"It’s killing me without you, Helen," Aaron said in a muffled voice. “I try, but I just don’t care anymore.

One day with you is worth more to me than a lifetime without you.” Her eyes burned on him, but she didn’t say anything, and still he stared at him frowning.

The hunger for him was growing in her like an obsession. She wanted him, more than she wanted her next breath.

He could either live with her or without her and these past few weeks had shown him how poor the quality of life was without her.

His voice deepened to a rumble, "I love you, Helen. Heck! I've loved you ever since I first saw you.

I need you by my side to navigate this new life. I need you to keep teaching me everything I need to know.

And above all, I need you because I love you so much, it hurts"
