Chapter 2

Keith stood by the doorway, looking at his wife in anger. She was on their matrimonial bed kissing another man. It was like something snapped in him.

“You fucking bastard! Get off her!”

Keith rushed for the man, pulled him off Eleanor, and went on to give the beating of a lifetime, Keith was not even going to check to see who the man was.

“Keith? Let him go! I said let him go!” Eleanor was pulling his hand trying to get to release the man before he hurt him again.

“Why in the world would I do that? Why is he here? Doesn't he know you are married? I am your husband!”

Keith was still holding the man by his collar. He was not going to let go anytime soon.

“What good is a husband if all he does is occupy space? You are not even working so how in the world would have taken care of me if I was poor and miserable like you?”

This was the first time Eleanor had used such words on Keith. He slowly let go of the man from his grip.

“What are you trying to say El? You know my situation and that I just recovered from the accident so why are you saying all this?”

“Even before the accident, you were struggling to make sure you had clothes for yourself. I was the one who would always give you spare change to make sure you looked decent.” Eleanor said. She sounded like her mother, and she wasn’t going to hold back her words in front of Keith.

“El, I love you and I always have. I gave you everything. And you now are with this piece of filth here?”

Keith was looking at the man who was trying to put his suit back together, the man wore an expensive suit and the jewelry on his neck was pure gold. It showed that the man standing before him was no ordinary fellow.

“Who are you calling filth? I am ten times the man you would even think of being, you dare lay your cursed hands on me!” The man looked at Keith to hit him.

Keith gave him a death stare, it was so intimidating that it made the man not move an inch. “So what are you saying, El? The three years was a joke?”

Eleanor remained silent, then she said, “I only married you to make sure I fulfilled my father’s wish, I would have never married a poor miserable man like you.”

Keith got the answer, but for a minute it felt like he was going to lose it. He looked at Eleanor as she helped the other man up trying to make sure that he was okay.

“Are you okay, Jared? I am sorry you had to get hit like that. ” Eleanor was helping clean the man up, she didn't even look at Keith.

Keith looked down and picked up the divorce papers he had dropped the moment, “So I will take it that this is your signature? And you want the divorce.”

“More than anything I want to be free from you and your filthy self. I don't need anyone to taint my family name.” Eleanor looked at Keith with disgust in her eyes.

Jared pulled Eleanor closer to him, hold her waist firmly. “Tell him, baby, tell him what you need - You need someone like me to make sure that you don't live in pain and misery.”

“Jared, you soft talker, I know you will make sure that I am not in pain.” Eleanor smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder.

“Very well then. I hope you won't regret this later.” Keith brought out a pen, signed the papers, and handed it to Eleanor.

“I hope you find peace in life,” Keith turned to leave the room, and someone held his shoulder. Keith turned to see Jared.

“You know, there is no need for you to feel bad. She only relieves you of your worries, and you won't have to think of what you are going to do to make your wife happy. I will be sure to take care of her,”

Jared had a smile on his face, he was trying to rile up Keith, “I would like it if you got your hands off my shoulder, or it would be more than your suit this time.”

Keith sounded like an emotionless beast, he was still holding back his anger and didn't want to hurt anyone before he left the house.

“You won’t do that, you’re lucky Jared is letting you go after what you did to him the first time.”

Sandra walked into the room with the gift Keith had given to her.

“Here, I don’t have any use for your useless gift. I know you think you were worth something, but you see, there’s no way in the world you would ever be worth anything to us.”

Keith took the gift from Sandra. He gave off a faint smile as he looked at it and then walked out of the room silently.

Keith didn't utter a word. He just kept walking out of the room, not even looking back.

Keith looked at the package in his hands and sighed. He took out his phone and called a number.

“Lord Keith, we have prepared the gifts and will be there soon with everything. A diamond necklace, another golden express card, and a cheque for twenty million dollars.”

“Hold the gifts, and send a car to come pick me up.”

Keith stepped out of the house, not about to spend another minute there.

"Is there something I can help you with, Lord Keith?" Marx asked, sounding concerned. He'd prepared everything to meet the Kendricks.

"Nothing much, Marx. Just that I'm getting divorced in two days."
