Aaron paced around the office, his palms, sweaty and knees weak. "Are you okay?" Helen stood at the entrance of the door, her worry-laced face soothing his nerves a bit. "Breathe." She instructed him, which he did without reluctance. "What was that?" This was a new feeling for Aaron, for a moment there, he had lost touch with a part of himself. In a nutshell, he never wanted to experience that icky feeling again."You were having a panic attack," Helen replied, placing the cup of coffee on his table. "Look at me," she gently drew his face, close to hers, her breath fanning his nose lids which caused shivers of delight all over his body.Helen had been here before, experienced the worst cases of panic attacks, and hated how exhausted she had her feeling. "I want to be here for you, what happens back there?" It would do Aaron good to open up to her, a listening ear was the best antidote for a panic attack. "Are you sure you want to be there for me?" Aaron asked her, the intensity in hi
Suarez arrived a few minutes later. One would think he lurked around the building, waiting to be beckoned upon. Aaron pretended to be engrossed with some work on his system, as he typed away until Suarez settled in. “Listen to this.” No need for the fake pleasantries, Aaron wanted to have a face-to-face confrontation with Dragon and see how gruesome and oppressive he appeared to be in person. The voice record, played out, while Suarez listened to it, with rapt attention.“Can the FBI work with this?” Aaron inquired from Suarez, who tried to decipher the voice on the other end. The voice sounded familiar, although he could not place his hand on the occupant of such a gruff voice, but it, indeed, held great familiarity. “It will be a thirty to forty percent possibility, but the IT section can put in the work.” Suarez assured Aaron. With a close look at Aaron, Suarez could tell he was exhausted. “Everything will be fine, Mr. Churchill.”Or would they be? Nothing seemed right, Henry Nevil
"What do you want, Henry?” This had to be the hundredth time Aaron asked Henry Neville exactly what he had up his sleeves. The clock was ticking and dusk was upon them both.Henry was best described as a slow poison with a two-faceted motive. Aaron saw through all his damn facades. “Let's not forget our reason for meeting, son, Dragon.” The name caused Aaron to brew with an unwholesome personal vendetta.Helen watched from a distance, anticipating the worst. Everything appeared peaceful and Aaron seemed to be out of harm's way. “Should we retreat and give them space to chitchat?” The irritated voice of Lucas rang through the air, causing Helen to stir with displeasure. “Are you married or maybe in love, Mr. Lucas?” She made sure the question hit the spot, as she stared at him, waiting for a solid reply, and so did the others.“I am the only surviving son and I am currently and still very much open to love.” He gazed at her seductively, amidst the guards who watched his disgusting reac
Trust is an unbreakable bond that runs deep like the bond shared by the family. In this story my friends had taken a turn for the worse and, according to my favorite opinion, had no detour back to normalcy. “ What did he say?” Helen inquired from Aaron the moment Henry was out of sight and hearing distance. Aaron could tell that their feelings, towards the sudden repentance of Henry, remained mutual. “You don't believe in his abrupt change in character, do you?” He asked Helen the obvious, and she answered with a sharp nod.“Neither do I trust your bodyguard.” Her eyes shot lasers toward Lucas's direction. Aaron had underestimated Lucas and here he stood, gallantly, and in a position to feed him to the den of lions. “Neither do I,” Aaron replied. He had a casual meet-off with Suarez, he and the detective were bonding up. “Do you have plans for the evening?” He would rather not be left alone to sulk, a taste of Helen on the side would do him some good. Let's not forget the mind-blowing
Anna had become a ghost in the Churchill mansion, only appearing when necessary, and this evening was no exception. “Do you intend on telling Grandpa Adolph about this?” Helen inquired from Aaron, who needed a nice shower and good night's sleep…the place where the knife dug into his skin, scarred, and left a cut that would never be forgotten in a hurry. “For now, he should be less aware of my activities, it will keep him safe from harm's way.” Left for him, he did not want the old man to be involved in his business one bit. It put him at risk of the faceless killer who murdered without an iota of mercy. “He is the only family you have left and the closest thing to a parent that I have as well.” Aaron loved that grey—headed man, he always turned up for him and fought battles Aaron felt handicapped to take on. Anna decided to turn herself into a temporary housewife in the meantime. Emily had gotten lost in the wind alongside baby Ryan. She played around with some ingredients, tossing t
“I didn't kill Julian," Anna said in an angry voice, trying to keep her composure. "I'm not a murderer." But Andrew and his boss, Aaron, didn't seem convinced. They were treating her like a criminal as if she had already been convicted of a crime. She felt a surge of panic and anger, but she tried to stay calm. She knew she couldn’t prove she was innocent when indeed she was guilty as hell. But still, she tried to keep in the act.Andrew stood guard, his eyes never leaving her, while Aaron paced around the room. Anna could feel the tension rising, and she feared that things were about to get much worse.Anna was a smart woman, and Aaron knew it. As he paced the room, he could feel the tension rising between them. She sat there, silent and still, like a defeated opponent. It was as if she had already given up. He couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking, what her next move would be. He wished he could read her mind.Suddenly, his phone rang, breaking the tense silence. It was Hel
Anna feigned exhaustion as she slowly retreated to her room, away from the watchful eye of Andrew. But it was all an act - her real purpose was to make an urgent phone call. With trembling fingers, she dialed a familiar number, her heart pounding in her chest. “Come on, pick up," she whispered under her breath. The call went to voicemail, and she was filled with rage. "You bastard!" she hissed, slamming her fist against the wall. "How could you ignore my calls at a time like this?" She knew that Lucas was her only hope of escaping her current situation. ********** Aaron was determined to protect his family, no matter what. He had already lost so much, and he would not let anything else slip through his fingers. So he decided to bring his wife and son home, along with their loyal nanny, Emily. The thought of Emily quickly crossed his mind, she had been through a lot with the family, and he knew that she was feeling the stress of the situation. But he was grateful for he
Aaron, buried in his work in the office. For a little while he couldn’t concentrate, the fact he could have numerous enemies out there without his knowing. It felt like they were coming from different dimensions. Was it Anna who wanted him back so badly and would do anything to get him back even if it took the initiative to harm whomever he loved, she would do it, or Henry Neville who wouldn’t stop the recurrent threat towards his life and his family because of how he had taken everything from him. Lucas was another case, he wasn’t so sure who the man was any longer.Ariel walks in on his thoughts. “Sir, you have a package” a beige small-looking box, held carefully in Ariel’s hands.“Who is it from?” Aaron asked with so much caution. His thoughts went wide again. Was it from his enemies?“Leave it right there, you can go” The petty package was dropped carefully on Aaron’s desk by Ariel, she hoped it wasn’t something that would harm her boss as her presence was now absent from his of
