Keith stood by the doorway, looking at his wife in anger. She was on their matrimonial bed kissing another man. It was like something snapped in him.
“You fucking bastard! Get off her!”
Keith rushed for the man, pulled him off Eleanor, and went on to give the beating of a lifetime, Keith was not even going to check to see who the man was.
“Keith? Let him go! I said let him go!” Eleanor was pulling his hand trying to get to release the man before he hurt him again.
“Why in the world would I do that? Why is he here? Doesn't he know you are married? I am your husband!”
Keith was still holding the man by his collar. He was not going to let go anytime soon.
“What good is a husband if all he does is occupy space? You are not even working so how in the world would have taken care of me if I was poor and miserable like you?”
This was the first time Eleanor had used such words on Keith. He slowly let go of the man from his grip.
“What are you trying to say El? You know my situation and that I just recovered from the accident so why are you saying all this?”
“Even before the accident, you were struggling to make sure you had clothes for yourself. I was the one who would always give you spare change to make sure you looked decent.” Eleanor said. She sounded like her mother, and she wasn’t going to hold back her words in front of Keith.
“El, I love you and I always have. I gave you everything. And you now are with this piece of filth here?”
Keith was looking at the man who was trying to put his suit back together, the man wore an expensive suit and the jewelry on his neck was pure gold. It showed that the man standing before him was no ordinary fellow.
“Who are you calling filth? I am ten times the man you would even think of being, you dare lay your cursed hands on me!” The man looked at Keith to hit him.
Keith gave him a death stare, it was so intimidating that it made the man not move an inch. “So what are you saying, El? The three years was a joke?”
Eleanor remained silent, then she said, “I only married you to make sure I fulfilled my father’s wish, I would have never married a poor miserable man like you.”
Keith got the answer, but for a minute it felt like he was going to lose it. He looked at Eleanor as she helped the other man up trying to make sure that he was okay.
“Are you okay, Jared? I am sorry you had to get hit like that. ” Eleanor was helping clean the man up, she didn't even look at Keith.
Keith looked down and picked up the divorce papers he had dropped the moment, “So I will take it that this is your signature? And you want the divorce.”
“More than anything I want to be free from you and your filthy self. I don't need anyone to taint my family name.” Eleanor looked at Keith with disgust in her eyes.
Jared pulled Eleanor closer to him, hold her waist firmly. “Tell him, baby, tell him what you need - You need someone like me to make sure that you don't live in pain and misery.”
“Jared, you soft talker, I know you will make sure that I am not in pain.” Eleanor smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder.
“Very well then. I hope you won't regret this later.” Keith brought out a pen, signed the papers, and handed it to Eleanor.
“I hope you find peace in life,” Keith turned to leave the room, and someone held his shoulder. Keith turned to see Jared.
“You know, there is no need for you to feel bad. She only relieves you of your worries, and you won't have to think of what you are going to do to make your wife happy. I will be sure to take care of her,”
Jared had a smile on his face, he was trying to rile up Keith, “I would like it if you got your hands off my shoulder, or it would be more than your suit this time.”
Keith sounded like an emotionless beast, he was still holding back his anger and didn't want to hurt anyone before he left the house.
“You won’t do that, you’re lucky Jared is letting you go after what you did to him the first time.”
Sandra walked into the room with the gift Keith had given to her.
“Here, I don’t have any use for your useless gift. I know you think you were worth something, but you see, there’s no way in the world you would ever be worth anything to us.”
Keith took the gift from Sandra. He gave off a faint smile as he looked at it and then walked out of the room silently.
Keith didn't utter a word. He just kept walking out of the room, not even looking back.
Keith looked at the package in his hands and sighed. He took out his phone and called a number.
“Lord Keith, we have prepared the gifts and will be there soon with everything. A diamond necklace, another golden express card, and a cheque for twenty million dollars.”
“Hold the gifts, and send a car to come pick me up.”
Keith stepped out of the house, not about to spend another minute there.
"Is there something I can help you with, Lord Keith?" Marx asked, sounding concerned. He'd prepared everything to meet the Kendricks.
"Nothing much, Marx. Just that I'm getting divorced in two days."
