Chapter 3

Julian was in a car with an old man. The arrival of the old man named Adam would attract people's attention if they talked in the open area. In the car, Julian rubbed his face without saying anything. The slap still felt a little.

"Young Master Julian, Master George asks for your return," Adam spoke politely. Being arrogant to this person in front of him would make his mission fail.

"He asked me to come home after throwing away all my stuff and kicking me out violently?" Julian grinned. This seemed so funny to him. Half a year ago, his father-George Silver kicked him out of the house just because of an accusation from his brother-Keith Silver.

Julian Silver is his real name. He is the son of the Silver family in Oldcity, a much more prosperous and wealthy region than Newcity, where he is now. Julian Silver is the illegitimate son of George Silver, and his relationship with his father is very bad.

But Julian has intelligence, and that's why the real heir, the legitimate son of George Silver, is not happy with Julian's existence. He made accusations against Julian, who had no followers like him. Strangely, his father, who doesn't want to listen to him, sends Adam, one of his confidants, here.

"Master George is very sorry for doing that, Master Julian. Master George can't sleep peacefully... now Master George is very ill and needs Master Julian by his side." Adam explained. He knew that Julian was ignoring what he was saying out of disinterest.

During the search, Adam was very surprised by Julian's life. Even though he was an illegitimate child, he had great abilities. However, instead of living a miserable life like this. Julian seemed so hurt by the incident that he tried to live a simple life because he wanted someone who would always be by his side sincerely. It was sad because all he got was humiliation and betrayal.

"You can tell that to Keith. Don't bother me, Adam."

Julian was tired of hearing his words. He was about to get out of the car and go home. Adam held Julian's hand frantically until they both looked at each other.

"Sorry for my smoothness Master Julian. Master Keith is dead... Only you can inherit the Silver family." Adam looked down. He felt very sorry for the family he served.

"You mean?" This was very shocking news to Julian. He didn't think he would hear Keith Silver was dead.

Families in Oldcity are much more secretive than families in Newcity. They often cover up about their families and their heirs. Competing families can eliminate each other's heirs.

"That's why, Master Julian, Master George very sincerely wishes for you to return to the Silver family."

"You're asking me to die next." It was a shock, but the anger within Julian was still palpable.

"It's not like that, Master Julian. Master George has arranged everything, you will be protected, and there is no need to return to Oldcity now because Master George has not finished cleaning up the enemy."

" Master Julian, you have been betrayed by your wife and humiliated. Perhaps you will not have a place to stay."

Adam looked at her more boldly. Adam's words were true, he didn't have the money to rent a place, and Cindy would be happy to dispose of her belongings.

"You should take this opportunity to get back at them, Master Julian. Inheriting the Silver family is not as bad as you think."

"Maybe you're right, but it's still too much for me."

Julian got out of the car and immediately got on his old motorcycle to go home to where he lived with Fanny. When he arrived, he saw a big fire in front of the house. There was Cindy, who was looking at the fire with a happy face.

"How dare you come back here, poor guy?" Cindy grinned. She gazed around her waist at Julian, who walked up to her.

"I'll get my stuff." Julian didn't even look at her because he was so hurt by what happened tonight.

Cindy laughed out loud. This was ridiculous for her, who was a rich person. Julian acted as if he had a lot of money just now.

"You don't have anything! You can leave here immediately, and don't show your face in front of me again!" Cindy pointed fiercely at Julian's face. "All you have is trash; I've cleaned it up!"

Julian stopped walking. He immediately looked at the fire that was burning something. He saw the clothes he had there.

"You!" Julian immediately grabbed the wood and dispersed the pile of clothes from catching fire. He did it quite brutally, which was surprising to Cindy.

She didn't expect Julian, who never showed anger even though she often insulted him, to be angry just because she burned his shirt.

"I know you're poor and only have that shirt. You went overboard just for that ugly shirt." Cindy still managed to chuckle. "Even the dog's clothes are better than yours!"

"Shut up!" Julian snapped loudly. He was busy looking for something in the pile in front of him. He looked very panicked and finally found something.

It was a necklace with a beautiful sapphire pendant. When Cindy saw Julian pick up the necklace, she was surprised because it looked expensive, and she wanted it.

If only Fanny had accepted him as a husband, Julian would have given Fanny this necklace left by his mother. But it turned out that it was just her wish that had been broken because of their greed.

"You stole my necklace!" Cindy yelled out loud. She didn't even own a necklace like this.

Julian stood up. He looked at Cindy while still holding his necklace.

"What a liar. This isn't your necklace. It's mine." Julian shot back at his former mother-in-law.

"How can a poor person like you have a necklace like that? It's obviously mine. You stole it! You thief!"

Cindy wanted the sapphire necklace around her neck. It would make her look more beautiful than in the hands of a poor man.

