Chapter 4

Lucy was in absolute shock and disbelief, unable to process what her mother had just told her. "Why would he do such a thing?" She questioned her mother who had no response to the question and bit her lips nervously.

"Well, he… he must have been…angry about being exposed." Alice stuttered.

"Angry?" Lucy repeated, she was more than convinced that Michael wouldn't do much to her mother. "Mother… now isn't the time to cause any more trouble."

"Trouble? I did no such thing!" Alice huffed, whining like a child with her pouted lips.

"I'm already famished from the previous situation so don't start another." Lucy gruffed, wanting to end the call as soon as possible.

"Silence you ungrateful child… I helped you remove that stone head from your life and you end up talking to me this way?" Alice snapped at her daughter, evident with anger that she didn't react the way she had expected, she frowned her lips and made her way to the car, the driver opened the door and she got into the back seat leaning back tiredly.

"Get ready as you will be having a meeting with Alex today so that you can discuss some business." She informed her daughter. "You would need to be there in a few minutes… I would be there too."

"What?" Lucy gasped.

"Don't tell me you want to resist, we have no time to waste Lucy!" Alice raised her voice.

"I wasn't planning on doing so." Lucy rolled her eyes wanting to end the call as soon as possible, she was getting more irritated as Alec was involved, and she began to wonder how they both knew each other and what he had up his sleeves this time. Also, why did her mother suggest going with her?

The questions in her head made it ache and she decided not to think about it again and just go along to see for herself.

"I'll be on my way now Mother, just text me the location." With that, Lucy ended the call.

Michael on the other hand sat majestically in the car and stared out of the window lost in thoughts when the car came to a halt in front of a big mansion, he looked up at it without being fazed, the door opened and he helped himself out taking in the fresh air and looking around.

"Sir please follow me in, Miss Karina awaits you." One of the security men gestured towards the building and he nodded, silently following him into the house.

It's been years since he'd been in a building this beautiful, more beautiful than even his home with Lucy, he gazed around admiring the building which had a sense of luxury yet in a way, the house was moody, he was about to touch a wall decor when he heard the clacks of heels walking down the stairs and gaining his attention.

"I thought it would take forever to bring you here but thankfully it didn't." A woman spoke, she was wearing a white Lycra long-sleeved dress that accentuated her curves in every part, her hair was perfectly styled in curls and her face had a little touch of makeup adding to her glamorous look.

She stared at him with her seductive blue eyes that had made many men swoon over her but was never really moved by them no matter how rich they were.

"Follow me then." She beckoned him and walked up the stairs, he quickly followed behind and walked into the room with her, he stopped at first but walked in, taking a glance at the room, he couldn't help but notice her grandfather lying almost lifeless on the bed and a doctor who must have tried everything he could to help the situation as best as he could but to no avail.

He walked closer to her grandfather immediately knowing just how serious the situation was, making him frown. "His situation isn't getting any better, that's why I brought you here," Karina told him and he nodded at her knowing what she meant.

"His situation is quite serious," Michael said while feeling his pulse which was weak and slowly fading away.

"Obviously." The doctor whom he had ignored earlier said sarcastically which gained Michael's attention and made him turn to look at him, he noticed he was a famous doctor who had graduated best among others and was the most seemed doctor among the elite. 'Doctor Ryan'. He was taught by a famous Doctor Russel who was known for his splendid work in hospitals

"Sorry for the whole mix-up, doctor Ryan please meet Michael and Michael… Doctor Ryan." Karina gestured as the both of them gazed at each other. "I didn't bring both of you here because you lack the needed medical skills or lack trust in what you do so don't build up any animosity."

"It's alright." Michael shrugged his shoulders in opting for the cold gaze the doctor gave him. "Let's get over with this."

"I just want my grandfather to be safe… I can't let anything happen to him." Karina scrunched her face and sighed hoping the two could work together and heal him.

"May l ask what medical school you attended? I need to know if he's qualified as he must have told you." Doctor Ryan who didn't seem to be comfortable with Michael being here and wanting to bring him down asked with a sly smile.

"I didn't attend a medical school," Michael told him blankly which took Ryan aback making him wonder if he was pulling his legs and didn't want to reveal it.

"If you say so, then how did you learn your medical skills?" He asked. "Who taught you?"

"I didn't learn it from anyone. I taught myself," Michael said still with a blank expression as he stared at Ryan who was puzzled and didn't believe him in the slightest because he couldn't imagine learning without help from an experienced teacher.

Michael did have a master. But he had never wanted to be famous and made Michael vow never to reveal his name to anyone so that he could live a quiet life and not be disturbed by people.

"Well, if you learned yourself then I can't think of you less than a quack doctor whose aim is to extort money from this family." Doctor Ryan snorted, glaring at Michael arrogantly. "I suggest you leave now so that the last dignity you have can remain intact.
