Chapter 04

Oliver and the girl made their way out of the house, the girl was still pretty shaken up but Oliver managed to keep her calm until they got into the car.

Austin ran back home, he still couldn’t believe the fact that Oliver had hit him so hard that there were now bruises all over his body.

Out of breath, he opened the door to his sister’s house, holding his chest and panting as he hurried to the kitchen for water.

“What the hell?!” Delilah yelled when she saw her son covered in bruises. She always thought that Austin was strong enough to protect himself but now he’s all covered in injuries.

“Austin!” She called, running to her son and taking him in her arms. She was so angry that her eyes had turned red already.

“Who did this to you?” She asked, swearing to make sure that whoever hurt her son pays for it.

“O… Oliver.” Austin answered and Delilah’s anger grew even more, she couldn’t believe her ears and the fact that Oliver hit her son.

“What right does he have to hit you?!” She yelled as she walked around the kitchen in anger. She had thought about making Oliver suffer.

“He has to pay for this and I don’t care what it will cost me!” She yelled again. Sienna couldn’t concentrate because of her mother’s noise.

Frowning, she closed the file she was working on and walked out of her room to see what was going on downstairs.

Whatever is going on down there she vowed to put an end to it but little does she know that her brother was in so much pain.

“What the hell happened?” She asked, gasping as soon as she saw her brother’s injuries. Delilah cried and Sienna hated seeing her mother’s tears.

“Oliver did this to him,” Delilah said, she was still crying, “he attacked your brother.” She finished and Sienna was shocked.

She couldn’t believe her ears. Everyone knows how gentle and easygoing Oliver is. He’s practically a coward that will never hit anyone.

How then is he able to injure her brother?

“What do you mean Oliver attacked him?” She asked her mother who was still crying and unable to answer.

“I only went there to talk to him, I meant no harm but he attacked me instead.” Austin explained, he lied.

“He has no right to lay hands on you!” Sienna spoke, she was checking if her brother had any serious injury.

“Also, when I went to the house, Oliver was with a girl,” he explained further and Sienna doesn’t know how to feel.

“She stood there like it was her house when it wasn't.” Austin added, he kept fueling his sister’s anger.

Sienna started feeling uncomfortable, she couldn’t believe that Oliver would move on quickly when they just got divorced so she decided to call him up.

Oliver was lost in his thoughts, he and the girl had gotten into the limousine but he couldn’t stop thinking about how to save the girl’s grandfather.

His phone rang and he picked it up to check who it was, Oliver frowned when he saw that the call was from his ex-wife.

What does she want?

“What do you want?” Oliver said when he picked up the call. His voice was indifferent and the excitement he once had wasn’t there anymore.

Sienna was taken aback, she felt uncomfortable hearing Oliver’s cold voice. He usually speaks to her with so much love and affection but this time is different.

The divorce had already changed Oliver and she felt bad but she also didn’t call him to patch things up with him but to ask a question.

“Did you attack my brother?” She asked, clearing her throat as she spoke. Her anger was rising inside her.

“Yes, I did,” Oliver answered coldly, “he insulted my friend and I’m not just going to let that slide.” He finished.

Sienna knew that the friend Oliver was referring to was a female and not only did she become even more uncomfortable but she got angry.

“Your friend, huh?” She asked ironically, she was trying to bury her anger but she also wanted Oliver to know that she was angry.

Even though what she was really feeling was jealousy, Sienna managed to control herself by breathing in and out.

“Your friend?” She asked again, “Your friend, the same one that showed up in OUR house!” She added angrily, emphasizing when she said ‘our’.

“Yes, she did show up in the house, is there a problem with that?” Oliver said. Sienna got angry by that and she slammed her hand on the desk angrily.

“You asshole,” she cursed, her voice turning cold in so much anger, “I never would have thought that you’re such a crazy bastard.” She continued.

Her anger was brewing inside her and the fact that Oliver also said his female friend was at their house was getting her angrier.

“Look, your brother deserved whatever he got, he tried to ask for the housing contract back, he insulted me and tried to attack me first.” Oliver said.

“It was only self defense.” Oliver finished with a sneer, he was also angry because Sienna never asked him why he attacked her brother, she just started insulting him.

Sienna felt bad and guilty when Oliver explained himself because she had no idea that her brother attacked Oliver first.

She knew that she was wrong for calling Oliver so that she could defend her brother but she also doesn’t want to lose face in front of Oliver.

“Are you kidding me?” She yelled.

“Even if he attacked you first, you could’ve handled the situation differently and not beat him up so badly.” Sienna added.

Oliver knew how arrogant Sienna can be, he couldn’t believe that despite knowing that her brother was wrong, she’s still trying to defend him.

Angrily, Oliver sneered and opened his mouth to say something but stopped when the girl tapped him carefully.

“We’ve arrived.”
