Chapter 4

Julian had opened his eyes. Now he was in the big house given to him by his father in Newcity. Adam, his servant, was here, and he had prepared everything Julian needed.

Breakfast was prepared, and Julian ate quietly, unlike when he was with Fanny and Cindy, where he was the one who prepared breakfast and was treated like a servant.

"I will take my necklace today," Julian said, putting the piece of meat into his mouth. He chewed slowly and made the tension quite pronounced in the dining room.

"Do you need me to accompany you?" Adam asked politely. He knew that Julian was so angry because the necklace that was very important to him was taken by someone else.

"No need. I can do it myself, Adam. And just do as I say."

Julian finished his breakfast and went outside. He looked at the yard in front of this luxurious house and realized the old motorcycle he had always used was not there.

"It seems that I left the bike at their house too." Julian exhaled his breath.

"Sir, you can use the car here for your use. Or would you like to use another car?" Adam asked. He would be ready to do Julian's bidding quickly.

"No need, I'll just use that car."

Julian pointed at the car in front of him. It was a black, sleek rolls royce. Julian liked it, and it would suit him well.

"Of course, you can use it, Master Julian. You will be chauffeured to wherever you wish."

Julian nodded, and he quickly got into the car, ignoring Adam. He knew where to go. It was Wednesday, and Julian was well aware of Cindy's schedule. The arrogant woman would attend a social gathering with her social friends, and maybe this time, she would boast about her new son-in-law, of course, the necklace she had looted.

"To Ocean." Julian gave orders to his driver, and the car immediately moved to one of the luxury hotels in Newcity.

When he arrived at Ocean, Julian immediately got out of his car. He straightened his clothes. In a sky-blue shirt with black pants, he looks more presentable than before.

"Are you here to beg me again?" asked Fanny sarcastically. She looked at Julian, who looked different, but she hugged Frederick's arm tightly.

She was about to enter the hotel when she saw the figure bothering her. Julian had nothing. She would suffer with him. She would sleep on a pile of hay instead of money.

"No, I don't. I've never begged a woman like you." Julian replied to her words. His gaze looked colder, which surprised Fanny.

"You're very arrogant. This damn man must have followed you because he can't accept your divorce, Fanny. What did the police do to let a thief like him off the hook?" Frederick was talking big in front of the Ocean entrance. Many people stopped to watch the argument.

"Isn't that Frederick Brown? Who is he arguing with?" a 40-year-old man was asking a security guard there. He didn't shift his gaze to them because he didn't want to miss out on the gossip.

"Mr Frederick is arguing with a thief, sir. He said he was a thief and a stalker." The security guard explained, but he only defended Frederick. The accusation made the people there whisper excitedly.

Fanny thought that if they supported her, this was her chance to shame Julian even more. A man with nothing deserved to be trampled on.

"I'm very afraid, Frederick. He won't accept my divorce because of his poverty. He's a disgrace as a man. He has nothing and can only afford to give me steamed bread."

Her touching her forehead, she made her face look so sad. She even pretended to wipe away nonexistent tears to attract the people's sympathy there.

Julian was so sick of this cheap drama. He stares coldly at them, which makes Frederick dislike him even more.

"I'm here to get my stuff, and I don't want to be with a cheap woman," Julian replied. He looked at Fanny, whose eyes were now wide. She did not expect Julian, who would do anything for her, to say that to her.

"Cheap!?" Fanny snapped. "You are cheap, stupid, and ignorant. You should feel so lucky to be in the Murphy family. I know now that you tried to harm my grandfather and pretended to save him from getting into the Murphy family!"

Fanny accused Julian. She made things up quickly and easily. Hearing herself attacked with a cheap word could give her a bad image, and she didn't like that.

"Look at this immoral man!" Frederick looked around him; he wanted the people gathered to support his opinion, which would be useful for him.

"He called my fiancée a slut, when he's a worthless, stupid man. You should realize that your life in this world will never be worth a dime, you bastard!"

Frederick touched Fanny. He patted Fanny's shoulder repeatedly to calm her down. Frederick and Fanny arrived today at the Ocean Hotel to pick up Cindy. She immediately contacted Frederick to ask him to come here. Of course, it was to boast about her to the women who liked to boast about their sons-in-law. Finally, she could boast about her rich son-in-law!

But since she had been waiting, she didn't see Frederick coming with Fanny. It made Cindy uneasy. As she was moving around, she heard a commotion and came to her.

