He offered his hand to her, saying, “It’s time, Ms Luna. Let’s give it a try.”

She sat on her wheelchair on the porch afraid of that moment for multiple reasons.

He took her hand in his and gave her a gentle tug, to which much to her surprise, she was able to move her legs forward.

“H-how?” Luna asked, stumbling forward before being caught and supported by Arthur.

“Your legs are fine now, you just need to get used to walking again,” Arthur said with a gentle smile.

Five years ago, the accident she was involved in rendered her a cripple. Doctor after doctor that visited told her she would never walk again and after a long time she had no choice but to believe.

But now thanks to Arthur’s miracle medicine, she watched her feet take step after step and tears of joy spilled out of her eyes without control.

She clutched his shirt tightly and cried on his chest, after all the dark and gloomy life she had led for years finally had a dazzling light.

Arthur hugged her tightly, offering as much comfort as he could while he muttered, “It’s okay, you won’t have to ever cry again.”

“Let’s take our morning stroll together shall we?” Arthur asked her with a gentle smile, to which her reply was to take his hand.

They discussed topics that they usually did but two major notable differences was that not only did Luna now walk beside him, she was far happier than she had ever been since she set foot in Arthur’s home.

“I won’t lie, I’m a bit hesitant to return home.” Luna revealed bashfully to Arthur.

“Then there’s no need to hurry back, I’ll delay your return for as long as I can so don’t worry about it and relax.”

Their walk ended soon after and he escorted her back home where he had some of his maids watch over her.

As he took his seat in his study, the all too familiar system window appeared before him with two quests; [Return Luna Rhyfel to her true family] and the other which seemed to pique his interest even more, [Find the perpetrators of the incident and bring about their downfall.]

While the system was being as vague as always, he was familiar with the incident that was mentioned in the second quest.

It was the attack on his family, the very one that led Luna and he to lead the lives they led.

He was already planning to have his revenge but seeing as a system quest gave him even more motivation, after all if he was going to destroy them why not raise a few levels at it.

But first, he was going to handle the Gallagher’s and Luna’s foster mother, Clara Byrne. Calling in one of his subordinates, he said, “Get a car ready, we’re heading to the Gallagher’s villa.”

“Yes sir,” he curtly replied and hurried out of the room.

But just as he left an older man stepped inside the room. He dressed casually but one notable thing was his military dog tag.

“It’s been a while hasn’t it, captain?” The man said fondly, placing some documents on his study table.

“There’s no need to tease me, I am no longer your captain and you were one of the team members who guided me on the battlefield.”

Arthur turned his attention to the files on the table, asking, “Is this what I asked?”

“Yes, it is, everything you need to know about Clara Byrne and the Gallagher family’s dirty dealings.”

“Thanks, we should get a drink sometime later but I have to leave now.” Arthur said, seeing his former colleague out.

Arthur was now equipped with the arsenal he needed to cut off Luna from the ones who made her life as horrible as it was. But this was merely the first step, and he had decided that a direct confrontation was better.

“Call Ms Luna for me, we have somewhere to go too.”

He stood by the car waiting and then she stepped out of the house, her flowing sundress emphasizing her bright demeanor.

“You said we’re going somewhere?” Luna asked, somewhat confused at the sudden invitation, as this was something that hadn’t happened since she stayed in Arthur’s house.

“Don’t worry, it’s a surprise.” He said with a gentle smile, but unlike before Luna felt a subtle chill in his tone and she couldn’t help but worry.

The Gallagher’s couldn’t have cared any less about Luna Rhyfel. She was simply a bargaining chip between them and Clara Byrne, her foster mother who was also one of the most talented businesswomen in the region.

That was why the head of the Gallagher, Alexander Gallagher had arranged for his youngest grandson, Aaron Gallagher to marry her, after all his only worth was his ties to the Gallagher family.

So in an attempt to get rid of the nuisances of both sides, they organized the marriage between the crippled foster daughter of Clara Byrne and the black sheep of the Gallagher family.

Alexander Gallagher had two other grandsons and a granddaughter from his first son and Aaron’s father, David Gallagher.

But unlike their youngest, they were far more diligent in upholding the family’s way and name.

From the first to the last they were; Anthony, Mark and Emelia.

Anthony was a high ranking shareholder within the family, and was even rumored to be the heir to the Gallagher fortune should Alexander pass away.

Mark, though not as favored as his older brother, still held enough influence both within and outside the Gallagher territory.

And finally, Emelia who though seemed the most innocent of the siblings, was the most cunning.

But even though most of the family shunned Aaron, their interactions with Luna were filled with far more disdain than his.

“Leech. Disgraceful. Shameless. Nuisance.” Those were a few of the titles the Gallagher’s had associated with her.

While her foster mother was well aware of what was happening, as always her business was of a higher priority to her than Luna’s feelings.

“We’re here, let’s head inside.” Arthur stepped out of the car, leading the shocked and slightly terrified Luna back to the Gallagher villa.

