RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION
Total silence. Célio is still standing, listening.
Tito is in an embarrassed beat, "We're still getting organized..."
Sandra screams, "Get organized before I'm raped!"
Célio reacts, "Turn your mouth over there, Sandra! I know who can help us."
Sandra turns to him, "Who?"
"It's Carina Sousa."
Sandra got a pretty strong angry reaction to the pronounced name, "That dead-fly Carina, getting involved in public security matters? She trembles just because someone holds out a gun!"
"I'm not saying that she will be the next Wonder Woman, but she can help us with—" Célio cleared
his throat, "Advertising. There is the software called Corel Draw, which she knows how to work like never before."Tito says, "I've never heard of this girl, but if she can help, send her over tomorrow or today if you find her."
Célio is glad to help, "Leave it to me, Seu Tito!"
Cássio finally arrives, "And so, Célio, what job will be today?"
Sandra turns to him and smiles, "Good morning darling!"
Cássio barely blinks for Célio, he goes straight to the beloved girlfriend, "Little Sandra! Hi, my love, did you come to work too?"
Sandra almost has a stroke only with the hypothesis, "I came, as a citizen who pays taxes, to demand a fair return from the taxes with the government."
Cássio got frozen
and understood nothing.Célio is mocking him, "She came to ask Seu Tito to help the police station."
"Aaaaaahhh, okaaaaay. Anyway, I'm going to work. The bills keep coming and my dad doesn't answer the phone, I don't know why."
Célio rolls his eyes. He separates some posters and gives them to Cássio, and also the glue, "There, go ahead and paste it on Carijó Street."
Cássio is a joker, "The street where Monica lives, right, Don Juan?"
The machine gun gaze of Célio sends shivers down Cassio’s spine and he leaves immediately. Sandra goes behind.
Tito questions Célio, "How does this simple boy have the courage to go out with this girl so awful and troublemaker?"
"Midnight Mysteries, Seu Tito; and don't worry, I'll talk to Carina."
After Célio left...
MALTHUS SNACK BAR
Carina, Monica, and Rosa are on the counter. Célio is with them, some posters in hand, and the conversation about the plan already started. Aurélio is on the other side of the counter.
Carina is thankful, "Oh, thanks for remembering me, Célio. Of course, I’ll agree to help. Mayor Tito deserves our support. And it's for our benefit too."
"You have a noble heart, Carina. You and Annie should be sisters." Aurélio mentions "Annie" looking at Monica. The hint was captured and she lowers her head.
Célio goes on, "As we are going to need from ads, nobody better than you with your gift to the arts. We’ll use your talent to convince our neighbors to help."
"People who move from Greater Victoria to Royal Hill think that the police here are public services, but not. It's private. Only the high ranking that takes care of the interests of the Hiller crown is financed by public money."
"That's why the Debora Park and Aurora Village police stations work well. But here..."
Rosa says, "Yes, the people have to wake up. Yesterday Chief Roldão found a suspected gang who is on the sidewalk late at night. I thought I was going to be attacked."
Célio says, "They know that here we are still getting ready and want to enjoy it. Chief Roldão is there struggling with a computer that turns itself off and is Windows 3.0"
Carina notices the ‘posters’, "I just will need better material. Chamex or A4 is not the best option. Very easy to tear or fade in the rain. Good poster paper is couché."
Aurélio is astonished, "See how this girl knows everything?"
Rosa completes, "Take it easy, dear. There is in the stationery."
"You fell from heaven, Rosa!"
"I fell from Bluffington to here!"
Everyone's laughing. The door
opens and Annie and Jonas pass in. Monica and Annie look at each other, the two are embarrassed. Then, between Aurélio and Jonas; he greets the boy with the head, and Jonas suddenly hugs Annie sideways as if to say "she’s mine!""Let's sit there, love. The counter is full." Jonas says to her but glaring at Aurélio.
The two move further toward the corner. Célio perceives the mood and turns to Monica. Rosa and Carina keep converging.
"Is there a problem, Monica? You faded as soon as Annie came in, and you didn't even go to greet her."
"It's friend problems, Cé. It’s not worth taking your time."
"Well, you are my friend too. If you want to talk..."
Monica disguises herself without being impolite, "Later, let's get back to your subject."
Célio laughs lightly, "My subject... As if the mayor were me..."
Monica thrills him, "Who knows, in a few years, I may not be voting for you as mayor of this neighborhood?"
Célio gets admired, "Really, Monica?"
"Of course! I said that you will go far."
"I may even go, but I don't know if wanna go alone..."
