"Amenus in Kiran? What do you mean?"

The oracle doesn't answer me anymore. Everything goes black and dark. When I open my eyes, I'm back in front of the golden tree.

I look here and there, there is only darkness around us except for the golden tree. Leogus comes to me with a serious face. It's the first time I've seen him that serious.

"We have to go back, I think there's something—"

Ddaarrr!

An explosion drowns out his words. Our heads turn together toward the giant trees, thick smoke rising in the air. Without being told, we immediately run there.

Thick black smoke covers our vision. The closer to the tree, the heat around us stings our skin even more. Birds fly in panic, animals scurry for cover.

The giant trees are eaten by fire. But our attention is immediately drawn to thousands of people surrounds by the green creatures I recognize as goblins. They are gathered under the burning tree with their hands tied. The goblins point their sword aim at each of them. Several burning tree branches fall onto them, and I can hear their deafening scream of agony.

They cry, begging for mercy and cursing. I thought they aren't that weak to lose to goblins. I mean, the goblins don't look that strong, but the valiant Kiran soldiers are tied up and can't do anything.

"Father!" Leogus runs towards King Sarkan who is being held apart from the people. He pays no heed to the goblins that get in his way.

I don't follow Leogus, this situation is too chaotic and makes me a bit confused. There are many goblins and some creatures I don't know what kind of, all I know are they look as disgusting as any normal monster. I do nothing but observe. They're not what I'm looking for.

I stared at the giant burning tree. It seems that this tree is not likely to burn easily. It means that there is something more powerful here.

Leogus slashes the goblins with his sword and manages to untie King Sarkan. But his body is suddenly thrown into the fire, crashing into a burning tree trunk.

"No!" Everyone screams seeing their Crown Prince sinking in the fire. I'm not sure if he is still alive in the middle of that fire.

A man or I have to call it a demon, laughed while raising his hand. He indeed looks like a demon with one eye and three horns. His clothes are tattered, showing his skin which was full of burns.

"Kill them all! For King Amenus!"

My eyes widen spontaneously. Hearing that name, my blood rushes faster. My hands and my jaw clench. I can't control myself anymore. The only thing in my head is to kill Amenus and all his people.

I walk towards the devil, he tilts his head with broken movements. He licks his lips with his tongue which looks like a snake's.

"Who are you?" He belittles me, laughing along with his subordinates.

I take out Gargan from the scabbard.

Slaassh...

I chop off the heads of all the goblins I pass. The heads roll on the ground like a ball.

[The goblins' blood is being absorbed by Holy Sword Gargan]

[Holy Sword Gargan has leveled up!]

The system telling me about leveling. That's good, I can kill as many monsters as I want.

The demon backs away slowly, finally, he sees me as a threat. I stop in front of him and he still backs away. He's quite smaller than I thought.

"Where is he? Where is Amenus?"

The demon looks angry because I said his King's name without respect. "Kill him!" He shouts very loudly.

The goblins suddenly rush at me all at once and he uses that chance to retreat. I don't have much time to take care of those small creatures. I slash Gargan to my right and left. In one slash, dozens of goblin heads roll over. I finish them off much faster.

[Holy Sword Gargan has leveled up!]

The demon looked panicked. I can see his eyes shaking with fear.

"This is not over."

His smirk suddenly appears, replacing his frightened face. "Khakakaka... Kids!"

He summons the other monster. The monsters are only as big as goblins, standing around me empty-handed. Cracking sounds come from their bodies. Their bones are broken and suddenly they grow bigger. Their bodies become as big as Gargan's while she is cursed, and there are ten of them. I think they're trolls, gigantic mindless monsters.

"Ghaa!" They run towards me screaming. Their voices are so loud that the flames move like a wind.

{Don't worry, My Lord. I am stronger than them!} Gargan's voice calms me down a bit.

With a little sword skill, I parry their hands with a slash. To be honest, I'm just casually slashing because I'm not sure how to use sword techniques. But I suspect Gargan does more, my simple slash manages to cut off the hands of the trolls. One of the trolls hit me with its body. I manage to hold its body with my hands.

Kraakggh!

My hand goes through its body and breaks its ribs. It's a little disgusting because green blood is all over my hand.

{Why don't you use me, My Lord?}

"Sorry, I'm used to my bare hands."

Now it's the demon's turn. His ugly face gets even paler after I beat the trolls.

"You— You're a monster!" he says.

"Look at yourself before you say that."

I'm getting ready to attack him. I guess he isn't as tough as I thought he is. When I almost reach him, the demon suddenly flies up. It's not fair, I can't fly.

"You want to run away? Coward!"

He smiles again when he knows I can't fly after him. "Khakakaka... I will repay you someday! I will—"

"Kkeeuughh!"

A hand suddenly ransacks his chest and takes his still-beating heart. Amenus. He stands behind the demon with an evil smile that makes everybody tremble.

"I didn't tell you to be a coward," he says to the demon.

Slowly, the demon's body loses its balance and he falls to the ground, lying with a hole in his chest.

I hold Gargan tighter. Amenus is in front of me. This time I will not lose. I have to kill him.

