Chapter 5. Change of plans.

The event at the Los Angeles airport was carried by all television stations and everyone kept talking about it, with the big unanswered questions of "Why have the Golden Vultures returned."

Many thought that Gibbs was back to the United States to continue the family business, but videos continued to repeat as people tried to identify who the Golden Vultures picked up from the airport that morning. Reporters began to call them out, for an open speech, but most of the official lines of the organization were redirected to other organizations that broke out from the Golden Vultures, thereby making them aware of the big boys' return.

The Sheltons were having dinner as usual in the dining room when the news began to air for the third time that day.

"It's such a shame that these reporters still can not identify who the Golden Vultures picked up at the airport." Bobbie said as she was sick and tired of hearing the story without any useful information.

"Sooner or later, they'll tell who revived this organization." Harvey assured his wife as he paid attention to what was being said, hoping to hear something new and useful.

"Grandpa, I think we should reach out to them, that way we could strike a deal with them before some of these bigger companies do." Fred suggested, trying to impress Harvey with his smartness, and gain favor from him.

"Even if we do, she still cannot compete with other bigger organizations that would be sending their offers too."

Harvey was trying to remind Fred that even though they had made a name for themselves in Austin, they were still top five in the whole of Texas alone, not to mention the other States with bigger names and corporations.

"Wasn't that the reason why Clay married Lynn? To make sure our family is more recognised in the state and country at large."

Penny dropped her cutlery, she wasn't happy with the way Harvey took the idea of her son, as though they were nothing.

"You will watch your tune, woman." Harvey said to her as he lost his appetite. Their talk made him not concentrate on the news which was being aired. "Golden Vultures may be a big name but where have they been in the last three years? There are other organizations who are more elevated than they are as it stands now and I doubt they'll ever rise again as before."

After saying those words, he got up and left the dining table.

There was silence for the next few minutes after he left the dining room. For a very long time, they hadn't seen Harvey that angry.

"Come on, let's continue our meal. I'm sure he'll do as you've suggested Fred, just give him some time." Bobbie assured Fred and Penny who took his reaction to heart.

"Grandma, if it happens that Gibbs is back, do you think grandpa would be able to arrange his marriage with me like he did for Lynn and Clay."

Shelton Rita asked. She didn't like the fact that Lynn got married to the most influential man in Texas, so getting to marry a more prominent person would make her very happy and satisfied.

"Now that's a good way to start." Bobbie welcomed the idea, as it was a better way to go about in winning the leader of the Golden Vultures to work with them and elevate them to top in the country.

*****

Andy was coming out of Charlie's mansion where he had stayed low for the last two days after arriving in California. He knew a lot of questions were being asked by the press pertaining to the resurfacing of the Golden Vultures, but he had refused to give any response to them, and had ordered Charlie not to say anything either, as they secretly planned his departure from California to New York.

"Boss," Charlie came chasing after him from the mansion.

He turned around, having bid him farewell already inside the house, he wondered what the matter was, because everything about his departure from California was already set and in motion.

"I'm sorry boss, but you have to answer this call, it's from the prime minister." Charlie pleaded as he handed him a cellphone.

"I already told you no contacts." Andy was not happy about it even as he had wondered what business the prime minister would have with him.

"Hello, am I speaking with the leader of the Golden Vultures?"

A female voice asked as he put the phone close to his ear.

Then he looked at Charlie with this weird look which interpreted thus 'is this the prime minister you were talking about?'

Charlie didn't know why that question was asked through his look so he didn't know what to answer.

"You called, so tell me who I'm speaking with and why." Andy asked back, instead of giving a direct answer to the question.

"This is Coleman Karen, we may have crossed paths at the airport two days ago."

Hearing the name 'Coleman' he knew exactly who it was, and also identified that Charlie wasn't wrong to say the call was coming from the Prime minister.

"Maybe we did." He said, as he exercised patience to hear the main purpose of her call.

"Very well then, I was thinking we could meet officially some time today. Get to know each other and so on."

"I'd like to, but at the moment, I am leaving the state to take care of some family issues."

"Of course you are, Mr Wilkinson."

She addressed him by his family name, showing that she had done her homework very well.

It's been a decade since anyone addressed him by that name, so he was shocked and couldn't say anything for the next couple of minutes.

"Are you still with me, Mr Wilkinson?"

"Yes I am," he snapped out of his shock. "Please call me Andy."

"So what do you say Mr Andy?" Karen asked.

Where would you like us to meet? And please, somewhere quiet and away from the press."

"I'll text you the location and time."

As the call ended, Andy didn't move at once, he was still in shock as to how the prime minister's daughter was able to reach him and even knew so much about him.

His identity as a Wilkinson was buried when he left home and even the Golden Vultures whom he stayed with for three years couldn't get a hold of that information. To them, he was just a recruit who rose up the chains of command so fast and gained favor in the sight of Mr Harper Trent, their leader.

"What's the matter Boss?" Charlie asked, seeing that he was troubled after the call.

"Cancel and reschedule my flight. Then prepare yourself, you'll be accompanying me to a meeting alone." Andy answered as he walked back into the mansion after giving the phone back to Charlie.