Keith left the Kendricks family mansion without even looking back, he waited in front of the mansion so the car Marx sends for him spots him early. “I cant believe that they are this late, I would have to question Marx when I see him,” Keith was getting tired waiting for his car to arrive. He looked around to see if he would spit any cars coming to pick him up. “Well look who it is, I know he needed help from the way he left the house.” Keith heard a voice from behind him, he turned to see who it was and he saw it was Jared and Eleanor coming out of the mansion holding hands. “You would have asked for spare change, instead of standing here to beg for money what a disgrace.” Eleanor spat on the ground next to Keith, Keith didn't even pay attention to them. He stood there still waiting for them to go wherever they were going, but it was like they were going to enjoy trying to torment him. “I think I have a spare hundred in my pocket, I will give you tha so you will take your sorry
Keith looked at the guards and waved his hand signaling them to stop bowing to him, he was doing this while trying to ignore the fact that Jared had a pistol ready to fire him. “You better have an explanation for why you are late, I have been waiting here and you were busy having a joy ride.” Keith had a stern look on his face, he was not looking like a wimp anymore but he was looking like some kind of angry man that needed help with something. “We are so sorry sir, we didn't get the address that Mr. Marx gave us. We apologize from our hearts, sir.” One of the guards said, trying to bow his head, Jared was looking at everything unfolding in front of him and it was like none of it was real. Eleanor was still trying to put one and one together knowing there was no way on earth Keith would have the money to afford all this. “What in the world is going on? Keith is a nobody and he will never be able to have all this.” Eleanor was trying to understand what was going on, she saw that Kei
Keith didn't move a muscle, he stood there looking at the men. It was a stare-off, the men found Keith amusing. “Say shrimp, where are you from? Are you aware that we run this part of town? And we are just doing our job so why don't you just run along now before you get hurt.” The men broke out in laughter, they were mocking Keith’s appearance. They were mocking the way he popped out of nowhere to tell them to stop what they were doing like he was some kind of king.“I will leave, but I am leaving with this young lady.” Keith was serious when he said that, this made everyone present pause for a bit and look at him. “Please sir don't risk your life for me, they will not hesitate to kill you so please go.” The lady pleaded with Keith, but it was as if he was not going to be listening to her. “Don't worry, I will make sure that they don't lay a finger on you,” Keith smirked as he kept his eyes on the men watching them like a hawk. The men felt insulted, they didn't expect someone lik
Keith walked back to the Hotel Lobby, he was trying to act like nothing was going on when he knew everything was going wrong but he chose to act that way since he had taken care of the threat. ‘I honestly thought they would put up a fight, but they were all flukes and they called themselves guards. Pathetic,’ Keith was a bit disappointed, he had expected to fight people with extraordinary strength. But he didn't get anything like that, he only got to beat around some rather weak men. Keith got to the Hotel Lobby, he didn't catch any sign of his guards he decided to wait for them. “They probably went to look for me, I will just wait here.”Keith made himself comfortable by sitting down and waiting for his guards to come back. It was like everyone was muttering the moment he took a seat in the lobby.‘I know I am not dressing properly but must they make it look like a big deal?’ Keith tried to shrug off the fact the people there were looking at him like he had committed some kind of c
Keith was looking at the man Jared had brought to him, he observed every single detail about the man trying to know who he was and why it was him that Jared decided to call. “Sir, I told you to leave the premises before I decide to call security to remove you from the hotel.” The man was looking at Keith who didn't even want to care about what the man in front of him was saying. “Don't you hear him? He is the new general manager of this hotel and the one that will decide who will stay here or not.” Jared was looking at Keith waiting for him to do something like beg him or the man for forgiveness. But Keith was unfazed, he simply looked at the man like any other person and didn't say a thing. He just made himself a bit more comfortable than before. “I am not going anywhere and if any of you have a problem with that then I will suggest you take it elsewhere.” Keith was trying his best not to be bothered by anyone, it was as if he was even trying to avoid anything that would make him
“Mr. Jacquline, what are you doing here? I was not expecting to see you here.” The manager sounded like he was scared when he saw the man standing by the door. The man standing by the door was the owner of the Phoenix Spring Hotel and the city’s third richest man. He was not the best of people to hang around but it was known that he hardly came by his Hotel.“I know you might think that there is a problem here but I will assure you that everything is being taken care of and you will no need to worry about anything.” The manager was looking at Mr. Jacquline as he was looking at the way the guards were holding Keith like he was some kind of criminal.“Mr. Jacquline, your manager is one of a kind. There is no other person on this planet earth that would be able to handle such a problem without messing up and it would have the end of this establishment.”Jared butted in, he was trying to make the manager sound like a good guy to the hotel owner, he was only doing it to make sure that he w
“What in the world are you doing? Who do you think you are?!” Jared was filled with rage, he was not even trying to understand what was going on. The only thing on his mind was how he was going to make sure that he made Keith pay for trying to embarrassing him. “You think there is something you can do? You don't even know who I am! I will make sure that you will die of hunger when I am done with you.” Jared began walking to Keith, he was going to make sure that he got his message to him. Keith looked back at Jared, he didn't know what he was planning to do but he was not about to stand there and watch them do something. “You know that there is no way for you to get anything out of whatever it is you are doing but I will tell you one thing. You have overstayed your welcome here and you don't want to make me angry.” Keith was not smiling anymore, he was looking at Jared trying to make sure he made go up to his hotel room and not take it too far. “What do you think you are? I am on
There was silence in the room, Keith was pissed off and it was not looking like he was going to listen to anyone. “Sir? What do you mean?” the man kept shivering; he had heard Keith but he was not sure that there was going to be a chance for him to even talk to Keith again. “Are you deaf? I told you to get yourself out of here and make sure that you don't show your face around here again.” Keith was stern when he said those words, the ex-manager knew better than to make Keith angry than he was already. He stepped back and began to walk away, there was nothing he could do or say to even make him consider giving him his work back. “This is beyond an embarrassment; he has lost his job and there is no way he will even get it back even if he were to beg for it like that. I know that there is no way for him to get another job in this city.” “He has made himself a fool, I don't blame him too. There is no way I would have known that the lad over there played an important part in this ho