"Amenus!" My breath hitches and my heart beats so fast, I can hear the beats in my ear.

"Do I know you, Young Man? Oh, are you the new hero?" He asks in a very calm voice.

Compared to the last time I saw him, he looks tidier in the red robe. But he is still too disgusting to see.

My urge to kill him makes my body lift itself. I don't know how I can fly or how I can control my body. All I know is my only desire is to go to Amenus and welcome him with a fist.

I fly to him with a fist, but he manages to hold it. The veins in his hand are very clear as if holding my hand is something he doesn't easily do. I use this opportunity to draw Gargan to his chest. Just before Gargan touch him, he let go of my hand and fly backward.

"What are you?" He asks me in a more serious tone.

He doesn't remember the baby he threw in prison twenty years ago, nor the orphanage he burned down. Well, he doesn't have to remember those if he just gonna dies at my hands.

I hit him again. He is not as weak as all the creatures I have fought before. I slash at him with Gargan but Amenus isn't hurt in the slightest, he dodges quickly. I don't care. I attacked him over and over again, attacking and attacking.

Not once does my sword hit him. He can move so fast that I can barely see him.

“Stay still,” he says.

I pause for a moment, wary of what is about to happen. Nothing.

I move again and surprise Amenus. I used this opportunity to injure his hand. Blood starts dripping from his arm. Not a deep wound, but enough to overwhelm him.

[Human blood absorbed by Holy Sword Gargan]

[Holy Sword Gargan leveled up]

"You can resist my magic," he growls. Looks like he's starting to realize that I'm not an easy enemy for him.

I guess Amenus' greatest power is his magic. He doesn't pull out a gun or hit me back. He relies on his magic, which luckily I have the magic resistance skill. I have a chance.

"Don't ignore me!" I scream at him. I'm sick of him not attacking me seriously.

I attack with all my might, concentrating all my strength on the two hands holding the Gargan.

He holds my sword in his hand and we are pushed down.

Boom!

We fall onto a giant burning tree. The fire is instantly extinguished, leaving behind smoke and ashes. A huge hole has formed around us, like a giant crater that had just been rained down by meteors.

I'm panting in the middle of the black smoke that makes my chest tight. I can see Amenus jump not far from me. He is still able to stand despite the attack that I gave.

“Hahaha… You crazy son of a bitch!” He curses me.

"I will kill you like you killed my family."

"I guess I can't underestimate you." Amenus fly back into the air. I can't let him escape.

"Summons," he says.

Black smoke surrounds me. Ten creatures with two horns emerge from the smoke.

[Warning! Abyss's creatures detected!]

[Type: Arc Demon]

[Class: S]

What is it? Why is this the first time the system has given me a warning when a creature is coming?

Forget about the first demon. They are far more suitable to be called demons. Their bodies are only as big as adult humans, without clothes, and with red skin. Their eyes are golden and have fangs like a vampire. The four horns on their heads show how evil they are.

The three of them look like women with flaming hair. As for the others, I'm not sure whether they are female or male.

"Kill him!" Amenus gives the order.

{My Lord, they are too strong.}

I can feel Gargan's fear. I'm not sure I can beat those ten creatures myself. However, if I fail to attack them then I won't be able to kill Amenus.

They attack me together. I stab them with Gargan, but I can't penetrate their skin. They are as hard as a rock.

They hit me in the stomach with their fists and knock me down. Hell, they're so strong. I beat them back. It works, and one of them is thrown away.

I let my guard down. I thought they are just attacking me, but some of the demons get away and chase after the elves who are being evacuated.

"Run! Run faster!" They scream in fear.

A little elf is crying in fear amidst the fire. Behind her, a demon smiles slyly and runs to her, letting out its sharp claws.

No! That little elf will die if I don't do something. Just like my siblings died because I didn't protect them. I can't see the same scene anymore.

"Mother! Mother!" The little elf cries for her mother.

I almost run to help her but the other demons get in my way, they keep clawing at my body and bumping into me because their magic doesn't work on me. I don't have time. The demon almost reaches the little elf.

No. Please no. This is my battle with Amenus. Others should not be victims.

"No!" I shout while the other demons are still attacking me.

There is something in my body that is forcing its way out. Follow with that, my body is burning. It feels very hot and painful. But it doesn't matter anymore. My anger eats up my senses. I just want to exterminate all those demons.

As if there is a fire that burns my eyeballs, my vision turns red. Everything looks like blood.

Destroy them all. I have to destroy them.

An earthquake shakes the ground until the burning remnants of a giant tree fall. The demon chasing the girl stops while the other moves away from me. The elves have already fled from my reach.

I step closer to them. I can feel every ground I step on is cracking. I lift Gargan high, above my head, then swing it hard towards the ground.

Kraaak...

A long crack forms from the ground that Gargan touches, long towards the demons. The crack gets wider until it finally opens. A burst of lava emerges from the crack, like a river flowing from a volcano. The demons panic, they run away but the crack in the ground I created, catches up to them.

"Aaarrghhh!"

It is their last scream before their bodies shrink into the river of lava.
