Keith didn't move a muscle, he stood there looking at the men. It was a stare-off, the men found Keith amusing. “Say shrimp, where are you from? Are you aware that we run this part of town? And we are just doing our job so why don't you just run along now before you get hurt.”
The men broke out in laughter, they were mocking Keith’s appearance. They were mocking the way he popped out of nowhere to tell them to stop what they were doing like he was some kind of king.
“I will leave, but I am leaving with this young lady.” Keith was serious when he said that, this made everyone present pause for a bit and look at him.
“Please sir don't risk your life for me, they will not hesitate to kill you so please go.” The lady pleaded with Keith, but it was as if he was not going to be listening to her.
“Don't worry, I will make sure that they don't lay a finger on you,” Keith smirked as he kept his eyes on the men watching them like a hawk.
The men felt insulted, they didn't expect someone like Keith to belittle them or even stand up against them. “What in the world? Who does this low-life think he is? The great Ethan Burns ordered that we bring that Lady to him. Even her own family agreed to the marriage but I don't see why she would run away.”
Keith turned to look at the girl standing close to him, “I see you don't want to get married, why so?”
“It doesn't concern you, someone of your class won't understand how higher class marriage works. I am being used as a trading tool to help a business grow and you think that I will remain there?” The lady was holding back her tears, Keith didn't ask her any other thing he just turned to the men and looked them in the eye.
“If you want her then you will get through me,” Keith smiled as he prepared himself for their attacks.
The men looked at themselves then broke into laughter, “Why don't we use him as an example of why people shouldn't try to be heroes then maybe some will learn from him.”
The men pulled out crowbars and other weapons they were going to use on Keith, Keith drew back a bit and took a stance. ‘I have been itching for a fight,’
The men launched at Keith, they were thinking he was going to run away the moment they charged but it was not as they thought. Keith didn't move, instead, he waited for the men to make a move first. Keith was quicker than any fighter they had seen, his strikes were precise and deadlier than anything seen anywhere.
The lady Keith had saved stood there dumbfounded, she didn't believe that the man before her had this much strength or that he was a skilled fighter. ‘I have never seen anyone fight like this, not even Grandpa can pull all that off this quickly anymore. Just who is he?’
Keith knocked down all seven men except their leader, he was looking at him with bloodlust in his eyes. It was like he was going to kill him if he flinched a bit. “Now, go tell your boss you ran up to something and you don't think that the girl will be marrying him anymore.”
Keith turned back to see if the girl was okay, but the man seized the opportunity to pull out a gun. “Go to hell you demon!” But before he could pull the trigger Keith was already in front of him, it was like he moved with the wind.
“Before you say anything remember that I gave you mercy, you brought this upon yourself,” Keith said before knocking the man out cold with a deadlier strike. It was all unreal to the lady standing there, she looked at Keith like he was some kind of god that fell to the earth.
“What in the world just happened? I didn't expect him to even fight but he took down eight of them all by himself.” The lady kept looking at Keith, it was strange how he looked like a normal man but his skills were on the par of a great warrior.
“You can go now, find somewhere to stay. I don't care what you do, just don't get kidnapped again.” Keith turned and began heading to the hotel lobby, he didn't like to be the center of attention.
“Wait, please at least can I get the name of the man who saved me?” The lady asked with a calm tone that it looked like she was trying to be polite as much as she could.
“Why do you want the name of a lower-class man? What use will I be to you?” Keith used a mocking voice turning to look at the lady, he wanted to know what her reaction would be if he sounded that way. He looked at her and it was clear that she was a bit embarrassed and this was a bit strange for Keith.
He had expected someone that would speak back to him immediately but instead, it was like she was petrified. “Well, I would love to know the name of the man who saved me and maybe take him out sometime.” The lady had a vibrant smile on her face, it was like she was feeling safe with Keith.
“Oh, in that case, my name is Keith Norman. And what may I call you beautiful lady?” Keith looked at her with a smile on his face, he always knew how to make anyone happy.
The lady blushed as she looked down, “My name is Noelle Hathaway, of the Hathaway Family. I want to thank you for saving me, I don't know what would have become of me if you didn't show up.”
Noelle bowed her head, Keith looked at her and wondered if she was just being nice in the meantime or if was that the way she was trained.
“Well if it's that important to you, I am Keith, Keith Norman.” Keith waved his hand as he walked to the hotel lobby.
