Chapter 5

“You are shopping with this idiot? Do you think he can get you anything in this lucrative shop?” Alessia asked, trying to persuade her friend. “Have you forgotten that I broke up with him because he had nothing to offer? Are you willing to commit that same error, Mia?” Alessia stated, yet there was no response from Mia.

She was staring at the bag until a deep and husky voice tempered with her peace. “Isn’t that the bag I asked you to deposit? What is this piece of rag doing with it? Can he even afford it?” Donald asked, raising his hand in the air.

“I doubt so, hun. He can’t, I don’t know why Mia is wasting her time with him here. I don’t even know what he gave her.” Alessia placed her hands on her middle before responding.

“The funniest thing is the fact that he keeps following me around. I have told him already that I no longer want to be in this f*cking relationship. He is surely using Mia to get to me.” Immediately she uttered this, Pharrell’s lips edged up in a brilliant smile. He was forced to respond even though that’s not what he wanted. He intended snobbing her till they got out of there, but looking at things, it was best he defended himself.

“If you think I’m still interested in this relationship then you are crazy. I am no longer interested. If you see me here, that simply means I am shopping. So can you please get off your high horse?” He said, making use of the sweetest voice possible.

Hearing him speak, she mocked and clapped. “You are just a bloody liar. I saw the shock on your face when I told you it was over. You literally had tears in your eyes, so don’t tell me that rubbish.”

“If you are really telling the truth of not wanting to be in a relationship, what then are you doing here? And why are you in my friend's company? Because as long as I remember, Mia has never paid attention to you.”

“Hahaha…” Pharrell started laughing. “You think I am entitled to you? What makes you think you can ask silly questions as it used to be in those days? I can go anywhere I want and where I feel like visiting.” With a grin on his face, he leashed out.

“Those days you kept asking to know where I was, what I was doing and with who I was. Those days are gone, do you get me? We are no longer together so you can’t ask me those questions.”

“Don’t you ever ask me any question concerning my whereabouts, or what I am doing. And one last thing, I am not the same person you use to date. As you can see, there’s a clear difference now. I am now a changed person.” Pharrell added vehemently. His tone was quite aching. He had never spoken to Alessia in that manner. It was so frustrating that she glared at herself just to be sure he was speaking to her.

“You are now a changed person? How can this be even possible?” She said, doubting his words. “A few hours ago you were on the point of shattering into pieces when I told you I used your money to get myself new clothes. How come you are now a changed person?”

“It's funny because you’ve amassed so much money to the point of getting this bag for Mia.” Alessia mentioned.

Donald placed his hand on Alessia’s shoulders before uttering, “Don’t let this man here get to you with his blind words. Do you really think he has that money he is talking about? He is just trying to impress you, nothing more. If not, he has no single penny with him.”

“If you really had the money as you claim, then you would have gotten this bag. Buy this bag and prove to us that you got some cash with you.” Donald faced Pharrell and affronted him.

Pharrell’s lips edged up in a smile. He parted his lips and was about to speak when he got interrupted by the system.

[Host Pharrell, the engagement system is -25%. Do something about this.]

“Is that how little you think of me, dear CEO?” He pockets his hands in his trousers and started laughing. “I would not only buy this bag. Because if I do, I’ll be insulting myself before you guys. “I will make sure I pay for every stuff in this shop.” Pharrell said confidently, causing a smirk to escape from Donald’s lips.

“It would be my pleasure to watch you rant and do nothing.” Donald declared.

Angry about his speech, Pharrell calls out on the sales lady who was attending to another client in the other ward. She left the client and rushed to him.

“You called me Sir, is there anything I can do for you?” The asked.

“Yes. I want you to stop proposing to all the clients here, because I am going to pay for everything in this shop.” He made his intentions know.

The girl began by laughing. It was a funny and embarrassing moment for her. A struggling worker batched in and asked him to stop proposing items because he wanted to buy the whole shop.

“Do you have an idea of how much all that cost, Sir? It is big money. The kind of money I doubt you’ll be able to afford.” The sales lady said.

“Can you calculate all what ton have in this shop and let me know? Let me know how much they all cost. I’m willing to pay for the all.” He insisted.

Shocked and devastated, the lady took some time for herself before reaching to the counter. There was no way she was going to be harsh with him. Her boss had warned her never to be rude towards a client. So she was going to do just as he requested.

When she reached to the counter and started calculating all the products in the shop, Donald and Alessia were now attentive. They weren’t going to miss out on a single detail.

Twenty minutes passed. The lady was now done with everything. She raised her head, and faced Pharrell. “Sir, your total cost is 9000 dollars.”

“Hahaha…” Donald laughed and laughed. “Do you see him like someone who has 9000 dollars? You should be stupid for calculating everything that was in this shop. Instead of attending to your clients, you are paying full attention to this time waster.” At this time, Alessia was standing right behind him and clutched her little hand bag to her petite body.

After yelling at the sales lady, Donald made a U-turn and stood in front of Pharrell. “If you make this sell, then I’m going to lick your shoes. I am going to lick them in such a manner that, they will never get dirty.”

Pharell smiled and trailed away. Tucking his hand in his pocket, he brought his card and handed it to the sales lady. “This my card, you can withdraw the money from here.”

Still doubting this affair, she proceeded to take the card. She swapped it and the transfer was successful.

“The transfer was successful, Sir. You’ve paid for all the stuff in this shop. Thank you so much.” The lady said in joy.
