Return of the son-in-law

Chapter Eight

Klaus sat down on his executive leather chair, he looks around again, the freshness here was unimaginable. Klaus sigh he has never been to a CEO office before, so this was making him beaming inside but outside his face was deadpan.

Klaus' stretch to the telephone on the desk, he calls Helen Freeman. She has some questions to answer. Immediately Klaus made the call, he heard a knock at the door.

"Come in" Klaus adjusted on the chair, his eyebrows moved when he saw it was Helen, he was surprised she was already here, he dropped the telephone just seconds ago. Klaus was impressed but he won't let her off the hook.

“What did I say about the bidding” Klaus eyes were on her. Helen shivered a little, his voice keeps getting threatening.

“Clara baker only” Helen dare not add 'but' she was already frightened by the new boss.

Klaus saw she was frightened, she has always been the boss here, so it's normal to be scared when she suddenly become under someone, Klaus then soften his voice.

“What happened, why didn't you announce the winner” Helen finally got her voice back, she hurriedly said. “Clara Baker bid can't handle the company needs, The demand is far greater than what her bid contains” Klaus eyebrows moved up, he wasn't too surprised, Ricky company is 50 billion dollars worth, surely his wife bid was inferior, but he couldn't believe Ricky company demands were that high.

Klaus was remaining poker and Helen was pressured by it, her initial conclusion was starting to cancel, this new is boss is not gentle at all, so she quickly used her mellow voice.

“So I postponed it, so I can seek your opinions on how to proceed” Klaus nods agreeing to Helen, he gazed at her, admiring her intelligent, no wonders she was given the job.

“Let tackle this quickly” Klaus sonorous.

Clara nightmare wasn't done yet, it seems she has fallen into her family traps, everybody were ranting words by every corner.

“Look at what you and your stupid husband have caused, you….you have thrown this family to the ground!” somebody roars. “Look…look what that Bushman has done, why did you listen to him Clara, are you nuts like him” everybody was pointing their fingers at Clara, some were holding back their fist, they could've pounces on her since.

Clara just remains silent like a statue and this was burning their heart more.

How can she be so calm when the family is going into catastrophe.

one of them couldn't hold it anymore, he grips Clara jacket.

“Dammit!, you whammy! Do you know what you have done, our entire business is on the line, and you dare stand there looking poker, coward!” the rest members rush to hold him, he struggles with them. “Let me go!, leave me alone!, let me show this girl what menace looks like” just then a loud crying voice was heard. Everybody turns to the direction.

Richard has been watching the scene, everybody was vibrating, now that the family doom is sure there was no need to delay his words, they have a gigantic loan to buy and with the way things are turning outing the family won't meet demands.

Although taking the loan was Richard ideas but seeing the rampaging members, this was the perfect time to shift blames.

Richard collapse in tears, everybody rush to his aid, he covers his eyes crying. “Clara how could you, how…did Klaus convince you to do this…. I always knew you were selfish but….this is beyond that, this is heartless” Richard continues, everybody sobbed by his tone, finally that madman has succeeded in tossing this family to the ground.

Richard gets up through the help of the others, he cries on their shoulder. “We are gone, yes we are finish, can't you see the picture, it's clear” Richard looks at everybody face, they all circle him without uttering anything. He widened his eyes like he was surprised, “So nobody sees the picture, Ricky company got furious when they saw Clara bid that why they kicked Harold out, he must've mentioned our family name” everybody started to see what Richard was talking about. Truly Clara has ended the family. Richard took advantage of the silence. “They did that to the Jerry family, what…are….we, who are we!!” Richard burst out, “see what your useless husband has done, you caused this Clara, you follow that madman like you are insane too. We were barely paying back the loans, surely, we could've been able to buy back….but.....now… I don't think we can pay a quarter of it, Klaus has finished us!” everybody vibrates more, the family was suffering because of the loan that why they needed a super contract but now they are doomed.

Their anger tripled, they have had enough of Clara and are useless husband.

Clara stares at Richard, how can her brother be so devilishly, taking the loans was his ideas and he wanted to use it to expand his side of the business. Now that things are going wild, he dare shift the blames to them.

‘Barbarian’ Clara tighten her fist, the family didn't stop, it only got worse, even though they knew Richard was to be blamed for the loans, they shift the faults to Klaus.

Clara was surging inside, she used to be highly respected, the sparkling light of the Baker family, but everything changed when she married Klaus. Her dignity was toss to the bottom of the rock.

Clara was a goddess at such, she was supposed to marry from the most prominent family who can help the family with just snapping their fingers just like her two cousins. Lillian and Alice.

They married according to Mrs. Baker choice and their husbands has enlarged the family business more, their position in the family were above mountain, Clara never cared about position only her feelings and what is right. She was hated for that.

Lillian and Alice were the ones rampaging the most, they stylish push Clara backwards, “always giving the family headache, when will you learn Clara, wise up!” Lillian roars, Alice was behind her, she looks at Clara disgust, she was irritated by her looks, how can she be this beautiful and yet marry a pig with no lucrative means “look at you Clara, regards as the queen beauty, but you marry a bushman that offer nothing to this family, not even a penny” Lillian laughed out when Alice said it,

“I bet he shines shoes in the street, they toss him a coin if he did a nice job” everybody laughed by Lillian words. “Waste being!, a street beggar” they sounded.

Lillian slowly examine Clara face, soon she will burst out, what a joyful moment it will be to see the goddess cry.

Alice too was waiting, she raised her eyebrows up like she just realized something, everybody gazed to her too.

“Oh my God, Clara I can't believe you are this dumb, why haven't you noticed it everyday Klaus goes out searching for a job” Alice covers her mouth not wanting to finish the statement, she was pretending to be really shocked.

Everybody gathers her wondering what Alice has discovered.

“He…he is probably spending time with his street lover!, After all you are pregnant, you can't give him those stuffs, how can Klaus be this heartless, oh Clara!, poor you!” Everybody burst out, Alice was a genius, truly Klaus must've a street lover.

Clara face redden, her blood was surging, Alice words shivered her, but she manages to pull herself, she knows what their agenda were, she won't give them the chance.

They are probably jealous because she married the man she chose, unlike them following Mrs. Baker words.

Alice and Lillian face harden when they saw Clara remain poker after everything they throw against her. The family were still throwing more words, but Clara remain unshakable.

Alice was about to drop another one, this time Clara won't only cry but fight her.

just then somebody uttered. “Ricky company are announcing the winner of the bid through their livestream, five minutes to go”
