Part 9

The next night,

"Do you like it, Mr. Xavier?"

The DJ's music echoed throughout the hotel hall. After the event and the announcement that Xavier was the owner of Baxier Corporation, the party ended with DJ music pounding like a night club.

Xavier placed the juice glass back on one of the tables, staring ahead where people enjoyed the music.

"Satisfactory enough," Xavier replied, his face showing little expression.

"Come. Join us. I've prepared the best and most expensive wine to welcome you."

Xavier glanced at his watch. "I have to go back. You celebrate with them."

Gio sighed, regretting his partner's words. "Can't you stay a little longer? Just a bit. Can't you spare a little more time for the celebration?"

"There's still much to take care of. Maybe, next time we can do this."

"Alright. I won't force you anymore. Take care on your way. Thank you for coming tonight."

Xavier nodded. Zeyn bowed respectfully and walked behind him to ensure his safety.

Meanwhile, a woman who couldn't enjoy the party yesterday scanned the hotel hall. Her gaze fell on two men walking towards the exit. She had to do something; she wouldn't let that thought continue to haunt her.

"Please, Mr. Young Master."

Zeyn opened the door to the luxurious car for his boss.

However, before Xavier could step in, a voice sounded, stopping his steps. He turned to find his ex-wife standing there.

"Wait! I want to talk to you."

Xavier halted. He turned with hands in his trouser pockets.

"Yo..."

"You go ahead. I can handle everything myself."

Zeyn, about to speak in defense of the woman, was immediately cut off by Xavier. He didn't want their issues to involve others.

"But, I..." Zeyn attempted to defend his boss, yet a stern gaze and a raised hand silenced him.

Unable to argue further, Zeyn left after receiving a look from Xavier, signaling him to depart without saying anything more.

"How much did you pay that foolish man?" Elnora's intimidating and condescending tone diverted Xavier's attention.

He stared closely at the woman smirking at him. "Which bank would lend money to a man like you? Oh, I almost forgot. Did you pawn your car? It seems your lofty dreams will soon lead you to destitution."

Elnora folded her arms, looking at her ex-husband with disdain. "I never expected your life to be this pathetic without me. You're even willing to brag just to be noticed by others."

Xavier remained tight-lipped, offering no response to the unfolding scene.

"So, how much did you pay Mr. Gio? Or, how did you deceive big-time entrepreneurs into believing you're the owner of the largest company in town? I can't wait to see where else you'll try your cheap tricks. You're in for a big trouble, fabricating schemes like this. You'll be ruined."

Elnora approached, leaving only a 2-step distance between them. "You're just a foolish man with nothing, including your dignity. You'll face significant consequences for these petty deceptions. You'll crumble."

She spoke with deliberate emphasis, a sly smile appearing on her face. "I know the director of the company you claim to own. He'll ensure you spend a lifetime in jail."

A faint smirk played on Xavier's face. He almost wanted to laugh at the absurdity of his ex-wife standing before him like a clown.

"Do you still care about my life? Do you regret ending our relationship?" Xavier asked, leaving Elnora silent.

Her threatening words seemed to have no effect on the man before her. Now, it was Elnora who felt at a loss.

"W... what do you mean? Ha ha... regret? You'll only dream of that," Elnora averted her gaze, stepping back a few paces.

"I'll never regret anything. A man like you doesn't deserve me. I'll make sure your downfall comes swiftly."

With a disdainful "cuih," Elnora spat on Xavier's expensive suit and confidently walked away.

"I'll follow your wish. Regardless, you once were a winner in my heart. But mark my words, you'll get entangled in the game you desire."

Xavier grinned with a crooked smile etched on his face.

He then got back into the car.

"Young master, what are you?"

"Just drive now."

Zeyn appeared uneasy, apprehensive about the young master's condition.

"No need for many words, Zeyn. Just do as I say."

Zeyn could only nod, signaling the driver to proceed.

Meanwhile, Xavier, the man, seemed to be toying with his phone, typing a series of letters on the mobile keyboard.

He then opened an email with the name of his ex-wife, checking her current location.

The crooked smile perfectly framed his face.

Location

[At Club Keryana]

He reopened his W******p application, searching for the contact under the name "Dad" there.

Without further thought, he pressed the phone icon, attempting to reach his father.

"Hello, my son! How are you? What important matter do you want to discuss with your old man, huh?"

Xavier rolled his eyes. If it weren't for needing the man's help, Xavier would never have decided to contact his father.

The middle-aged man continued to mock himself for making wrong decisions about his life partner.

"I request that, Papa, don't announce me as the CEO at the office tomorrow. Let Victor take over my position."

Not only was his father surprised by his son's sudden request, but Zeyn—the assistant—was also utterly taken aback.

The man now stared directly at Xavier.

"What do you mean, Xavier? Why Victor? You've returned. It's time for you to take your role."

Xavier shook his head. All the thoughts of his grand plan were meticulously arranged in his mind.

He had planned everything thoroughly.

"There's something I need to do before assuming that position. Whether you agree or not, you have to accept it. My decision is final."

Click.

Xavier turned off his phone.

"But, Sir? What are you doing?"

Zeyn immediately questioned Xavier.

"You just need to do your job, Zeyn."

Xavier smiled at the man. "I will ensure a great downfall in his life."
