"The only person who gets to decide whether I leave or not is Miss Karina, it would be best if you kept quiet." Michael finally spoke which angered Doctor Ryan. Karina sensing the tense air between the two finally decided to speak up as every little time counted.
"There's no time for any of this… doctor Ryan why don't we give Michael a chance?" Karina was not ready for the bragging and sizing up as all she yearned was for her grandfather to open his eyes once more. "Both of you could join heads together and know what to do in this situation."
"Competing with a man below my level is far beyond any sort of humiliation." Ryan spat bitterly, adjusting his glasses while staring at Michael in disdain. "But why don't we give this clown a chance, let's see just how much he can play." He spat at him.
Ryan walked past Michael and began to test his patient with a stethoscope and other vital parts, he nodded his head and turned to Karina who leaned against the wall silently staring at Ryan as he made findings of what seemed to be the problem.
"Well, from what I observed… he's been poisoned terribly… it's a miracle he's still holding on to life." Doctor Ryan informed Karina who gasped in shock. She had no idea it was this complicated and intense.
"What?" She immediately sat on a chair to ease her aching knees and calm her racing heart, she was trying her hardest not to be too tense. "How could that be?"
Michael walked towards her grandfather and felt a pulse in his neck, he also felt the fever emanating from the man and turned to Karina.
"It's a unique poison I must say, one that was used in the Korean Joseon times…. I never thought I would treat this kind of case." Michael admitted while pursing his lips and still observing the old man lying on the bed unconsciously. "It's a rather strong poison that slowly blocks your veins, closing all blood supply and air supply until your last breath… it’s quite slow and excruciating that I can't possibly think of the pain he must be going through." He added.
"Oh dear! What should I do?" Karina was filled with worry as she paced around the room nervously, she couldn't bear to lose her grandfather right now as he was the only family dear to her and cared so much about her. "What about an antidote?"
"Finding an antidote would take time as it is very rare and hard to find, I doubt he would be able to make it before it is found." Doctor Ryan spoke, staring at Karina in pity, and turned to look at Michael with a furrowed brow as though expecting him to contradict what he said.
"He's right," Michael confirmed while taking a closer look at Karina's grandfather again
His skin had become pale and dark veins were appearing which was evident to Michael that they had little time left and no modern medical skills could help deter the situation.
Doctor Ryan was even more irritated by Michael thinking he was still trying to pretend to be medically enlightened. "We could try a possibly faster way then." He offered to gain the attention of both Karina and Michael.
"What then do you need, I would make it available," Karina informed him while calling out to one of her security men standing right outside the door.
"Let me make a list." Doctor Ryan brought out a pen and small booklet from his pocket and wrote all the things he needed, tore the sheet, and handed it over to Karina who took a quick glimpse of it and gave it to the security telling him to go get it while handing him a credit card.
Moments later the security man was back and placed all the things on a working table, mainly herbs, and began to prep it. "At least, this could stabilize him before we get the main antidote." Doctor Ryan assured Karina who was already at ease that her grandfather was going to make it.
"Just do whatever you can to make sure he lives." Karina shrugged, not interested in whatever means he used. Micheal wasn't sure Karina was making the right choice by allowing her grandfather to take the herbs prepared by Doctor Ryan but said nothing so as not to be seen as an overconfident person.
Ryan glanced at Michael who continued to stare at the herbs that were brought in.
"Instead of standing there like a buffoon with no medical skills, why not help me out so we can cure him, or are you scared that your secret would be released?"
Michael remained silent and continued to watch him do his stuff, Ryan was annoyed again that Michael wasn't at all bothered by him and turned away with a glare on his face as he began to pound the herbs in a mortar and added some liquid herbs before turning it into a place and was ready to apply it on his skin.
Micheal could not sit back and watch anymore, he clenched his fist as he knew if he didn't make his next move then there was going to be havoc, he didn't care if Ryan would be pissed off and think he was trying to bring him down and shrugged it aside as it was better than losing a life.
"Stop!" Michael rose from the chair he sat in and walked up to Doctor Ryan who rolled his eyeballs in disgust as Micheal surged toward him like a know-it.
"What is it this time!" He thundered
Micheal took the herbs from him and turned to Karina "This is wrong, the herbs won't cure him" he blurted out dill with a straight face.
"Are you joking or what? Do you even have any idea what you're saying?" Ryan snapped at him angrily.
Doctor Ryan scoffed as he veered toward him "Stop spilling nonsense and hand over the herbs at once!" He demanded, but Ryan didn't listen to him thinking of what way to end Michael because he was like a thorn in his flesh right now.
Micheal shut his eyes with his fist clenched as he gritted his teeth turning to Doctor "Are you trying to kill him!"
