35. Dinner with Eugene's Mother

The table reserved by Susan, Eugene’s mother, was by the window overlooking the parking area. As many people would join for dinner, she booked a relatively large table. Julie and Jaxson accompanied her, along with Eugene’s cousin, Sophie.

When Kalix’s car entered the restaurant area, Sophie was the first to notice. Being a high school student, she was enthusiastic about nice and expensive things due to her peer influence. Her mouth filled with praise, “Wow, that’s a limited edition car, right?”

Susan and Julie turned to where Sophie pointed, expressing their admiration. On the other side, Jaxson was busy with his phone, seemingly uninterested.

As Kalix stepped out, Sophie complimented his looks. When Kalix assisted the passenger door, Sophie praised his politeness. Until the woman in the passenger seat emerged, and her face became visible to them.

Sophie widened her eyes before showing her excitement. She exclaimed, “That’s Eugene, isn’t it? She came with her friend.”
