From the darkness comes the light. Simon didn;t know exactly how long he was out. He has no idea what day it was today and how many days or weeks he was sleeping. Hell, he doesn’t even know where he was right now. All he knew was that he’s lying in a soft mattress with the smell of disinfectant reeking in the room, if he’s even in a room. Disinfectant. He was probably in a hospital, but why. That question floated in his mind for a few seconds before he finally realized what happened to him in the past. He was on his way to his party when they were blocked by armed men and fired at them. He lost consciousness and when he regained it, the car was burning. All of his men were dead, including his driver Elton and Giovanni, Marcus was probably dead too. Pain for the death of his people whom he considered friends washed over him. And with that he abruptly opened his eyes. He survived, and that only meant two things. Someone saved him from the certainty of death or those who wanted hi
It’s been a week since Simon woke up from inside Angela’s house. In the span of one week Simon had absorbed every detail of her true identity. He was still not sure if she’s part of the enemies plan or was she really an angel in disguise who was sent to help him survive. Just like her name, Angela was really like an angel wearing a white robe. Simon learned that she’s a neurosurgeon who works at one of New York’s most prestigious hospitals. Would he be considered lucky that the one who found and saved him from certain death was a doctor? Simon didn’t think so, for Simon it was quite suspicious. How come, of all people, Angela happened to pass that part of the road at the same time the ambush happened? Was it just a coincidence? He doesn’t know it, and he’s hell-bent in knowing the truth. Angela smiled as she placed the roasted chicken on the table. Simon was in the process of recovering, he was now able to walk without the aid of wheelchairs or crutches. He sat there and stared at
It’s the second week of Simon’s recovery and he’s doing really great. His wounds won’t bleed anymore, it is getting healed. The bruises on his skin were starting to disappear and his strength has returned, not one hundred percent but he’s glad to see the improvements. Whether he’ll admit it or not, he owed his second chance to the beautiful doctor Angela Craig. Though he was still not sure if he can really trust her, he was still in the process of observing her every move. He’s not letting his guards down, not again. He legs felt stronger now, he was still limping but the pain in his legs was tolerable than before. Simon stared at the mirror, he had lost a lot of weight . His stubbles almost covered half of his face, making it more advantageous for him. He pulled the baseball cap lower to his forehead. He was going out today , his first after he woke up. “Are you going somewhere?” Angela came from behind him, in her hands were a fresh set of flowers in a decorative vase. Angela
Two months had passed and Simon was now fully recovered. Good thing the bullets that hit his legs didn’t damage any of his bones. He can now walked without the aid of any crutches. All of his wounds were now healed, though he can still occasional pain it’s bearable. He fixed the artificial beard that he purchased online using Angela’s name. The doctor had offered Simon that he can stay as long as he wanted. Angela understood Simon’s situation. He needed someone whom he could lean on. Someone out there wanted him dead, and they thought that he really was but the moment they discover that he’s still alive they would go for his life again. “You know you can stay here as long as you want, I won’t mind.” She told him one morning when he said that he’s going to find some place to stay. “No one will suspect that you’re here. You know, we can pretend that we're lovers, or you’re my husband.” Angela told him those words like nothing. “You’re much safer here.” Simon didn’t want her to be in
The room was dimly lit, but it as enough for the people inside the room to see each other. The only illumination was the red yellow-lighted bulb that hung in the center. There were two tables, each ere occupied by people who were playing cards, they never paid attention to what was happening around them.“Come, sit in here.” Antonio guided Simon to sit on the vacant chair beside him. They occupy the second table of the room. “This is Bully, Roman. Bully, this is Roman, he’s the one I was talking about. He’s a new dealer, but a very good one.” Antonio sounded proud of Simon, he even tapped his shoulders as he spoke to Bully. “It’s to finally meet you.” Simon forced to sound eager and welcoming. Before coming here, he already had his assignments done. Bully is Antonio’s contact in arms dealing. Simon needed one, so he asked Antonio last week about his interest in owning one. Bully maintained a reserved look, he didn’t even blink when Antonio introduced hm, which was fine with Simon.
Simon believed that of all the bad things that has happened to him, someday he will get the justice he and his family deserves. Well, the justice part was all about getting revenge on those bastards. He has no problem with the justice system of the country, but it will never be enough for Simon. Seeing those bastards behind bars will not be enough for him. He will make sure that they will suffer according to his definition of suffering. He sliced the potatoes and put them in the boiling pot. He’s cooking Angela’s favorite beef stew. In his stay for several months under her roof, he had a little glimpse of who she was. He learned that she’s kind of a loner, she doesn’t have that many friends and she like to keep herself from those she knows. Simon had learned to trust Angela when he knew that she’s not some kind of spy from his enemies. She’s just someone who’s willing to help him, and she’s not so nosy so it’s a plus factor for Simon. Tonight, he’s going to cook her favorite meal
A silent thud woke Simon up from his slumber. His automatic reaction was to grab the gun tucked beneath his pillows. After he acquired that gun, he made it a point to always keep it near him especially if he’s asleep. Angela didn’t know that he’s armed, she might be horrified if she did. Moving so slowly, Simon got out of bed. He made sure he's going to make some noise. Someone was inside the house, he's sure of it. He may be asleep but he knew the thud he heard was not something to take for granted. With a gun in hand, he listened to any noise outside his bedroom, and there's none. He took a deep breath and turned the doorknob, he did it very carefully to avoid making any sound. Angela's room was closed, and the dimly lit living room looked normal. ''Fuck, it must be a dream,'' Simon uttered to himself. He rubbed his face with his palm. He was getting antsy lately. It must be the stress and all. He was about to go back to his room when he heard a muffled sound. It came from A
Simon woke up feeling numb. He couldn't feel anything but his mind was alert mode. His hands were tied and bound at the back and so were his feet. No. His whole body was being wrapped with something. A rope? Or a chain perhaps? The last thing he remembered before he lost consciousness was the sound of several gunshot. He knew it was directed at him, but he can’t seem to identify which part of his body sustained the shot. Perhaps it was not a fatal shot since he regained his consciousness. “I can’t wait to go back and have my way to that bitch. She’s feisty, man. I love fucking feisty bitches.” The two laughed like it was a joke to violate some women. Simon heard someone speak, he’s sure that it was one of the men. He grimaced at the thought that these bastards are going to violate Angela. A part of him regretted that he didn’t move out of her house right away. “The boss specifically told us to kill this bastard, not to rape that woman.” The other person reminded me. If only he
