The Beginning of a Revenge

A man was lying unconscious on the side of the road, red stains were visible on his face and bruises were visible on parts of his body that were not covered by cloth.

The man regained consciousness after the raindrops hit his body. Zach sat down while enduring the cold air that was getting more and more bone-chilling. The expensive suit he was wearing went somewhere and now he only wore a shabby shirt with trousers.

The Gray family's guards beat him until he was unconscious, then left him on the side of the road like trash.

"God help me to repay the injustice they gave me," said Zach as he lifted his face towards the sky, letting the raindrops wet his dry lips.

Zach didn't have a cell phone or money and all he could do now was walk along the seemingly quiet street. Certainly no one would pass through this road because it was quite far from residential areas, but Zach couldn't possibly stop, letting himself die without having time to avenge his hurt.

Not long after, the sound of a car horn started to be heard, making Zach stop his footsteps, turning towards the luxury black car which had now stopped right next to him.

“You need a ride, sir?” a woman asked Zach after the car window opened.

“Yes, can I come in?” asked Zach to the point. Zach spoke with trembling lips to resist the cold that was ready to freeze all the organs in his body.

"Sure," the woman answered briefly.

After Zach got into the car, the foreign woman immediately gave him a blanket.

"Wear that so you don't freeze to death in my car," said the woman whose name Zach still doesn't know.

"Thank you," Zach answered politely.

Zach could guess that if this woman couldn't just happen to pass by and help him sincerely, there must be another motive behind the help this woman gave him. But Zach didn't know what.

"Where do you want me to take you?" asked the woman while glancing at Zach.

"You just walk, I'll show you the way."

Some time later.

"Miss, thank you for taking me to my destination," said Zach while looking at this beautiful, kind woman.

“Nothing is free in this world, sir. And you can repay my kindness someday." After speaking, the woman drove her car away from Zach.

Castarica is the woman's name, she was one of the guests at an event held by the Gray family. Coincidentally, he saw Zach walking in the pouring rain, because he felt sorry for him, he helped Zach.

"I thought so before," Zach thought to himself.

This is where Zach is now, at the Dawson family house.

Zach was standing in the middle of the room, his body shivering with cold. Not long after, footsteps were heard coming down the stairs of this big house and it was Hazel's parents.

"Why have you come here?" Keren asked sarcastically.

"I want to meet Hazel," answered Zach in a weak voice.

"Hazel is in her apartment," Keren answered. "You're adopted? Is the news circulating true?" Keren asked straight to the point, without caring about Zach's current condition.

"I also just found out about that fact today." Zach answered honestly.

"Break up your relationship with Keren! We don't want to be in a relationship with a man who has no social status in the eyes of society." Marvel speaks openly.

Zach was silent, so shocked after hearing what Marvel had just said. Zach never thought that the two people who were always kind to him would actually have attitudes that were not much different from his adoptive family.

The two people didn't even give Zach room to speak.

Helplessly, Zach watched Keren's and Marvel's faces alternately. Then he turned around and walked out of this house, like a loser.