Monica feels goosebumps on the back of her neck. Célio is not flirting; he speaks seriously and with his heart. They are impressed; face each other for a few seconds. When Célio starts to take the courage to lean over and kiss Monica...
...Aurélio cut the romantic mood by hitting the cane juice cup on the counter!
He says, "Your sugarcane juice, Monica!"
Monica got scared, but smiles at Aurélio and picks up the glass to drink. Célio strafes him with his gaze, but Aurélio just smiles like a nut and walks away to see the other customers.
At Annie and Jonas's table, she is reading the menu and Jonas is looking at Aurélio in anger.
Annie asks, "Have you chosen, my love?"
"He interrupted their ‘love’ as if he were jealous!" Jonas replies gritting his teeth.
"Whose is the love?" Annie looks up.
"Monica and Célio were about to kiss and he interrupted. Malthus did it."
Annie gets touched, "Oh, how beautiful! They really like each other."
Jonas was going to insist, but Aurélio approaches them, "Have you already chosen?"
"Yesterday the savories were very fresh, Seu Aurélio." Annie praises him sweetly.
But Aurélio is distant, "Someone said that it’s necessary to change the oil."
CARIJÓ STREET
Cássio is on the street, pasting the posters on the light pole in front of Ricardo's house. He emerges from the living room window and sees him. In a moment, he leaves the house and approaches him.
"What are you doing there, boy?"
Cássio reads, "‘Special meeting with the residents of the Rhodia River Environmental Park this Saturday at 3 pm at the Residents' Association’. You are invited."
"This paper is not suitable for the poster, it has to be coated. And you don't say a meeting, you say ‘assembly’. Other than that, it's good to know."
"You are invited."
Cássio moves away, surprising the neighbor a little. Ricardo remains reading the warning with a mysterious smile.
PRAÇA DA GRANJA - DAYEd is riding his bike when he came across Miriam sitting on the same bench, now without the book. She is meditative and worried. He stops the bike beside her and she realizes, waking up from a trance."How are you, Miriam?""Hi, Ed, it looks like you were right. They are attacking my almost-boyfriend.""'Are they' in the plural?""There are more girls who like Chief Roldão. I'm not the only one. And now I'm here thinking about how I'm going to do it in front of them."Ed says poetically, "In love or war anything goes, right?"Miriam smiles, "I, at least, intend to play fair.""That's the way it’s said. Huh, Cassio scolded me early in the morning, fearing you would get crazy.""I talked to Sandra earlier. It's okay.""I’ll go on to pedal, burn the calories I acquired in those cheese pastries.""Cheese pas—"Miriam doesn’t finish, Ed straightens up on his bike and rides again.STREETCarlos goes this time in uniform and with the police car to the same house where th
STREETS - NIGHTSandra is going home, and this time Cássio accompanies her."Honey, I will be forever grateful that you are accompanying me. But, I can't help thinking about the time for you to go to yours."Cassio is with hilarious confidence, "Don't worry about me being a male, woman! My role is to protect you, this way the father-in-law expects.""Don't let my dad hear you.""While they don't improve our police station, Roldão alone cannot be at the same time everywhere. And I protect you because I love you."Cássio and Sandra are so moved by the conversation that they don't notice that they are approaching the same group from yesterday. And the same young man in suspicious clothes is approaching them.Sandra is the first to notice, "There, Cassio, it's they again!"Cassio acts as a protective comic, "Don't worry, dear! Stay behind me."They try to go unnoticed, but the young man gets even closer. Cássio steps forward and "faces" him."High there, you freak! What do you want, huh?"