"What are you saying?" Karina's eyes widened in surprise. She turned her head in surprise and gazed at Ryan in the hope that he would be able to know what was going on."You scum, what are you spitting?" Ryan glared at him in anger. "Do you think you're better than I am?""That's not the case here, the herbs you mixed are incompatible and would create another poison," Michael explained but Ryan wasn't interested in what he was doing and was more bent on humiliating him. "Why else do you think I would stop you from using it?" "What?" Karina gasped, just when she thought it would be over, it felt as though it was getting worse. She clasped her hands together mumbling prayers hoping he would survive this. "How do you mean 'Mr. I know it all?" Ryan mocked him tilting his brows while staring at the plate containing the herbs. "This procedure is unique and taught to me in medical school, unless you went to how would you know it's the correct one?" "I didn't mean to mock you but a man'
A few hours passed and Karina's grandfather had begun to do well although he was still unconscious, his pale skin had begun to get back its original color. Karina held his hand in her palm as tears of joy flowed down her cheeks. She was more than happy that he would remain with her for a while."In a few days he will be awake and healthy as before," Michael informed Karina who nodded happily and was unable to speak because of the joy she was feeling."Thank you so much, there are no amount of words to show how happy I am for what you have done," Karina said between tears as she stared up at Michael who nodded at her."You fool, even without those herbs, he would be fine… he just needed time for it to get deeper into his body so that he could get cured," Ryan snapped at Michael while trying to ruin his image in front of Karina. "You only did that just to be praised and steal my win.""Steal?" Michael chuckled briefly, he guessed that something like this would happen after healing Kari
Michael's eyes widened and fear was written all over his face. "What's wrong?" "Meadow hotel, eastville…” Before he could ask for more the call ended almost immediately. Worry took over him as he wondered what could have happened to Lucy and his mind raced in fear. "Is something the matter?" Karina asked with a look of sorry but Michale didn't have time to explain such a thing and turned around. "Excuse me… I'll be taking one of your cars." He made his way out of the room and made his way to the garage where a driver was already waiting to pick him up but Michael grabbed the keys from him and got into the car. "Sir, Miss Karina-" the driver tried to explain but was cut off by the sound of the engines being loud, Michael zoomed off not caring what the man had to say. "Damn it Lucy… why do you find yourself in such situations?" He mumbled, tightening his hands around the steering. Half an hour later he was able to get to the location and quickly made his way into the hotel, and
Michael heard a scream come from the room just above and jerked his head towards the direction, he could tell it was Lucy and his heart raced in fear. He couldn't waste any more time here and clenched his fists, Alice and Emily sensing the change in his aura were cripes with fear that he could do something drastic and quickly moved away making a way for him to walk up the stairs and towards the room where the sound came from. He was filled with panic that something might have happened to her. He ran with so much speed and used his leg to bang the door making it open instantly. He walked inside the door and saw Alec jerk away from the floor with blood on his hands. "You! What do you think you're doing here?" Alec snapped at him with a trembling gaze. Michael ignored him quickly making his way to Lucy who was lying on the floor with a bleeding head and half-naked he immediately took off the coat he was wearing and covered her. "I would send my men to beat you up, this is your l
"You bastard!" He screamed. "I-i'll make sure my father ruins your life!" Alec was in a lot of pain and squirming around but Michael couldn't care less, he slowly turned to Lucy who was still lying on the floor unconscious. He huffed breathlessly and gently picked her up walking out the door."What do you think you're doing?" Emily stood in front of him in an attempt to stop him but she quickly moved away when she saw how his eyes had darkened."Give my daughter back you scoundrel, where do you think you're taking her to?" Alice snapped at him, making him more annoyed than he already was."I will call the cops if you move another inch with my unconscious daughter, what are you planning to do with her huh?" "Mother is talking to you so respond!" Emily snapped at him but didn't dare move an inch forward, the fear in her voice was obvious and her hands were trembling. He ignored her and made his way to the car, gently placing her in the back seat, shutting the door, and turning to look
"It's for someone very close and dear to me who had fallen ill mad the herb is needed for them to stay alive." He replied shortly still gazing at the herb with his heart full of joy. He sat on the chair tiredly and leaned his head backward while staring at the ceiling chandeliers."Someone close? Who might it be?" She asked curiously again wanting to know more, she knew that Michael barely kept people around and it wasn't his wife and it had to be someone else but Michael wasn't about to reveal that, he gazed at her with a blank face and said nothing in hopes that she would not expect him to answer her question."An old friend." He mumbled looking away from her, she nodded her head skeptically gazing at him still wanting to know but said nothing."What about the issue you had to attend to just now, has it been resolved?" She asked while sipping a glass of wine in her hand."Yeah, it was so uncalled for." He rolled his eyes and frowned. "Alec had kidnapped my ex-wife to molest her, eve
Lucy slowly opened her eyes gazing around the room before landing on her mother and sister."You're awake." Her mother rose from the chair and sat beside the bed holding her daughter's palm while rubbing it softly as though she genuinely cared for her."Mother?" She arched her brows while trying to sit up."You should lay down and not work yourself out, I'm here for you." Alice made her lay back down and even though that was the last thing she wanted to do she didn't put up a fight and just obeyed her. Lucy looked around in expectancy to see Michael because she had called him to save her but frowned when she saw he wasn't present. Her heart chef and a frown crept on her face as she gazed at her mother."What did you do that for?" Her mother began to lash out in anger."How could you do that knowing who he was." Emily joined her mother, glaring at Lucy who was trying to put one or two things together."You have put the company in a tight corner and I don't think we would be able to get
3333333333333323333333333323The next morning Lucy decided to go to Alec's company to resolve their differences even though it was the last thing she wanted to do but she couldn't change her mind after promising her mother. She got out of the car and sighed with a frown curved on her lips as she stared at the company building I was disgustthat, that it was run by corrupt people who would stop at nothing to get whatever they wanted even if it meant a life."What ahian?" She grumbled as her phone rang in her handbag, she took, it out checking the car ID, and saw it was her mother who had to make sure she actually went to the company to apologize and not ditch it."What's the matter again?" Lucy rolled frustrated to hide the frustrating she felt."Just trying to make, sure you went there," Alice spoke smiling."Well now that you have seen that I'm here what else do you want?" Lucy asked walking past the reception office but was stopped, she sighed and walked back staring at the secretary
