Chapter 4

The two teenagers both shook their heads in confusion at the current situation and then they both chose to leave to look for food and drink. Grandma Ana had been watching Kenneth and Leon until they completely disappeared on the busy highway when suddenly an uninvited guest appeared, a tall, well-built man wearing all black clothes approached her.

"Good afternoon, Grandma Ana. We haven't seen each other for a long time!" said Arthur while taking off his sunglasses and smiling kindly.

"You've finally come, Arthur. Is this a sign that Master Jason has given orders to pick up his son?" asked Grandma Ana, a little surprised by the man's appearance.

"Not yet," Arthur answered casually and walked into the house.

"I haven't let you in yet Arthur!" Grandma Ana followed the man and sat in front of him.

"I want to ask how Mr. Kenneth is doing now?" Arthur asked, ignoring Grandma Ana's words as he looked around the living room, which was far from luxurious.

"His situation is very bad, every day his friends always bully him, making Kenneth's life in prolonged trouble," explained grandmother Ana.

"That's good, it will train her mentally to be stronger and Mr. Jason also said that she must be eighteen years old before she can return to the Richard family residence." Grandma Ana let out a ragged breath, it was annoying to know that Kenneth still had to wait.

"Mr Jason is very cruel even though his only son is having very difficult days," interrupted grandmother Ana.

“Don't judge people carelessly. "Mr. Jason must have a good reason for doing that," replied Arthur.

"Whatever you say, Arthur," he snorted.

"Oh, I don't know how many times I've pulled out this tissue?" said Kenneth, annoyed because he felt that his nose had been itching and sneezed, making Leon surprised to see his friend.

"It seems someone is talking about you Kenneth?" Leon guessed.

"It's possible that the people talking about me are Luke and Alex," answered Kenneth carelessly.

"What are your plans after this if your scholarship is completely removed?" Leon asked, then sipped the warm tea.

"I'm going to look for a side job Leon, it would be a shame if I had to stop studying even though I'll graduate soon." Kenneth looked up at the clear sky while imagining the tough days he might go through after this.

"Don't worry Kenneth, I will definitely support and accompany you one day when we both become successful people together." Kenneth turned his gaze to look at Leon, how lucky he was to have a friend who really cared.

"You're very confident, aren't you," chuckled Kenneth and then they both laughed at the same time as they finished the fried tofu.

Time went by so quickly that the two teenagers returned to their respective homes, but when Kenneth arrived, he thought about how to get a part-time job, which certainly wasn't easy because he didn't have much experience.

"Does Grandma agree that Kenneth is looking for a side job?" Kenneth asked suddenly, shocking the middle-aged woman.

"What?! "Grandma doesn't agree with you looking for a side job that will make you even more tired, Kenneth," said Ana's grandmother.

"But I don't want to stop studying, Grandma, even though I'll graduate soon." Grandma Ana furrowed her eyebrows.

"You can still go to college and don't need to look for a second job because grandma will cover everything!" Grandma Ana answered very confidently. Kenneth felt that his grandmother was starting to talk nonsense, remembering the conversation he had with Leon this afternoon.

"My tuition fees are very large and will even increase until I graduate, Grandma," explained Kenneth, pressing his tone even more.

"No matter how big it is, grandma will definitely cover everything, so don't worry." Kenneth became increasingly confused about whether his grandma could possibly afford to pay his college fees.

"Where do you get the money from, especially since we don't have any savings?" Grandma Ana suddenly had an idea so that Kenneth could trust her.

"Grandma won the lottery a few months ago and has saved it in Richard's bank to anticipate things that happen in the future, Kenneth," answered Grandma Ana with a convincing face.

"Grandma didn't lie, right?" Kenneth asked.

"You still don't believe grandma?" Grandma Ana saw the obvious doubt on Kenneth's face. The handsome man immediately smiled, however he had to protect the feelings of Ana's grandmother, who had accompanied and raised him so well all this time.

"I believe everything Grandma says," said Kenneth firmly.

The next day, Kenneth told Leon everything about the emergency fund that Ana's grandmother had prepared for him.

"What?! "That's great, Kenneth, so you don't have to worry about tuition fees until you graduate, even though the scholarship has been revoked," Leon exclaimed enthusiastically.

"But Leon, what if Grandma Ana turns out to be lying?" Leon then looked seriously at his friend.

"We'll see, but I really hope that Grandma Ana's words are true," said Leon.

Kenneth let out a strong breath. What Leon said made him feel a little relieved, but suddenly in the class the atmosphere was very busy talking about him because many of them thought that the poor man would not dare to come to campus.

Luke spontaneously stood up and blocked Kenneth's path.

“How dare you appear before me?!” Luke snapped. Kenneth froze and felt the wind of death blowing around him again as Luke's gaze became sharper.

"He has to finish his studies. Please don't disturb Kenneth." Leon tried to intervene but Luke's hand movement was so fast that he pushed his body so that he fell into the chair.

"Don't hurt my friend!" Kenneth shouted.

"What is this?" Arthur entered the classroom when the atmosphere was very tense and all the students looked at him.

"Who are you?" Luke asked, surprised and alert because he saw Arthur who was already behind the lecturer's desk.

"Substitute lecturer, let me introduce myself, Arthur Alvaro will be teaching this class starting today!" Arthur replied, looking at the students, especially Kenneth.

"This man is very strict," thought Kenneth.

“Where are you sitting? Why are you standing in the way of other students?” Arthur asked Luke, still Kenneth.

"No! "I'm not blocking anyone. Don't worry, I'll sit in my seat," replied Luke, still threatening with his eyes.

"This kid is really arrogant," said Arthur, displeased.

After class, Jason called Arthur to find out what the latest condition of his son was. The big man sent a photo of Luke which often seemed to annoy Kenneth. Earlier, Jason had seen Luke's face which didn't feel familiar. His memory immediately began to spin to find out whose face was similar to the photo he received.

"Why does his face look so similar to Aldrich?" Jason asked himself, feeling surprised.

The established man repeatedly scratched his itchy head, feeling that there was something strange about this teenager's face. Arthur's message came back showing Luke's full name, his eyes immediately widened.