"Give it to me!"

"I won't. It's mine, and you have no right to take it!"

As he snapped at Cindy, a luxury car pulled up near them. Witnessing this commotion, Fanny immediately ran to her mother, giving Julian a stern look.

"What else are you going to do!? Don't you have any shame showing up here again!? You should go over there, begging on the streets like you often do!" Fanny snapped at him. At that moment, Julian was surprised because he looked so stupid. How could he have liked Fanny and thought she was the sweetest woman? While in front of her, Fanny looked very violent.

"I just took my stuff."

Julian tried to ignore it. He would bring the rest of his belongings that he managed to salvage.

"Stuff? You're just taking out the trash. It stinks in here." Frederick recalled Julian's shirt that Julian was just about to pick up.

"That's right, he has nothing good except trash." Fanny agreed with Frederick, but Cindy nudged her shoulder. She whispered about the necklace that Julian was holding.

"You stole my mom's necklace! Give it to me!" Fanny shouted.

"This is my necklace. Not yours."

Julian immediately put it in his shirt pocket. He didn't want them to take away his mother's only precious relic. However, Frederick acted quickly. He caught Julian's hand and threw a fist at him.

"You poor thief! You dare to steal here!" He was still angry about the beating Julian had taken at the party.

"You are indeed a perfect match, fellow swindlers and criminals!"

Julian retaliated while trying to hit Frederick. But when he did that, the security guards who were in front immediately provided assistance to Frederick. They held Julian, and only the sound of an exclamation came out of Julian's mouth. After a while, he was at the police station with bruises on his face. They handcuffed Julian's hands very tightly.

"What a shame. Your wife dumped you, and you became a thief in her house. It's only natural that she would choose another man over you."

The policeman in front of him scoffed, witnessing his extremely pitiful look. Who should he side with, the Murphy family and the Brown family?

"I didn't steal, and that was my necklace. You took the wrong action." Julian was still gripping her hand tightly. He had lost his necklace and was very unhappy about it.

"You're still saying nonsense! You're a poor person who was taken in by the Murphy family! How dare you speak lies and stab them with your actions!"

"You're such a fool. I told you to perform your duties well, but you did something stupid instead. Let me go now."

Julian exhaled. He hadn't expected to behave like this. Ultimately, he would be forced to accept help from the family he left behind. It was common for the Silver family to observe, and he knew Adam was observing him now.

"What can you do? You have nothing and are just a hobo!" The policeman's name is Steve. He looks down on Julian and hopes that he will get a reward because of his actions in defence of a wealthy family.

"You don't deserve to be a cop. You're too stupid."

A book was thrown at Julian, but he immediately dodged it, which made the police even more annoyed at him. Just then, Adam appeared, who Julian had been waiting for.

"Sorry to be late, Master Julian." Adam bowed to Julian, which surprised Steve, especially seeing his commanding officer with the man who had just entered.

"Co-commander Norman!" Steve stood up in surprise. He looked at Julian, who was now uncuffed.

"I'm sorry for how this new cop treats you, Master Julian." Norman also bowed before Julian, which made Steve even more frightened.

According to the information he had, Julian was just a hobo who didn't have anything. So, why did the commander bow to Julian?

He became agitated now, realizing that he had made a fatal mistake.

"Your men are so stupid. They're just doing whatever they want because I have nothing." Julian spoke in a cold voice. The slow glance in his eyes was very frightening.

"Sir, he is a fool. I will give her a punishment."

Julian glanced at Norman, who bowed back to him. "Isn't that fraud?" asked Julian slowly.

"Y-yes?"

"Fraud for accusing me. He deserves to go to jail and get his punishment."

Norman was silent. He couldn't say no to the person in front of him. While relaxing, he received news from the police in Oldcity that an important person was coming to his office, and the important person bowed before Julian. Norman immediately knew that Julian had a higher position than Adam.

"Of course, I'll fire him and put him in jail, sir!" Norman had to save his life. He didn't want the career he had built to be ruined because of another useless person.

"Commander, that doesn't make sense. I just-"

"Shut up, you idiot! You're so stupid you can't work properly! You son of a bitch!" Norman threw the wooden statue on the table into Steve's face. He then moved to hit Steve over the head repeatedly with his hand.

Adam approached Julian, and with a bruise on Julian's face, he felt very guilty.

"Master Julian, we'd better get out of here and treat your wound." Adam showed the way to Julian, who had a cold expression on him.

Julian didn't even feel any pain on his face, but his heart ached even more because his mother's necklace was taken by those who betrayed and insulted him. He could not allow that.

When they were at the car door, Julian stopped moving even though Adam had opened the door for him.

"I'll accept the offer," he said without changing his expression. The sound of the wind blowing made him even more certain of that.
