Chapter 5

"With all this glory, do you still want to attend college?" Louis knew that with Lucas's current intelligence, the young man could already manage the company without thinking about education.

Lucas nodded. "Of course. I'm already in, so I have to finish it. And also, I almost forgot that today there are still courses and some assignments to do."

"Let Chris drive you later," Louis said.

A while ago, Chris went out and has now returned with a medicine pot in his hand. Chris handed the pot of medicine to Lucas. "The ointment should ease the pain on your face, Young Master."

Lucas nodded. "Thank you."

Helped by Chris using the ointment, Lucas felt that the wound had improved slightly.

"Before you go, I want to take you to see our house," Louis said.

Lucas nodded, not objecting at all. He also felt curious about where his brother lived.

They left that place and went to the city's elite neighborhood. In the center of the area, there was a magnificent palace-like building. The mansion was luxurious and could be seen from the city's main street.

Lucas was amazed when he saw the house. He often saw this house with Adam and Ryan when returning from the city library. He frequently fantasized about living there.

The car driven by Chris began to pull over, and the mansion's gates opened. Lucas was shocked as the car drove towards the house of her dreams.

"Wait, why are we here?" asked Lucas in confusion.

Louis didn't answer, but Chris did. "This is where the young master lives."

Lucas couldn't hide his shock. He had always wished to live in this place. And now that hope was coming true.

"Our residence? Really?" Lucas could hardly believe it. But considering he was a member of the Carter family, it all seemed to make sense.

Louis smiled slightly. "Why don't you believe it?"

Lucas shook his head enthusiastically. "I'll be staying here too?"

Louis chuckled at his brother's innocent question. "Of course. Or do you want to stay in that shabby flat?"

Lucas was silent for a moment before answering. "You can. But if you ask me to stay in this place, I won't refuse."

They arrived at the main door of the house. Before getting out of the car, Louis said. "Don't forget that you are the Carter family. Remember that. You have to put safety above all else."

Louis's gaze shifted to Chris. "Chris, take her."

"Yes, Young Master."

After patting his brother on the shoulder, Louis exited the car. Chris started the engine again, but Lucas stopped him.

"Do we have another car? Going to college in a Rolls Royce seems like overkill." Lucas asked.

"Of course, Young Master." Chris nodded. He then contacted someone from his cell phone. "Take out the Black Ten."

Two minutes later, a BMW sedan came out of the basement. A tall man wearing neat clothes exited the car and handed Chris the keys.

"Why a BMW? Isn't there anything cheaper?"  Lucas felt a little awkward. The poorest student would go to school in a BMW. That's something too conspicuous.

Chris smiled awkwardly. "It's the most ordinary car we have, Young Master."

Lucas sighed softly. If people saw him get out of the luxury car, there would be questions.

Lucas looked at his watch, seeing that he had to arrive on campus in thirty minutes. If he forced himself to take the bus, it would make him late.

Finally, Lucas exited the Rolls Royce and got into the BMW. They quickly left the place and headed towards the campus.

"Stop somewhere inconspicuous. I don't want to attract attention," Lucas said.

Chris nodded. He stopped the car about five hundred meters from Lucas's campus. "Do you want to be picked up when you get home?"

"No. I can go home by myself." Lucas got out of the car, and Chris left her alone.

When they arrived at the campus, Adam and Ryan were already waiting for Lucas in front of the class. Their faces showed anxiety. When they saw Lucas, the two rushed over to him.

"Where have you been?" asked Adam, worried.

Lucas smiled broadly. "I went out to calm down."

"Did you get your face treated?" Ryan, who saw the layer of ointment on Lucas's face, immediately asked.

Lucas just nodded. "Did you guys submit your assignments?"

"Already." Both answered.

"Then I'll go in first," Lucas said as he walked away.

"Don't take too long. We haven't had lunch yet." Adam reminded. Lucas just nodded and left. In less than five minutes, the young man was back.

"Let us treat you today," Adam said. He tapped Lucas on the shoulder.

"No, let me treat you guys." Lucas refused. With his money, he could treat his two best friends until their stomachs popped.

"Why? I'll pay. You save your money for something else. I'm in a good mood right now." Ryan said.

Lucas smiled widely. "Thanks, but really, let me treat you guys."

Some of Mike's friends walked towards them. Lucas, who saw it, gave them a sharp look.

"You're done for."

Lucas smiled. He wasn't scared at all. "Why? Mike asked you guys to come here?"

"You're dealing with the wrong person." The man said.

Lucas snorted, looking at them sharply. "You're the ones who are going to end up."

Mike's friends laughed until their stomachs hurt.

"It won't be long before you understand what I'm saying."

They quickly left Lucas. Just as Lucas and the others wanted to go to the cafeteria, someone cursed at him.

"Tramp, stop!"

Lucas stopped walking and turned around, then looked at the man in confusion. "What is it, Mr. Jones?"

Jones was the administrative staff who took care of every student's payment. The man was not friendly and was often rude to poor students.

"Follow me."

Lucas looked at James and Ryan in turn. Both nodded. "We're waiting in the cafeteria."

"I'll catch up later." Lucas followed Jones to his office. The two sat down opposite each other.

Jones gave Lucas a disgusted look like he was looking at garbage. "I didn't want to deal with you. But you're bothering Mike."

"Mr. Jones, tell me what you need." Lucas got straight to the point.

"Mind your manners. No wonder Mike is so angry with you. You're no better than a dog." Jones spluttered.

Jones pulled out a piece of paper. "Your college bill so far."

Lucas was shocked when he saw the details of the $20,000 bill. "Mr. Jones, what is this joke? I'm a full scholarship recipient."

"Pay this or apologize to Mike," Jones said nonchalantly.

Lucas stared at Jones without fear. "I won't do either of those things."

"Then you should drop out. Get out and leave." Jones said coldly.

"Mr. Jones, you can't do that. I received a Full scholarship. You'll get into trouble."

"What trouble can you give me?" Jones chuckled. "It's all your fault for looking for trouble with Mike."

"You'll regret it, Mr. Jones."

"Enough! Realize that you're poor!"
