Chapter eighty nine

As Gonzalez made some phone calls to try and find a job for the young man, Natasha and the former gang member continued talking. She asked him more about his experiences with the gang and what his life had been like since he joined.

The young man, whose name was Carlos, spoke candidly about the violence he had witnessed and participated in, and the toll it had taken on him mentally and emotionally. He told Natasha that he had seen too many of his friends die or end up in jail, and he knew that he didn't want that for himself.

Natasha listened attentively, impressed by his honesty and sincerity. She knew that it would take a lot of work to help him turn his life around, but she also believed that he had the potential to make a positive change.

Gonzalez hung up the phone and turned to Natasha and Carlos. "I've got some leads on some job openings," he said. "Let's go check them out."

They left the coffee shop and headed towards a nearby community center that had a job fair happening that