The girl stood there with a smile on her face, “I pray we meet again,”
Keith walked back to the Hotel Lobby, he was trying to act like nothing was going on when he knew everything was going wrong but he chose to act that way since he had taken care of the threat. ‘I honestly thought they would put up a fight, but they were all flukes and they called themselves guards. Pathetic,’ Keith was a bit disappointed, he had expected to fight people with extraordinary strength. But he didn't get anything like that, he only got to beat around some rather weak men. Keith got to the Hotel Lobby, he didn't catch any sign of his guards he decided to wait for them. “They probably went to look for me, I will just wait here.”Keith made himself comfortable by sitting down and waiting for his guards to come back. It was like everyone was muttering the moment he took a seat in the lobby.‘I know I am not dressing properly but must they make it look like a big deal?’ Keith tried to shrug off the fact the people there were looking at him like he had committed some kind of c
Keith was looking at the man Jared had brought to him, he observed every single detail about the man trying to know who he was and why it was him that Jared decided to call. “Sir, I told you to leave the premises before I decide to call security to remove you from the hotel.” The man was looking at Keith who didn't even want to care about what the man in front of him was saying. “Don't you hear him? He is the new general manager of this hotel and the one that will decide who will stay here or not.” Jared was looking at Keith waiting for him to do something like beg him or the man for forgiveness. But Keith was unfazed, he simply looked at the man like any other person and didn't say a thing. He just made himself a bit more comfortable than before. “I am not going anywhere and if any of you have a problem with that then I will suggest you take it elsewhere.” Keith was trying his best not to be bothered by anyone, it was as if he was even trying to avoid anything that would make him
“Mr. Jacquline, what are you doing here? I was not expecting to see you here.” The manager sounded like he was scared when he saw the man standing by the door. The man standing by the door was the owner of the Phoenix Spring Hotel and the city’s third richest man. He was not the best of people to hang around but it was known that he hardly came by his Hotel.“I know you might think that there is a problem here but I will assure you that everything is being taken care of and you will no need to worry about anything.” The manager was looking at Mr. Jacquline as he was looking at the way the guards were holding Keith like he was some kind of criminal.“Mr. Jacquline, your manager is one of a kind. There is no other person on this planet earth that would be able to handle such a problem without messing up and it would have the end of this establishment.”Jared butted in, he was trying to make the manager sound like a good guy to the hotel owner, he was only doing it to make sure that he w
“What in the world are you doing? Who do you think you are?!” Jared was filled with rage, he was not even trying to understand what was going on. The only thing on his mind was how he was going to make sure that he made Keith pay for trying to embarrassing him. “You think there is something you can do? You don't even know who I am! I will make sure that you will die of hunger when I am done with you.” Jared began walking to Keith, he was going to make sure that he got his message to him. Keith looked back at Jared, he didn't know what he was planning to do but he was not about to stand there and watch them do something. “You know that there is no way for you to get anything out of whatever it is you are doing but I will tell you one thing. You have overstayed your welcome here and you don't want to make me angry.” Keith was not smiling anymore, he was looking at Jared trying to make sure he made go up to his hotel room and not take it too far. “What do you think you are? I am on
There was silence in the room, Keith was pissed off and it was not looking like he was going to listen to anyone. “Sir? What do you mean?” the man kept shivering; he had heard Keith but he was not sure that there was going to be a chance for him to even talk to Keith again. “Are you deaf? I told you to get yourself out of here and make sure that you don't show your face around here again.” Keith was stern when he said those words, the ex-manager knew better than to make Keith angry than he was already. He stepped back and began to walk away, there was nothing he could do or say to even make him consider giving him his work back. “This is beyond an embarrassment; he has lost his job and there is no way he will even get it back even if he were to beg for it like that. I know that there is no way for him to get another job in this city.” “He has made himself a fool, I don't blame him too. There is no way I would have known that the lad over there played an important part in this ho
Keith and Jacqueline were walking together to the office. Keith was trying to hide the fact that he was filled with rage at the moment and it was not going to be nice if he was to explode. “I am sorry sir; I didn't know you would arrive here this early.” Jacqueline was still apologizing to Keith; he was not about to make sure that nothing would make Keith angry. “I am not mad at you Jacquline; I know you didn't know that I would be here at any time now so there is no way you would have thought that there would be a fight and it would cost you an employee.” Keith was a bit serious; he was not sure that there was any explanation for what he had faced earlier. “Marx was meant to be here; I don't know why he is not here and why he is absent.” Keith was still angry that he didn't meet his guards there nor did he see his closest ally, Marx. “Sir Marx would have been here but there were some unforeseen circumstances he needed to make sure that there would be nothing that would irritate
“I have checked everyone but the rat still keeps himself hidden, I don't know how he was able to keep himself hidden from us for long.” Marx sat down, he knew that there was no way he would be able to get things if he didn't find a way to get the culprit. “Strange, then it means that the person is amongst our ranks and he has been hiding from us. But how is possible that they would cause an accident that almost killed you three years ago.” Jacquline was not even clear on wh would think of trying to kill Keith. “Clearly whoever did it wanted to remove our master from his throne and they were trying to kill him to make sure their plan didnt fail.” Marx was looking at the table trying to make sense of the entire thing but it was still not clear to him how it happened under their watch. Keith dropped his glass on the table, he looked at the two men and he had something to say but he di not know how he was going to say it without causing a bit of confusion for them. “I know this is goi
Elenaor got home to her parents house that night, Jared was too angry to even think of walking in with her. “Are you not coming in? At least to have a drink or two,” she was looking at Jared but it was like he didn't even want to talk to her. “I didn't tell you I was thristy? I want to get back home to my father and I want to do it as soon as possible so please if you don't mind I need you to get down.” Jared was still angry with everything that happened to him, he was not even trying to hide it from Eleanor. Eleanor didn't say another word but she got down from the car and began entering the Kendrick Mansion, everyone there was surprised to see her. “You were meant to be there till morning or even three days like the both of you always do. So why are you back so early?” Sandra looked at Eleanor as she tried to take a seat, Elenaor didn't reply, rather she was still trying to understand what it was she saw unravelling at the Hotel. “El? Is anything wrong or did someone make you f