MONICA’S LIVING ROOMMonica is attentive to the computer, feverishly typing her second book. She hasn't even received a response from the first publisher. She stops for a while, checks her notes and drafts, and then types again. She starts speaking what she's typing."She shivered at the light touch of his fingers on her pink and pure face. He, however, an accomplished gentleman, knows that she is innocent and does not advance like a truck driver— " She catches herself, "What a horror, Monica, don't offend Sula Miranda fans!"Monica checks her draft again, "I'm glad we now have a computer, if it were a typewriter, I was f—"Annie's voice interrupts Monica right in the "f-bomb"."Monica!"Monica suddenly gets up and goes to the door, opening it. She smiles when Annie passes inside, and immediately grimaces as if chewed drooling okra at the sight of Jonas entering with her."Good evening, Monica." Jonas greets her coldly."Monica," Annie says, "we need to talk to all three.""Sit down, p
POLICE STATIONCarlos is at his desk, struggling with the monitor to keep it on. He doesn't realize that Ricardo is approaching, the same petulant face he does. He sits down without being asked."They don't make computers anymore like they used to, right? This one seems to be from the time of the MS-DOS."Carlos tries to decipher what Ricardo hides, a mysterious little guy, "MS-DOS is still used for some things, Mr. Oliveira. I thought you knew.""Of course, I know. Just like Sandra Bullock’s movie."Carlos smiles, he knows which film is, "I just wonder if you would be Sandra or the villains who set up all the counterfeiting via the net to blame her.""No, I don't know if it would come to that.""What do you mean, you don't know? These things are not defined like that."Cleverly at the crucial moment, Ricardo diverts the subject and leaves Carlos in the air, "Chief, I came here to tell you that my neighbor Anestor has already contacted Escelsa to pay off what he stole today."Carlos st
GRANJA SQUARE - DAYEd is listening to a plan by Sandra and Cassio against Fabio in favor of Fabia Peres. He remains in the background; the couple didn’t see him.Cássio objects, "He will be surprised that I never asked him to talk about this subject. We don't speak normally, since we were children.""Well, so as not to be so direct, start by asking another matter and be subtle", She continues, smart, manipulative, "My love, are you sure you can do it? It's because, if not, I can call someone else—"Manipulation works. Cassio gets up, "Hey, what is this talk? Of course, I can! I'm not as dumb as you think, dear.""That's what I thought. So, let's put that plan out this afternoon."Ed straightens up and leaks out of his bike without going through them this time. He's reacting upset."Jeez, how Sandra is sick! What does she want with this gossip?"MALTHUS SNACK BARAnnie returns after plans and early morning celebrations. Aurélio was attentive to the television nailed to the ceiling, but
FÁBIO’S LIVING ROOMFábio gets up quickly and gestures for Ed to hide in the bedroom.Fábio whispers, "Come on, Ed! Gone hiding in my bedroom! Hopefully, he didn't notice your bike."Ed whispers back, "Damn, it looks like he also came by bicycle to come so fast!"Ed gets up and goes to Fábio’s bedroom. Luckily for Fábio, the door was closed. Fábio goes and opens it.Cassio talks with forced intimacy, "What's up, Fabio? How are you?"Fábio also forced affinity, "Well, man, what’s up? I think you missed home. If you want to listen to 'The Four Seasons', it's next door.""Célio ties up in Legião Urbana too?"Fabio takes a deep breath. This is going to be difficult, "No, it's Vivaldi's. Classic songs, he keeps bothering me with these boring songs.""Wow, he said that you are the one who bothers with your Axé music on high."It's the most clueless moment. Fábio looks at him coldly.Cassio disguises himself, "But, I didn't come to talk about Célio! After all, as you said, I don't have that c
MALTHUS SNACK BARCarlos gets in. Aurélio is putting more snacks in the showcase.Carlos speaks friendly, "I came here to see the diner where everyone talks.""Hey, how are you, Chief?"Carlos sits down, "I didn't come on an official basis. How much is that coxinha that looks great?""R$ 1.00.""Complete with a soda can, please."While Aurélio serves, he says, "Rarely do law enforcement officials speak 'please'."Carlos laughs, "I know how to separate things. I didn't say 'please' when Monica was mugged this Monday.""Were you the one who helped her? Poor little girl, dude, the girl was taking her manuscript to be tested by a publisher. She is trying to release a book of romance, love, things like that.""Yes, the boy thought it was money.""But to offer to help me here, nobody wants to, right?"Carlos starts to snack, "Hmm... If I know of anyone interested...""Yeah... Not that I'm in need, but a little help is always welcome. And I always think that it helps the young man more than m
STREETSCélio and Cássio are walking through the streets, with more posters to paste. They are on another street, pasting each other apart by a lamppost.Célio asks, "Where were you earlier that I didn't see you after the snack bar?"Cássio answers without care, "I went to have a love affair and Sandra asked me for a favor.""What favor?""Ask Fábio if he—", he interrupts, "Nothing important."Too late, Célio has already approached him, "Did you go down my street and visit my worst neighbor? It's now that you're going to tell me.""Célio, I think it won't be good for a lot of people to know about this. It was a favor that Fábia asked for.""What did this bitch ask for?""She asked—" He interrupts himself again, "So, you see, you keep confusing me and get what you want from me!""So I’ll just tell you one thing, Cassio: when you start getting into trouble because of those favors of people who wouldn't even get along with us when we were kids, don't count on me!
