Chapter 6

Arthur smiled while driving his car, imagining how disappointed Luke would be because his plans for this afternoon had failed.

"Just take it slow, Mr. Arthur will be here soon!" explained Kenneth.

"Oh yeah?" Arthur put on a confused face, pretending he didn't know where Ana's grandmother lived.

"That's my house." Kenneth pointed to a small house and saw grandmother Ana on the terrace watching Arthur's car.

"Arthur?" said grandmother Ana, approaching the car, almost cursing because she was annoyed with Jason but decided not to because Kenneth was with her.

"Grandma, Kenneth is home," he said.

“Who are you going home with Kenneth?” Grandma Ana asked, pretending to be confused.

"Introducing my new lecturer on campus, his name is Mr. Arthur, who is kind and cares about his students," explained Kenneth enthusiastically.

"Then invite him into the house, treat him well and give him something to drink, maybe you need to talk to him about a lot of things," said Grandma Ana, glancing at Arthur briefly. Grandma Ana knows that Arthur's kindness and attention is not without reason, maybe it's all just for Kenneth, not the other students.

"Thank you, ma'am," said Arthur with a smile. It turned out that Grandma Ana knew his plan well.

"Then let's go into Mr. Arthur's house!" invites Kenneth.

 "Yes, Kenneth," said Arthur.

"Sorry, there is only cold water in this house." Arthur only responded with a smile.

"It's okay, it can also quench your thirst," Arthur answered. Kenneth accompanied him in the living room, sitting facing each other with the lecturer who was actually his father's accomplice.

"Have you been getting problems from Luke and Elena for a long time?" Arthur asked matter-of-factly.

"Since I started college, they and Alex have often bullied me." Arthur was surprised that there were still more names that had escaped his observation.

 "Which Alex?" Arthur asked curiously.

"He is his brother Luke now still in care because of me," answered Kenneth.

"Luke has a brother who also tortured you on campus?" Kenneth nodded.

"Not only at college but outside campus they also tortured me without stopping," added Kenneth, his voice getting softer, feeling that all of this was very painful to remember.

"Don't worry, this will all end, Kenneth. Now the highest caste is Luke and Alex. One day you will be the one to replace them," he said convincingly, clenching his fists, feeling his emotions rising to his head.

Kenneth just smiled sweetly, thinking that Arthur's words were a motivation for them to chat again about subjects that had never been discussed before.

Time went by very quickly. Kenneth felt that his situation was safer than in previous days, even though Alex was always making plans to harm him but they always failed.

"Arthur is an angel that God sent to look after me," said Kenneth when he was with Leon in the canteen.

"Alex and Luke don't even seem to bother me anymore, Kenneth," added Leon in response with a doubtful face.

"What if it's just a mask?" Kenneth glared.

“Why do you say that Leon? I think he is a very good man.” Leon suddenly laughed, his words just now were just a possibility that could happen.

"Just be careful because we don't know for sure what Arthur is like unless he is just a substitute lecturer," explained Leon. Kenneth secretly felt that something was strange because so far it had been very difficult to find people willing to help him voluntarily.

"Okay, I'll be careful." Kenneth looked at his food which now looked bland and unappetizing.

The two of them finally separated at the campus gate. As usual, Kenneth came home from campus on foot and then Arthur's car stopped him.

“Come in Kenneth!” Kenneth opened the car door and sat next to Arthur now.

"Please explain why you always take me home from campus every day, dear Mr. Arthur?" asked Kenneth suddenly. Arthur was driving his car very casually, a little surprised.

"Because you just want Kenneth." Kenneth shook his head in surprise at Arthur's overly complex answer.

Kenneth exhaled strongly every day Arthur took him home, making him uncomfortable, but on the other hand, he felt comfortable from Luke and Alex's interference.

"Your grandmother is very diligent in taking care of the flowers," he said as he got out of the car and greeted Grandma Ana who was watering the flowers.

"Flowers are Ana's grandmother's life," said Kenneth. Arthur scratched his head which didn't itch when he heard Kenneth's answer which sounded strange.

"I saw Kenneth very happy recently, Arthur?" asked Grandma Ana after making sure the man had gone inside.

"That's what I'm here for," Arthur jokes.

"What does it mean? Useful for what?” asked Kenneth, suddenly appearing from behind because he was still behind the door.

“To eat pizza, I mean the three of us Kenneth.” Arthur showed him the pizza box he had brought.

"You're too funny." Kenneth just smiled but he felt strange now.

"Just wait a moment, young master Kenneth will reveal your true identity," said Arthur in his heart.

After Arthur returned home, Kenneth stared at the empty pizza box with a dreamy face, eating this luxurious food for the first time, which he had been taught to do simply by Grandma Ana.

“You daydreaming Kenneth?” asked Grandma Ana while sitting beside her.

"I'm confused why Arthur's father is so kind to me, making me feel comfortable at Grandma's campus," explained Kenneth.

“That is his job.” Kenneth looked increasingly confused at Ana's grandmother.

"Yes, but not all lecturers are like that." Grandma Ana sighed.

"Believe me, Kenneth, Arthur is not an ordinary lecturer," answered Grandma Ana, making Kenneth even more curious.

"What do you mean grandma?" Kenneth asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Wait a minute, something important happened when you were eight years old," added grandmother Ana.

"Just a few months until I'm eighteen, Grandma," grumbled Kenneth, annoyed at Grandma Ana's answer.

"You still remember what grandma said about your relationship with the Richard family, it's not impossible," replied grandma Ana in a tone full of emphasis and then left Kenneth alone.

“The Richards?” Kenneth suddenly became even more confused by Grandma Ana's words which made him dizzy.

Kenneth returned to his activities one night and found it difficult to close his eyes because the thought of Grandma Ana's words kept bothering him. It was still dark. Kenneth had already left for campus, running after Leon, who had arrived first.

 "Wait Leon!" called Kenneth.

"What is it?" Leon asked curiously seeing that Kenneth was breathing heavily.

"Grandma Ana said again that I am a member of the Richard family, do you believe it?" Leon immediately burst out laughing at Kenneth's hilarious words.

"That joke is really too big, Kenneth. Don't dream too big. If you fall, it hurts a lot, Kenneth," said Leon.

"But look now Alex and Luke haven't bothered me since Arthur was here," added Kenneth quickly.

“What does Arthur, Richard, those two cruel brothers have to do with you?” Kenneth stopped in his tracks and looked seriously at Leon.

"Arthur was someone sent by Richard's family to protect me from the bullies," answered Kenneth firmly. Leon froze like a statue then pinched his friend's cheek very hard.

 "Leon is sick?!" Kenneth shouted.

"I said don't dream too much, if you are a member of the Richard family, why did they waste you and let you suffer?" concluded Leon, shaking his head in surprise at what Kenneth said.

"What you said is very true, Leon." Kenneth was shocked and it became a very bitter reality if it was true.

"Don't think too much about it, now let's get to class!" Leon said, putting his arm around Kenneth's shoulder.

During class time until the end, Kenneth only showed a flat face looking at Arthur standing at the lecturer's desk putting his book in his bag.

“Why are you looking at me like that Kenneth?” Arthur asked himself, feeling surprised.

“What are you approaching me for?” Kenneth asked coldly, Arthur just smiled, not caring about the way Kenneth looked at him.