"Oh my! This damn man has no intention of interfering with our lives!" Cindy shouted, instantly drawing the attention of the crowd. She walked towards Julian and pointed at him roughly.

Just as Julian thought, the necklace was used by Cindy. She wore a dress that showed her neck and shoulders so that people could notice her new necklace.

"You came here to ask Fanny not to divorce you!" Cindy grinned. "Don't dream! My daughter will get a very useful, rich, and wonderful husband. Unlike you, who is a loser!"

Cindy's words made Fanny and Fredrick laugh, as well as the people behind them. They seemed satisfied with the mockery said by Cindy.

"I'm not here to ask her not to divorce me. I'm grateful to be divorced from a woman like her."

Julian stepped on his feet and moved closer to Cindy, which surprised Cindy. She backed away slightly.

"I'm here to get mine." Julian immediately grabbed the necklace used by Cindy. It made Cindy scream while holding her neck.

"Thief! He stole my necklace!"

"Frederick hit him. He stole my mom's necklace!" Fanny shouted as she went over to Cindy and calmed her down. She looked at Julian, who was staring at them coldly.

"You poor thief!" Frederick moved and tried to catch Julian, but he dodged faster than Frederick.

"Stealing? This is my necklace, and you're the ones who stole it!" Julian spoke in a big voice. He looked at the people who were talking about this matter.

Cindy and Fanny looked around them. They certainly did not accept the accusation of thieves said by Julian.

"Don't be stupid! You're poor. You can't afford that necklace. You stole it from me and now claim it's mine. You're a useless person who's really trash!" Cindy snapped at him, and that made the noise even bigger.

"Yes, there's no way Mrs Cindy stole the necklace from that man. They call her a useless son-in-law, a parasite and trash. It's because he can't make his own money."

"I also heard that rumour he is a big disgrace in the Murphy family. Surely, he won't be called a disgrace in the Murphy family if he can have that necklace."

Cindy spoke, "It's true what you said. I'm really tormented by him being my son-in-law. You can see for yourselves that she's a thief. He's a poor person who wants to control my property, the Murphy family's property."

Cindy played her drama while Fanny beside her held her mother and made a sad face seeing her mother now.

"Mother, it's good that he's not your son-in-law anymore. I divorced him, and now you have a wonderful son-in-law like Frederick." Fanny was proud of Frederick. They did have a long relationship. But that was because Frederick had assets, and Fanny thought her life would be good with Frederick.

"All of you are accusing me with empty words. Can you show me proof that this necklace is yours?" Julian challenged them. Of course, they wouldn't have proof of this necklace.

Cindy's mouth was open. She was thinking of something so she wouldn't be embarrassed by this incident.

"Of course, there is evidence. There's a receipt at home, and it can't be carried around. You know it was Frederick who bought the necklace. You poor thing who worked for a hundred years couldn't buy that necklace. Now give me that necklace before I put you in jail again."

Fanny threatened Julian. She held out her hand. If only Julian was the old Julian, he would give this necklace willingly because he loved Fanny. But not now. He would not give his mother's precious necklace to the woman who betrayed him.

"You are the ones I will put in jail. Swindlers, libelers and thieves too."

There was laughter. This was ridiculous, in their opinion. The poor, ignorant man in front of them was now threatening them.

"Is it because I hit you so hard yesterday that you got a concussion?" Frederick spoke harshly. He pointed at his own head while looking down at Julian.

"Stop with the nonsense. You're just unable to show proof that this necklace is yours."

Julian prepared to put it in his pocket, which made Cindy scream.

"Thief! Stop that shameless man from stealing my necklace!"

He asked the security guard to arrest Julian immediately, but Julian looked at them coldly.

"You damn man, if you did buy this necklace, do you know the name of this necklace?" Julian asked calmly. That remark made Frederick silent for a few seconds.

"Why should I answer that question of mine?"

"Of course, it has to be to prove whether you know about this necklace. You're the one who bought it, right?"

Frederick squeezed his hand, Julian was so annoying, and it pissed him off. Moreover, many people were now whispering to belittle him.

"It's a sapphire necklace!" he said loudly. And while the foolish man certainly didn't know the name of the necklace he was holding, Frederick knew that the stone was sapphire and must be sapphire.

"Fool. This necklace is called Sky Tear." Julian corrected Frederick's words. Of course, he knew all about the necklace he was holding, his mother had told him about it many times, and there were only five in the world.

His mother got it from George, and that's why his legal wife disliked Lilian-Julian's mother so much.
