Chapter 5

Jason immediately opened his mouth in disbelief after reading the name listed in the message Arthur sent.

"Impossible?!  How could this happen that Kenneth is friends with his own mortal enemy?'' Jason felt shocked and slumped in his chair.

"But if the last name alone cannot be used as proof that Luke is Aldrich's son, Arthur must find out more information for Kenneth's safety," said Jason, trying to remain calm.

Jason gave Arthur another order while massaging his forehead because he felt that it didn't make sense for the game that had been avoided for the sake of Kenneth's future while the results of his suspicions were currently around his son.

"I will do my best for the safety of the future heir to the Richard family," muttered Arthur, without wasting time, immediately looking for archives regarding Luke on his computer.

"Kenneth, I won't let you do whatever you want!"  Luke grabbed the hem of his collar and pushed him until he pressed against the wall, making the young man unable to move.

"You're a troublesome man, Kenneth," added Elena, working together with Luke to make Kenneth suffer even more as he took out all the contents of the bag and threw it out the three-story window.

“Stop it!  I don't have the money to buy stationery anymore?!”  Kenneth shouted when all his things were out of sight.

"This is nothing Kenneth compared to the hit you gave my brother," Luke said and Elena took out a baseball bat.

"What do you guys want?"  Kenneth asked worriedly because he felt something was wrong when he saw the strange behavior of the two of them.

"I've never thrown a punch using this, how about you try it first Kenneth?"  said Luke with a meaningful smile.

"No, don't do that," said Kenneth pleadingly.

"Why?"  Luke smiled evilly enjoying every inch of Kenneth's face which represented a lot of fear.

Luke laughed out loud seeing Kenneth's pitiful and heart-wrenching face but that wouldn't stop his desire, instead he wanted to play with other people's suffering even more.

"This is my goal, Kenneth, to see you suffer more than yesterday," Luke replied firmly.  The noisy voices of the students suddenly attracted Luka's attention, almost injuring Kenneth Arthur, who entered the room with a cold gaze.

"Maintain your ethics and dignity, young master Luke." Arthur grabbed the baseball bat and then scanned the students in the room one by one, including Leon, who had only been able to watch Luke's cruel actions in silence.

"What?!"  Luke was surprised to hear Arthur's words just now.

"Are you okay Kenneth?"  Leon asked, immediately taking the opportunity to help his friend.

"I'm fine, thank you for saving me," replied Kenneth while glancing at Luke and Elena who didn't do anything because of Arthur's presence.

“Why do you say that Kenneth?  Even though I just wanted to apologize so that there would be no misunderstandings between us."  Luke's face suddenly changed from an evil grin to a smile that exudes kindness as he straightened Kenneth's shirt collar which he had pulled earlier.

"Then let me study in peace," answered Kenneth coldly.

"How dare you?!"  Luke felt annoyed because Kenneth's tone sounded condescending to him in front of all the students and Arthur.

"Calm yourself, Luke, because Arthur seems reluctant to take our side," whispered Elena, trying to calm Luke and invite him to sit on a bench.

"Our business is not finished yet, remember that!"  Luke threatened then left the place feeling very disappointed and then everyone also dispersed because of the problem because of the story of being hanged.

"Are you okay Kenneth?"  Arthur asked worriedly.

"I'm not fine, thank you for appearing at the right time, Mr. Arthur," replied Kenneth kindly.

"Okay, if Luke does anything else to you, just come to the lecturer's room and meet me there," said Arthur.

"Yes sir," nodded Kenneth and Leon at the same time.

After the conditions were conducive, Kenneth and Leon chose to go home because the class was over, especially since the campus was still noisy because of the news about them.

"Actually, the person who was most instrumental in helping you was not Kenneth, but Arthur," said Leon.

"How could that be?"  asked Kenneth in surprise.

Leon said that he was having difficulty finding a way to divert Luke and Elena's intention to reject him. Suddenly Arthur came and said that he had left something on the lecturer's desk.

"Arthur is like a hero appearing at the right time," chuckled Leon.

"Does the lecturer really mean that something was left on the table even though I didn't see anything there at all?"  Kenneth explained, trying to remember what happened some time ago.

"It looks like the person we're talking about is coming this way, Kenneth," whispered Leon, shrugging his shoulders because he didn't know, then from a distance they both saw Arthur as if he was walking towards them.

“It turns out Kenneth and Leon are here!”  Kenneth immediately turned around to look at Arthur who was standing right behind him.

"Good afternoon, Sir!  Can I help you?"  Kenneth asked politely.

"I want to return your things that Luke threw away."  Kenneth was surprised to see that all the objects thrown away by Luke had been completely collected in Arthur's hands.

"Thank you very much sir!"  Kenneth's face lit up when he received all his belongings.

"You are lucky to have father Arthur, he is like a god to help you, Kenneth," said Leon.

"You're exaggerating Leon, you're just doing the right thing then you're going back inside," Arthur replied.  Kenneth and Leon immediately looked down quickly while feeling amazed because this was the first time a lecturer was willing to defend him even though he was just a poor student.

"Usually the lecturer will tell me to shut up when I get into trouble from children whose parents are contributors to campus funds while he is?"  Kenneth scratched his head which didn't itch.

"Yes, Kenneth, he looks so polite and dignified," replied Leon.

Kenneth put all his things in his bag because he had been outside for too long. He chose to walk differently from Leon, having been picked up by his parents, but suddenly a black car stopped right in front of him.

"Kenneth, do you want me to take you?"  Arthur offered, showing his face when the car window was open.

"I'm going to make you feel troubled. Besides, my house is near Mr. Arthur?"  Kenneth replied with a happy face.

"Of course not, after all we both have the same major," added Arthur.

"Okay, I'll go with you." Arthur could breathe a sigh of relief when his young master obeyed him.

From a distance, Luke saw Kenneth get into the luxury car and suddenly his face turned red with anger.

"Why did he ask Kenneth to get into his car so that my plan to beat up that poor young man failed?!"  Luke was annoyed and took out his emotions on the friends who had followed him this afternoon.

"Oh my God, Luke, let me go," he screamed because Luke hit his friends roughly and randomly who had been paid to join in beating up Kenneth.

"It's all your fault for looking for a quiet situation to kidnap Kenneth for so long," Luke snapped.

"But Luke is very dangerous for us if he takes steps without calculation."  Luke didn't accept the excuse of continuing to vent his emotions and kicking anything in front of him.
