Chapter 4

“What are you doing here, Mia? Are you with this fool?” Alessia bombarded at once. She turned and stared at Pharrell maliciously then glared back at her friend.

Mia went silent for two seconds before parting her lips, “And you, what are you doing here? You didn’t tell me you left…” Mia had not finished talking until she heard someone screaming Alessia’s name at the other section of the building. Without a doubt, she knew it was her boss.

“Sorry for the interruption, I will get back to you later.” Alessia smiled and took her leave.

Her new boyfriend wanted them to quickly shop so that they could go back home. He had some business calls to make, so spending all the time at the shop was not good for him.

“Yes, darling. You called me.” Alessia replied seductively.

“I thought we came here to shop? What were you still doing over there?” Donald; her new boyfriend inquired.

“Sorry darling,” She kissed him, “I was discussing with a friend.”

“Okay, okay. Enough of this already. Just pick what you love and let’s get out of here.” Donald said.

Alessia kissed him again, then walked to the wardrobe where she was going to select the dresses she wanted. Tops, skirts, trousers and the rest… she all choose them.

While Alessia was busily picking what she loved, Donald sat on one of the luxury chairs and crossed his leg above the other.

“Hey, you.” Donald said, and Pharrell turned only to realize the filthy figure who yelled at him was now calling on him, “Yeah, you.” Donald confirmed.

“Get me a glass of water, some fresh one.” He said, dismissing.

“Me, get you water? As for what? Servant or employee?” He maliciously gazed at him before saying.

“Don’t you work here? Aren’t you a cleaner in this place?”’Donald judged him from his looks before saying.

Donald widened his eyes at the young man’s words. He glared at him again carefully. “But I know this face. Weren’t you the one who uninvitedly burst into my office?” He asked pointedly. “What are you still doing here? Hope you aren’t stalking my girlfriend and I?” He questioned.

“You should relax, okay. Have got nothing to do with either you nor her.” He said and started walking away from him. But Donald cleared his throat soon enough.

“You had better stay away from her, because I won’t tolerate your stinky self around my woman.” Hearing this, Pharrell signed and walked away.

It didn’t stay before Alessia came back with a whole lot of clothes in her hands. Donald’s eyes widened and his mouth formed an O just from seeing this. But then his face quickly straightened. Alessia was so excited about the clothes that she failed to notice the look on his face.

“Baby, I am almost done shopping, it’s only a single item…” She had not finished talking when Donald frowned.

“I already told you that I have other things to attend too. Also, why do you still need to shop? Are all these clothes not enough?” Donald asked, inspecting the clothes one after the other.

She simply smiled, held him from the back and kissed him on his neck, “Babe, you know that I have to dress well for you. Do you want the ladies at the office to look down on me? They’ll start saying I am the CEO's girlfriend but I can’t even dress well. Is that what you want?” She asked, behaving like a little girl.

“Okay, okay. What’s left, be fast about it and let’s go.” Donald said, glaring at his wristwatch.

Alessia left for the site reserved for bags. She had no nothing that looked close to the good bags she saw in there.

“Here, lady, I want this one.” She jerked the bag she was referring to and handed it to the sales lady.

The lady took the bag but managed to smile before parting her lips, “I believe you came here with that man seated over there. I’m sure you know the price madam.” When the sales lady was speaking, Alessia had a charming smile written over her face, but then she got back to a natural state.

“How much does it cost?” She asked,

“6000 dollars madam, it is from a limited collection.” The lady stated, still keeping a smile on her face.

Alessia’s face creased at first. She knew of the bag, and she knew it cost a fortune. But 6000 dollars? That she had no idea of.

“Add it to my bill, my boyfriend is rich. He is gonna get that for me.” She stated, and the lady nodded her head.

After packaging all the clothes and the bag, the lady raised her head and gazed at Alessia, waiting for her to settle the bill.

“Let me get my boyfriend, he is seated over there.” With a faint smile, she said then hurried to get Donald.

“Darling, please come and settle the bills and let’s get out of here.“ She said, curving her hand around his wrist.

As they were approaching, the lady had calculated everything. Once they stood in her face, she handed the paper to him.

“What? Why would the bill cost 17,000 dollars? Alessia, what did you get that amounted to all these?” Donald asked, judging from the little amount of clothes that were before him.

Alessia opened her mouth to speak up, but the sales lady was fast enough.

“Sir, she added this bag to her clothes.” She said holding the bag in hand.

“How much does the bag cost?” He asked, his voice void of emotion.

“6000 dollars.”

“What? Alessia come with me, I would like to talk with you.”

Alessia followed right behind him. When they were a little far from the sales lady. He parted his lips, holding her hands tightly. “Why would you go ahead to pick that bag?” He asked, but he noticed Alessia’s face creased a bit so he rephrased his question.

“I would have loved to get the bag for you, but my mother thinks I spent a lot of money. She wants a woman who can help save and not spend as well.”

“If you can stick to this plan, like helping me to overcome my expenditure, I promise that she will pick you as my wife. What do you think?” He asked, carefully staring at her to see how she was going to react.

“Okay, darling. I would let go off the bag.” Alessia said, but she was not happy about it.

That decision of hers was certainly not coming from her heart. She had managed to get this big shot here as her boyfriend, and he couldn’t even get her what she wanted. She needed someone who was going to fulfill her life fantasies, and not some baby boy crying about his mom’s words.

When she started her relationship with Donald, she thought she had succeeded in reaching the top. But what she saw confirmed that she needed to top up her game if she wanted to play with the big boys.

“How much does this bag cost?” Pharrell held onto the pink bag that was lottering around. The design was interesting and he wanted it for Mia.

The lady was about to respond but Alessia came out from nowhere and yelled at him. Her eyes widen when she turned and discovered he was the one asking after the bag she had abandoned at the counter.

“Why do you want to know the price of the bag? Can you afford it? Do you think it’s worth your status?” Amelia bombarded at once.

“This bag is worth 6000 dollars. Do you think you can afford this?” She asked and then saw Mia burst from the other section of the wardrobe.

“Mia, don’t tell me you are now dating him? Have you forgetten that he doesn’t have a penny? I hope you aren’t the one spending your money on him?” Alessia mocked before saying.

Pharrell cleared his thrust then parted his lips, “I want to buy this bag. Mia, do you love it?” He asked.

Mia lowered her head but raised them soon enough. “Yes, I want it.” She said, her voice growing softer.

She was certainly not going to let this occasion pass her. Denying an expensive bag because of her friend? She had already rejected him, so Mia could have him.

“What is going on here?” Alessia approached her supposed friend and asked more seriously.

“Humm…” Mia started talking, “It’s just what you are seeing, Alessia. We are shopping.” She said, her voice low and intimidating.

For a moment, the hall went silent. Mia was busily going through the bag while Alessia folded her hands and was glaring at her friend.

[Host, the counter attack system has begun!]