There are too many mysteries about this that we need to uncover before we can make any arrests.”The doors swung open and a middle aged man in a decorated military uniform walked inside the house, his cold gaze sweeping across the room before coming to rest on the detective and Mrs Burton.“Where have you been, Ethan Burton?!” Mrs Burton roared in anger.“I am sorry, mother. Luna gulped nervously as she walked into the imposing building before her with Arthur and Anthony by her side. Since after her accident, she hadn’t explored the world as much as she wished to. Most of her visits outside were restricted to where her foster mother, Clara Byrne, wished for her to go and the occasional visit to the hospital. And even after her recovery, Luna had spent most of her time in the Gallagher villa, after all she was turned into a bargaining chip between her only family, Arthur and Alexander Gallagher. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t well versed with business interactions. A majority of her errands given to her by her foster mother, Clara Byrne, were centred around business deals and meetings. As they arrived at the front desk, the secretary looked up from her laptop. “How can I help you?” “We’re from the Gallagher’s. We’re here to make a business deal with the company.” Arthur explained, ignoring the look that Anthony gave him. “Is that so,” she stared at

It all started when Arthur remained behind in the office with the general manager. While sitting there idly, he noticed the distraught look the man before him had after their interaction with James McHenry, Liam McHenry’s second son. While Arthur contemplated going to check on Luna, the all too familiar system window popped up, alerting him of his new mission.Turning back to the general manager, he asked, “Where is James McHenry’s office located?”…James glared at the man who barged into his office. Not only did a nobody like him have the audacity to enter his office without permission, he then threatened him.“Who the hell do you think you are?” James asked angrily, stalking towards him.Ignoring him, Arthur walked to Luna and helped to her feet, his cold gaze landing on Anthony afterwards.“This piece of trash!!” James yelled angrily, grabbing Arthur’s arm and attempted to yank it back.He was confident in his power, after all not only was he, James McHenry, the son of the owner o

“But father?”“I said leave!” Liam yelled, cutting James off. No one expected the great CEO of the McHenry Pharmaceuticals to act in such a polite manner to people deemed nobodies by James.Luna felt a bit uncomfortable. Her experience with high ranking business men was unpleasant to say the least. They were usually snobbish or had this air of superiority around them, it was something she had noticed even in her foster mother. But Liam McHenry at that moment was the exact opposite and she couldn’t understand why.Squeezing her hands together, she reassured herself. Leonard Hughes sat behind his large desk in his study, a chilled glass of whiskey in his frail hands. If he had been told this would be how the great Hughes family that had survived and prevailed for centuries would fall, he would not believe. But that was the cold harsh reality. It was ironic and somewhat of a sick joke that it all ended on the same day that it started.Like someone had chosen it particularly because of its significance. Perhaps they had.On that very day fifteen years ago, The Hughes family, Burton family and Williams family, three of the seven great had joined hands together to bring the downfall of the Rhyfel family.Their actions against them had long begun, but that day marked the finale, the end of it all. They had pooled their resources together and attacked the Rhyfel family estate with the intention to spare not a single soul. And surely they would have succeeded at that, if not for the bravery of the young flower of the Rhyfel family, Luna Rhyfel.Pushing a

It was the breakthrough he had been waiting for, but even more comprehensive than he had hoped."This is… beyond what I expected," he murmured, still processing the weight of what he held. Then, snapping into action, he pressed a button on his desk intercom. "Bring in Agent Marlowe and Special Operative Ryder."Within moments, the door opened, and two figures entered. Agent Marlowe, a sharp-eyed woman with an air of calm authority, and Special Operative Ryder, a tall, muscular man with a cold, calculating demeanor. They had been sent from the capital, handpicked by the emperor to assist in cleaning up the city, a task that had proven more daunting than either had anticipated."Commissioner," Marlowe greeted, nodding as her eyes flicked over to Isabella, recognizing the family resemblance. The commissioner wasted no time. Ian took a deep breath, knowing the next part would be the hardest to convey. “To gain more information about him, we need to surrender information on the Hands of the Hughes family.”Leonard’s eyes sharpened, a dangerous glint appearing in his gaze. The Hands of the Hughes family were their most protected assets, their identities known only to the inner circle. To give up that information was to expose the family’s very core, to lay bare their most guarded secrets. He leaned back, closing his eyes for a moment as he considered the implications. Ian waited, his breath almost held as he watched his father’s face for any sign of what he might decide.Outside the warehouse that served as Charles’ base, Laura sat in the backseat of the car, her fingers tapping against the leather seat in a rare display of impatience. There were more pressing matters to attend to.As she stood by the car that had brought her, she began to consider her next course of action. While she was granted authority over the Hands of the Hughes family due to her father, the patriarch's current state as well as her older brother, the heir apparent’s view on handling things, her authority was limited.Something as drastic as handing over information on the group whose identities were the most secured amongst all of the seven great families was not something she had the clearance to do, so in that case, she needed to seek who could. This was a one in a million opportunity and she was sure no one else but Charles could grant her the information that would help both her and the rest of the Hug

It was what the likes of a treacherous family like them deserved. The Hughes family would get no mercy from the war god, just the pain, suffering and tears they had brought upon the Rhyfel family.Their actions had birthed the unstoppable existence that was the war god, and that very same existence that their actions had created would now be what would bring about their demise.Truly ironic if one were to consider it.And so following his order while having an idea of Arthur's intentions, the prominent information broker returned to his seat, eyeing the bodyguard as he prepared to carry out his plans.“So, are you done compiling the necessary information?” She questioned, her tone hinting at the sense of urgency she felt, although she tried to hide it.“Well, I am now, lady Laura.” he replied, adjusting his posture on his chair.“Then why the delay? Is he that important of a person that revealing his identity is problematic?” Her question did little to hide not just the sense of urgen
