Chapter 08: 100 Billion Dollars

"One hundred billion US dollars?" said Nate in disbelief. He looked at Peter, wanting to confirm the truth.

"Isn't it impossible that fifty percent of Mr. Lucius' income could be that much in eighteen years?" Nate asked. Meanwhile, Peter just smiled.

"I've always used Lucius' savings to do business. The turnover is very fast and the profit is also large, that's why it can reach so much in eighteen years," Peter replied.

"Business?" muttered Nate as he gave Peter a sharp look.

"He's definitely not a casual person. It would be hard for a businessman to get a million dollars. Let alone a hundred billion dollars," Nate mused.

"Yes. Lucius has done me a great favor, so I'm doing him a favor by investing his money in my business. That money will be yours when you get out of this rotten prison," Peter said as he put the ledger back in his hand.

"I have been looking for your whereabouts for the last few months. It turned out that I was too late, because you were already in this prison, which I really regret. But I was very surprised to see that you can still survive here, the most surprising thing is that you can become one of the respected leaders here," Peter continued.

"I just try my best to survive. My misfortune, poverty and misery since childhood can make me survive here," Nate replied.

"I will get you out of here soon. I hope you can be patient," Peter said as he stood up.

"I'm sorry, sir. But how did you get the helicopter from Lucius' business group? I've never seen you in the ranks of the business group," Nate asked.

"My business is very different from Lucius'. I don't live in the state of Vienna anyway. I live overseas and very far from Vienna. I got the helicopter on business," Peter replied with a smile.

"I see. Thank you for helping me get out of here," Nate said as he shook Peter's hand.

"I hope you don't get confused when you get out of here. Because I won't be helping you after I get out of here. This is my last debt of gratitude to Lucius," Peter said.

"That is more than enough. I already know what I need to do when I get out of here," Nate replied.

Peter left immediately with his heavily armed men. They left the Dark Continent with the helicopter of Lucius' business group. Meanwhile, Nate immediately returned to the field to meet all of his men.

***

It has been a month since Nate met Peter. Now Nate is three weeks out of the world's most dangerous prison. He looked well dressed as he walked down the hallway of a luxury hotel. His appearance was much different than a few months ago, tonight he even wore clear glasses.

The ash-colored suit matched Nate's appearance, who wore a black tie with white stripes. His muscular body and piercing eyes radiated authority. All the hotel employees who passed him even bowed their heads as a sign of respect, sure that Nate was no ordinary person.

"Is Mr. Sean in this room?" asked Nate as he stood in front of the guard standing at the door of the room.

"I'm sorry, sir. What is your name?" the guard asked as he looked at Nate.

"My name is Nate. I have an appointment with Mr. Sean to meet at this hotel," Nate replied with a smile.

"Please come in, Mr. Nate. Mr. Sean is waiting for you in the room," the guard replied politely as he opened the door to the room.

Nate entered the room immediately. Inside the luxurious room, a middle-aged man was sitting on a sofa. Behind him, two bodyguards stood guard. On the table in front of him were expensive wines and several kinds of food.

"Welcome Mr. Nate," the middle-aged man named Sean greeted.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Sean," Nate replied as he shook Sean's hand.

"I didn't realize you were so young," Sean said as he invited Nate to sit down.

"I just happened to be born younger than you," Nate said with a smile.

"That's right, then let's discuss the purpose of our meeting tonight," Sean said as he opened his laptop and took out several files from his bag.

"Go ahead," Nate said as he nodded in understanding. Then he took some of Sean's files and started to read them.

"This is some data on the Delta Business Group. Including data on several companies under it. Meanwhile, this file contains the financial statements of all the companies under the Delta Business Group," Sean explained.

"The contents of the report look very promising. The financial statements look healthy too," Nate said with a smile as he picked up the file.

"But the reality is the opposite of what is written here. The reason Mr. Delta wants to sell his group of companies is because he can no longer handle it all. All the companies under the control of the Delta Group have also gone bankrupt," Nate added with a smile.

"What you said. Mr. Delta wants to sell it because he wants to focus on running a new business group with his other colleagues," Sean argued.

"The Delta business group is just a small business group here in Vienna State. Data analysts and some business information brokers are enough to uncover all the contents of this business group. Some company officials also seem to have defected after realizing the state of the company. Mr. Sean doesn't need to cover it up anymore," Nate said with a smile.

"Mr. Delta must need money to bail out his son who is in and out of jail. It must be hard when his only son can't be counted on to help him with his business," Nate continued.

"You seem to know everything already," Sean said with a deep sigh.

"Of course I do. In this day and age it is not too difficult to gather information, all it takes is money. When you accepted my offer to negotiate the purchase of this group, I was even more convinced that your situation was very difficult," Nate replied.

"If you already know everything, what is the amount of your offer?" asked Sean after a deep sigh.

"One hundred million dollars," Nate replied briefly.

"Isn't that too little, sir? The Delta Business Group has five companies under it. It's probably worth ten billion dollars," Sean offered.

"Sir, you are a good negotiator. But a hundred million dollars is too much for the Delta Business Group right now. Besides, those five companies are just small businesses that have already lost out to competitors, so there's no point in asking for more. Unless you want me to lower my offer," Nate said with a smile.

"I also know that other businessmen have made very low bids for your company," Nate continued, but his words were not finished because they were cut off by Sean.

"Well, we'll take it," Sean quickly cut in before Nate changed his mind.

"You're definitely not going to pass up this opportunity. The other companies are only offering prices under ten million dollars," Nate thought as he saw the look of panic on Sean's face when he heard that Nate was going to lower his offer.

They both shook hands to signify that the deal was done. They would discuss payment, paperwork, and other matters at their next meeting. Nate then excused himself after talking to Sean for a moment about the five companies under the Delta Business Group.

"Sorry sir, I forgot to ask you something," Sean said as Nate turned to leave.

"What is it?" asked Nate as he turned around.

"If you already know everything, why do you still want to buy the Delta Business Group? Even though I'm sure you also know that the competitor that destroyed us is the largest business group in the state of Vienna, the Lucius Business Group," Sean replied, looking sharply at Nate.

"My reason is only one. Because you were destroyed by the Lucius Business Group, that's why I want to help you," Nate replied with a smile and walked out of the room. Sean seemed confused by Nate's answer.

"I want to see how they react when the small business group they destroyed becomes their biggest obstacle," Nate thought with a grin.
