Chapter 6

Lucas was getting sick of hearing Jones' words. He gave Jones a sharp look and said. "Fine, I'll pay for everything."

Jones chuckled in disbelief. Among all the people who got the scholarship, Lucas was the poorest person he knew.

In a condescending voice, Jones said, "What will you pay with? It's obvious you're poor, but you're a slob."

Lucas snorted. "What do you want? "You asked me to pay my tuition, now I'm going to pay it, and you're insulting me."

Jones continued to demean Lucas. "How could I not? You'll find a discounted meal for lunch, right? How do you want to pay 20,000 dollars?"

Lucas smiled sarcastically at Jones' statement. "Your mind is that narrow."

"That's the fact," Jones concluded. "Never mind, you won't be able to afford it. Come out now and kowtow to Mike. I'll forget about this incident."

"You didn't misspeak?" Lucas said. His patience was running out. He's a full scholarship recipient, he shouldn't have been charged tuition, but Jones asked him to pay. And just as she was about to pay him, he asked her to bow down to Mike. It was completely out of the blue.

But when remembering how difficult his life was, Lucas calmed himself down. After all, before today, Jones had never bothered him. "Look, I've got the money, and I want to pay right now. Let's finish the payment right now."

Jones chuckled. Twenty thousand dollars was a lot of money. There was no way he could believe that line of bullshit. "Just listen to me. Go to Mike, apologize, and bow down to him. I'll extend your scholarship."

Lucas clenched his fists. This time, Jones had crossed the line. Lucas was furious with the behavior of this man in front of her. With a family background she only knew, Lucas was very confident facing Jones. He spoke calmly but with emphasis. "You'll have to kowtow to me if you want to live in peace after this."

Jones' laughter broke out right then and there. It was the funniest joke he had ever heard. A poor student asking him to kowtow? That was outrageous, wasn't it?

"You dare to ask me that?" Jones said, still with an arrogant laugh.

Lucas said seriously. There was no hesitation in his gaze. "Of course. Do you think only you can do it?"

The door to the room opened, and a sarcastically laughing Mike appeared. He had been at the front of the room for some time and heard everything Lucas said. What the young man said tickled his ears.

"You have the guts to say that, too," Mike said. He had a feeling that Lucas had amnesia from being hit by his friends. "I'm sure you'll soon regret what you just said."

"I'll never regret it." Lucas looked serious.

Mike clucked. "That was a great joke. It will certainly be followed by tremendous regret as well."

Lucas snorted. He had guessed that it was all Mike's doing. Although he already knew, the moment he saw his face made Lucas want to beat him up. "It's not a joke. I meant what I said."

Mike approached Lucas, pointing at his chest. Every word that came out of his mouth was full of emphasis. "Lucas, realize your position. This world is not a world that people like you can belong to. Only people with a background like mine can manage."

Lucas just glanced at him with a scornful expression.

"Scum like you don't belong."

Mike took a handkerchief and wiped his hands that he was using, as disgusted as if he was holding dirt.

Lucas, who did not accept that, did the same thing, even worse. He rubbed his chest and blew on it repeatedly as if afraid that a trace of Mike's touch would be left behind. "No manners, touching people carelessly. What if the disease doesn't know your shame is contagious?"

"Damn it!" Mike felt angry when Lucas did that.

Lucas ignored Mike's anger. He took a wallet from the bag and took out a black card. "Mr. Jones, hurry up and finish the payment. I don't want to be in the same room with this guy for too long."

"Behave yourself!" Jones reprimanded Lucas. Mike's family had an important role in this town. If Mike felt dissatisfied while being with her, she was worried about getting into trouble in the future.

"Uh, what's this?" Jones' anger disappeared instantly when he saw the cards in Lucas's hand. So did Mike. He laughed at the sight, thinking that Lucas was out of his mind for giving him a toy card.

"What is this card? Where is there a payment card shaped like this?" Mike scoffed. "You seem to watch too many movies."

The card in Lucas's hand was not like a normal Black Card. The card looked like a toy card because it looked so plain. Just a chip and the letters LC as the owner's initials."Do you think I'll believe you? Idiot." Jones scoffed.

"You won't accept it?" Lucas stared at the two with an astonished look. As a rich man, shouldn't Lucas know about the special edition black card?

"What is this card? It's just a children's toy card. Why should I accept it." Jones scoffed.

"Other people you might be able to fool, but not me." Mike took something out of his wallet. It's a black card from Universal Bank. The card owner had an initial balance of at least ten million dollars. "Look at this. This is the real black card."

Lucas flipped the card over, revealing a pattern of a dragon spitting out fireballs. "This is a limited edition card. How did you not know? Or are you a fake rich man?"

"What an insolent mouth you have." Mike came forward and was about to snatch Lucas's card. But Lucas quickly dodged because he knew Mike would do something bad.

Lucas argued. "Why, after I said it was a special edition, would you steal it?"

"Why would I steal a toy card?" Mike shouted, still trying to snatch the card from Lucas's hand. To be honest, he was also curious about the card in Lucas's hand. He had heard of the card but dismissed it as a myth.

"Then why are you chasing me?"

"I just want to reduce the fake cards in this world!" Mike exclaimed.

Lucas was starting to lose his temper. He looked at Lucas for a moment and slapped Mike's face so hard that it left a red mark on his face.

Mike couldn't help but swear. "Bastard! Son of a bitch!"

"What did you call me?" Lucas screeched

"YOU, SON OF BITCH!"

Lucas punched Mike again in the same spot, making the cheek that was originally just bruised take him out.

"Finish him!" shouted Mike, ordering Jones.

Jones nodded and walked over to Lucas. Both of his hands prepared to grip Lucas's body. However, before Jones could do anything, the door to the room suddenly opened, revealing someone staring at the three of them with a sharp gaze. "What's all the commotion about?"
