Let's Make A Fireballs!

The sprout emerged from the seed of a giant tree that was planted. Leogus gaped while Gargan blinked several times. Gin himself didn't understand how his magic worked.

“It's growing,” he mumbled softly.

A small tree appears. There were only three leaves there, just like a tiny tree. Gin was a little disappointed because he thought he could grow the seed into a giant tree right away.

"You said you don't know how to use magic." Leogus touched the tree's leaves gently.

"I don't know, that's why I asked you."

The tree's leaves glowed when Leogus touched them. "As the prince of Kiran, let me give you the blessing," he said.

The light was getting brighter and Gin could see the tree was getting a little taller. It gets higher and higher. Once again, they became the center of attention. People started to gather, King Sarkan was no exception.

“How come…” The hopeless King was speechless.

Hope appeared in the eyes of the people. Some of them even cried.

Giant tree seeds were not easy to grow. The emergence of sprouts was the most difficult part to happen and often fails. But after a successful sprout appeared and the royal family gave a blessing, they only needed to wait for the tree to grow.

The tree grew up to the knees of an adult. For Gin, it was not an interesting thing. He had his hopes too high thinking the tree would grow big right away. Instead of being happy, he was even disappointed in himself.

“I should be able to do more,” he muttered.

Leogus turned his head with a sharp gaze. “Putting sprouts with magic is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Usually, we can only hope… and often fail. That was why we were so hopeless.”

Gin nodded just to respect Leogus' opinion, but deep in his heart, he wanted more.

"Leogus, teach me how I can use my magic."

Leogus scrunched up his face. Not that he didn't want to, but he wasn't sure what he could teach to Gin. First, Gin could use one mana to beat Amenus. Second, he could grow the seeds of a giant tree. Neither of those things Leogus could do.

“I'm just casually using my magic. I'm not sure if I did the right thing. Have I controlled my magic? Or how much power I have. I don't understand at all." Gin stared at his hand.

It had been twenty years since he was reincarnated into this world. Even to this day he still felt unfamiliar with his body. He could learn about this world easier, but it was hard for him to recognize his own power. Even the system couldn't help him.

Leogus sighed. “Fine. Though I'm not sure what I should teach you.”

“Fireball! Just say fireball!”

Leogus was so done. He was frustrated. Very frustrated.

"Fireballs!" Gin shouted the word again. His palms pointed towards the wasteland.

Nothing happened. No single spark happened.

Leogus massaged his head. He thought teaching Gin would be useless because Gin had already used a lot of incredible magic. But what was this? He couldn't even make a fireball.

Little kids playing hit and run near them. "Fireballs!" they shouted. A small fireball appeared from their palms. While laughing they attacked their friends with that weak fireball.

But Gin, the great disaster, couldn't do anything. Where was the system when Gin needed it? Why weren't there any clues?

"Do I need more mana?" Gin growled in annoyance. This system did not help him.

Gargan watched them from afar while stroking a lion's head. It was the lion the children brought when they played in the forest while their parents were looking for food.

Gargan had no intention of helping. She didn't know much about magic. Elves were creatures that relied heavily on magic, she believed Leogus could teach Gin better.

"I can't do this."

Gin almost gave up. He had no control over his magic. Sometimes he could do it, sometimes nothing happened.

"Do I need a spell?"

Leogus rolled his eyes. "Your enemy will attack you before you open your mouth. Didn't I say, just imagine what you want? Just think with your heart!"

"I didn't even have time to think about my heart."

Gin tried again. He directed his hand to the scorched hill.

He imagined what a fireball would look like. He didn't want to get his hopes up too high like a dragon's fire, only a fire like those kids was fine.

"Fireball," he said once again. His voice was much calmer.

A spark appeared. Leogus waited tensely while Gargan immediately ran over. Looked like this time it will work.

A small fireball appeared from Gin's hand. But it was...

"My Lord! That a firefly!" Gargan exclaimed and laughed.

It was too small. The fireball could only kill an ant.

"That's much better!"

Leogus' happy face faded. He was so tired of teaching Gin who couldn't even do the most basic magic.

"It can't be helped anymore. Just imagine Amenus is in front of you and you want to kill him with a fireball." Leogus didn't even have the heart to explain anymore.

Hearing Amenus' name being called, Gin's anger returned. With eyes full of hatred, Gin pointed his palms forward.

"Fireballs!" He said in a loud and firm voice.

Gin imagined Amenus was in front of him, smiling evilly with his ugly face. All of Gin's annoyance gathered in his hands. There was a warm feeling tickling his palms.

A huge fireball was formed. Very large, more than the giant tree was to be. The fireball shot out, scorching anything near it.

Boom!

A mountain very far outside Kiran exploded.

Even Gargan was not prepared to see that. The mountain looked very far from them, covered in thick fog. Now they could see the mountain crumbling into rocks and flying into the air. Because of the magnitude of the explosion, rocks and mountain fragments flew up in their direction too.

The little kids took cover making magic shields on their own. They looked very happy because the stones were flying like a meteor shower.

Meanwhile, Leogus let the rock rain down beside him. He was too shocked to react.

"I said make a fireball! Not smash a mountain!"
