Max was satisfied.

"Okay."

"Do you need me to do anything else, Sir?"

"That's all." Max shook his head lightly, and his gaze moved to the entryway again. Claire was already done with her call and was looking toward the washroom in waiting. "If there is nothing else, let's talk some other time."

"Alright, sir. If you need me for anything, you can call me directly."

"Okay."

Then, he disconnected the call and washed his hands before leaving the washroom. He quickly joined Claire back, and once she saw him approach, she sighed with a furrow of her brows.

"I was just about to come looking for you," she said while folding her arms. "What happened? What took you so long?"

Max slipped a hand in his trouser pocket and looked around them. "I had a call."

It seemed that all the attendees had arrived already, and the event had begun in full swing. All the reporters were gone, and even the usher was no longer at the door.

She stared at him, looking doubtful, but she didn't probe and simply nodded.
