asked Arryn. He was shocked and worried about the condition of his three group mates. “In each reference book, the risks are explained if you choose the wrong Arcana. If they're careful, they'll be able to do it right,” replied Quentin, walking up to Arryn while carrying a book about Arcana. Quentin opened the book and showed the arcana items in each type. Before he could start crafting it for Arryn, Quentin needed to explain this important matter to him. “Though I will guide you, you should know five items in the attack type arcana, starting from Spirity, Examiner, Bloodline, Yoaxin, and Cleave. Each item has a different status increase,” replied Quentin, pointing to the five red round items with a different symbol in the center of the circle. Not only the attack type arcana, but Quentin also explained the heal and support type Arcana. He needed to explain the three because, according to Quentin, Arcana's healing and support
*** The next day. "How are you feeling after the arcana arrangement yesterday?" asked Ivy, perched on a wooden chair with both eyes on Arryn. Arryn was still lying on his bed because he had nothing else to do. Lucas, Aurora, and Lorelei were still busy with their unfinished Arcana. Among the fifteen apprentices, Arryn was the only one who had finished crafting the Arcana. "Quentin said that the stage of adjusting Arcana to my body ended at midnight. I don't feel any different," Arryn replied, raising his right hand before his face. "It seems like your Arcana has integrated with your body well," Ivy said. Arryn nodded as he closed his eyes. "Then, do you have anything to do today?" Ivy asked again. Arryn was silent. The next lesson in Riviela's class would take place next week, so Arryn had plenty of time from today until next week. The books Arryn had read in Quentin's office weren't helping. No single text could explain dimensional magic's origin nor how to control it. Arryn
They immediately took their seats in a room commonly used for discussions. Aurora took the seat adjacent to Lorelei while Lucas took his seat at the side of the table. Lorelei began to open her reference book as she pointed out the arcana items written in it. Aurora and Lucas watched with moving eyes. Aurora nodded her head several times. She already knew the items of each type of Arcana, but Aurora chose to remain silent to avoid acting arrogant in front of her friends. "Before you choose the items to be attached, you must understand what the Arcana is," said Arryn, sitting on the opposite side of Lucas. "I already understand what Arcana is. Can we continue to discuss these items?" asked Lorelei. Arryn looked at Lucas and Aurora, and they nodded in agreement with Lorelei's proposal. The three of them had learned what Arcana was and its functions yesterday. Not only that, Aurora had even made some plans for the items she would use. "You'd better show us your Arcana and explain wh
Arryn invited Aurora, standing next to him, to enter the portal. At first, she was afraid and anxious, but after Arryn convinced her, she decided to enter the portal of light. Aurora was surprised when her feet felt like she was stepping on something warm and soft. The girl kept walking out of curiosity until she stopped in front of a shady coconut tree. Arryn followed Aurora from behind as he looked right and left. He and Aurora were now on a seemingly deserted island. White sand, blue waves, and shady trees welcomed the sea wind. Now, Arryn again didn't know which world he was in. "So, your original magic power is time and space travel?" asked Aurora, her eyes rounding as if impressed by Arryn's magic. "Something like that," replied Arryn, walking to Aurora, playing near the seashore. "Wow, that's awesome magic!" praised Aurora. Arryn smiled as he joined the girl in the water. The two of them enjoyed the moment together until the sun began to fall into the evening. Aurora sat
"Fifth day? I haven't arranged my Arcana yet," Aurora replied. Arryn turned his head slowly to look at the girl hiding behind his back. He realized that this was all his fault. Arryn was unable to estimate how much time was spent inside the portal. "My class is over. We'll meet again next week," said Riviela. It was a coincidence that their instructors were both in the same room. "Did you give us another assignment?" asked Aurora, her mind filled with anxiety about missing Riviela's class. "You have to learn all the spells of basic five-element magic. While practicing, you may feel changes in your body according to the chosen Arcana," replied Riviela. Aurora nodded obediently. She had no problem with five-element magic considering she had mastered it long ago. However, Aurora was still worried about her Arcana, which had not been completed. "Sage Quentin. Can I ask you a favor?" asked Arryn, turning his head to look at the man standing before him. Quentin nodded, his hands folde
*** The following day Aurora's Arcana arrangement went faster than Arryn had expected. Aurora felt different compared to Arryn when adjusting the Arcana to her body. Aurora felt warm and excited after a few minutes of doing the final Arcana setup. Different feelings were felt by people, including Aurora. Now, Arryn was not with the girl. He was still silent as he stared at the roof of his bedroom. "Aren't you going to try your magic again, Arryn?" asked Ivy, staying close to Arryn. "My magic? It seems not, Ivy. Don't you remember the advice Quentin gave me?" asked Arryn, turning his head as his eyes looked at Ivy perched on the nightstand to Arryn's right. Ivy knew and remembered the advice Quentin had given Arryn, especially about the effects of the young man's original magic. Quentin had clearly said that Arryn was forbidden to use his original magic under any conditions, whether in Riviela's classes or during his spare time. "But if you worry too much about Quentin's advice,
