CHAPTER NINE

His words broke into stutters as he tried to find his words but he found it difficult.

"Sir please I need this job. I'm sorry for what I did to you. I don't think you were just a bagger and all I did was for the best interest of the company." His eyes moved erratically, threatened by fear.

Ethan's eye blinked knowing way too well that the security officer was trying to manipulate him.

But it was somehow interesting and he wanted to find out more about this man. And thanks, he had the best more than knew everything about him.

"So Mr. Blake, can you tell me more about Mr. Austin here? What's his name and why did my grandfather make him so immune." He outlined the details of every single thing that he wanted to know about him.

Mr. Blake stammered for a while and his hands skimmed through his head as he did not know much about him.

"Sir, I don't know much about him." He replied.

His face flushed With disappointment. "How can you say that you do not know anything about him?" He inquired.

"The thing is, your grandfather brought him here and kept him there. Doesn't have much to do and he didn't give any information to me." His head was bowed and he was angry at the same time that the slut had put him in so much trouble.

But every single obstacle that stood in his way to finding out more about this man, only made him more relentless.

And from the look on his face, he did not look like someone trustworthy enough for him to rely on for the truth.

"My secretary might know something about him. Mr. Geftan noted that he was going to forward his application to her."

He snapped Ethan off from his thoughts.

"And you are still here?" He frowned.

Without another word, he pulled away from the point where he was standing and walked over to the secretary.

For the first time, she noticed that her boss was in a situation that was difficult for her to even describe.

His face was sweaty and he seemed to have lost his balance and confidence all of a sudden.

"Mr. Blakes, is anything wrong?" She inquired without a single ounce of hesitation to get up from her seat.

"I need you to do me a quick favor. Do you have the file of Mr. Austin?" He inquired, letting out a despair.

His heart raced fast, beating hard against his chest as though it was going to find its way through.

Miss Victoria's fingers skimmed through the computer that was before her and after a few seconds, she paused.

"Yes sir, we have them here." She announced.

He breathed out an air of relief.

"I need a copy of it this instant." His spirit was elevated a little bit.

"Okay, Mr. Blakes."

Miss Victoria's hands continued to work on her computers, accessing Mr. Austin's files until the printer made a cracking sound and his file screened out from it.

She was about to head to it and get it for him but he stopped her before she could even get to make a move.

"I will get it." He announced to the utmost amazement.

She was about to object but did not even get the chance to. Walking swiftly over to it, she picked up the papers and walked back into the office.

He bowed slightly and reached out the files to him.

"Thanks, Mr. Blakes." Ethan appreciated trying to wand off the panicking manager. He knew that he had become excessively powerful but it wasn't enough for a normal human to shake at the sight of him.

Expect, of course, those who decided to make fun of him.

Surely they would tremble in the end.

His eyes skimmed through the outlines of the documents and when he got to the end, his face squeezed into a frown.

It turned out that his father had thought that he might be his missing son but after the test was conducted, he was wrong.

But his father could not return him to the slum that he came for so he decided to give him a life in the company.

"It's such a pity that people of your nature tend to forget their past so easily."

"It would have been easier to forgive you but after seeing this. I just can't imagine." The anger on his face was vivid like that of a fierce lion.

"I'm sorry Sir. I promise that I am going to make it up to you if you give me a chance. Please, sir, I have a family to find and I need this Job." He pleaded, moving over to him to touch his pants but he stopped him

"Now you realize what I meant right? When I told you that you weren't even worthy to lick the dust off my shoes."

"Sir, please. Even if you are not doing this for me or my baby, I can show you a picture of her."

"Can you please stop being so manipulative already? If you want you out of the company, do you think that you will be here?"

His eyes brightened immediately.

Ethan knew that he was lying about having a baby too. A lie that he had told his father to help him but he found out about it.

But for the sake of his missing son, he was retained.

"Does that mean that you are keeping me talking?"

"I wonder if he thinks that I am such a fool." Ethan thought in his head his anger rising badly as the minute passed by but he tried as much as possible to keep calm and even force a smile through.

"Well, you never can tell." He replied.

Immediately he said the words, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you,s o much appreciate it." He said, rising slowly from the floor that he knelt but all of a sudden, Ethan's constancy changed.

"What do you think of me, a fool,?" He flared.

"Sir?" Mr. Austin's heart shook almost immediately.
