Chapter 3

Kenneth started to open his eyes while holding back the feeling of dizziness and pain throughout his body. He tried to get up while feeling his forehead and felt that there were traces of dried blood.

"I have to hurry home, grandma must be feeling anxious now," he said while trying to walk with a limp.

Grandma Ana waited anxiously when suddenly Kenneth heard the sound of the main door opening again but his face was covered in bruises which shocked him.

"I am home! "Sorry for being late coming home," said Kenneth and then just walked in.

“What happened to you? Why is your face so battered like this, Kenneth?" asked Grandma Ana while framing the handsome man's face with both hands.

"I?" Kenneth hasn't explained yet, but Grandma Ana seems to already know that the cause of the wounds on her face were Luke and his brother.

"They are the ones who did this so that you suffer again with these injuries." Kenneth rolled his eyes lazily and then invited his grandmother to sit down because he wanted to tell her the truth.

"Actually, I hit Alex first until he fainted," said Kenneth seriously.

"So you dare to hit him first?" Ana's grandmother was happy because Kenneth had succeeded in showing that he could fight.

“Yes, but I should receive more terrible retribution for that.” Grandma Ana smiled then took the medicine box.

"It's okay now, let grandma give you medicine to make your face better," asked grandma Ana.

"Grandma is slowly getting sick," he said softly. Grandma Ana nodded, her hands were very dexterous in treating Kenneth's wounds.

"You shouldn't deserve this bad treatment, Kenneth, because you are richer than them," said Grandma Ana, surprising the poor man.

"What do you mean Grandma?" Kenneth asked curiously. Grandma Ana took a deep breath, maybe it would be okay if she told a little about Kenneth's true identity.

“Do you know the rich Richard family?” Kenneth nodded his head who didn't know the richest family in his city.

"The Richard family, which owns the largest property business in this city, all have the hope of being able to work in their company where the salaries are well known, including me," explained Kenneth, full of hope.

“That is definitely because you are the son of the Richard family!” Kenneth immediately glared, not believing what Grandma Ana had just said.

"Grandma loves to joke," joked Kenneth.

"Grandma is not kidding!" Grandma Ana answered louder.

"Grandma, don't be angry, I just don't think this conversation is serious because it's like the imagination of someone who wants to get rich quickly." Grandma Ana looked annoyed and immediately closed the medicine box.

“Looks like you've recovered now quickly take some painkillers and go to sleep! You don't have to go to college tomorrow if you're still sick!” Grandma Ana asked as she stood up and then walked away, leaving Kenneth.

"But my face still hurts a lot, Grandma! Help me treat my pain first!” Kenneth whined but Grandma Ana didn't want to care and went into her room. Kenneth reflected and regretted thinking that his grandmother was joking even though this fifty year old woman had never lied to him.

"Mr. Jason should have met his son and explained that Kenneth's life should not be like this," said grandmother Ana, annoyed because she saw that the boy who was supposed to live safely and be rich was actually feeling pain because he was underestimated as a poor person.

On the other hand, Jason Statham and his wife were sitting at the same dining table in silence with each other, busy thinking about their respective problems that had happened recently which disturbed their minds.

"I really don't approve of you going abroad tomorrow because you haven't met Kenneth and seen him in person. What kind of father would have the heart to let a biological child live with an old grandmother for almost eighteen years?” said Clarissa irritably.

"I'm not ready, Clarissa, just like Kenneth," Jason said, making Clarissa glance sharply, showing the emotions that were burning in her eyes.

"It means?" Jason grabbed his wife's hand and held it tightly, hoping that Clarissa wouldn't be angry and prevent him from leaving to work abroad for a week.

 "Sorry Clarissa," he whispered softly.

"Jason, you should meet our son first before going abroad because my gut feeling as his mother says that Kenneth is not well!" explained Clarissa.

"But I still have work tonight and I think it will be very busy so I won't be able to Clarissa." Clarissa exhaled roughly while continuing to stare intently at her husband.

"I shouldn't have agreed when you took little Kenneth away from this house if in the end he couldn't come back," added Clarissa.

"Okay, I'll take the time to see it tomorrow morning before I go to the airport," replied Jason obediently.

For the sake of his wife, Jason fulfilled his promise to see Kenneth's condition, but when he was about to get out of the car, a call from his subordinate made him have to drive the car back to the airport.

"Please tell my assistant to monitor Kenneth's condition more intensively and accurately and then report the results to me as quickly as possible!" Jason ordered his driver.

"Okay sir!" Jason felt uneasy because he had decided not to meet Kenneth.

"Kenneth, how are you? "I heard that Alex's men took you to an abandoned warehouse and beat you up?" Leon asked feeling worried.

"I'm better, but today I didn't go to campus because someone was still sick." Leon was relieved to see his friend.

"I want to defend you, Kenneth, but the campus doesn't consider my ramblings because my family's wealth is below that of Luke and Alex's family. They have more power on campus and industry in this city.” Kenneth nodded his face looking discouraged now after hearing the bad news just now.

"So my scholarship will be revoked, huh?" Kenneth's face looked so disappointed.

"Don't be disappointed, Kenneth, higher education will definitely come your way in the future." Grandma Ana hugged Kenneth from behind so that the poor man wouldn't be too sad.

"Grandma must be disappointed in me, right?" Grandma Ana immediately pulled her body to look at Kenneth's face.

"How could grandma be disappointed with you who dared to fight those two evil brothers and made one of them faint," continued Grandma Ana, smiling.

"But my scholarship will be revoked, Grandma," explained Kenneth.

“It's okay because grandma has the money to pay for it so don't worry about it.” Kenneth felt strange and looked at Leon, who also looked confused about where Ana's grandmother got the money to pay for her college education so expensively.

"Let grandma make a drink for Leon and talk as much as you like with Kenneth so that his heart will be happy again," said grandma Ana as she got up and disappeared through the middle door that led to the kitchen. The elderly woman felt nervous because the two young men in front of her made strange faces when looking at her.

"Lately, Grandma Ana always says things that are difficult for me to understand, Leon." Kenneth looked seriously at Leon.

"I think Ana's grandmother is old, Kenneth, maybe she is experiencing memory loss because all this time she has been so strong in earning a living just for you alone that her thoughts are affecting her," replied Leon so that things didn't feel even more confusing.
