Chapter 6

"Shit!" Jasmine had just arrived at her house. She threw herself down hard on the living room sofa in a reclining position and stared at the ceiling of her living room blankly. "I'm unlucky today, bitch!" Jasmine screamed and banged her foot on the sofa.

Ella who heard the sudden loud noise, went straight to her. "What's wrong, Jasmine? You took me by surprise." She checked on Jasmine, still with her garden gloves on. Ella had been in the other room, fixing the bonsai tree she had recently gotten from Edward.

"Can't you see that I'm upset?" Jasmine raised her voice. She was annoyed by Ella's question.

Ella gave her daughter a puzzled look, then she walked over to Jasmine and sat down on the sofa next to Jasmine. "Shouldn't you be happy?" She was surprised. "Today, you went out with Edward to the jewelry store, right? You said that yesterday. "Did Edward suddenly cancel the event?"

Jasmine clenched her jaw, her teeth closing so tightly that there was a grinding sound. "Edward is a trashy guy, don't mention his name. Hearing that pisses me off!" She clenched her hands together.

"What do you mean?" Ella was increasingly unable to understand what Jasmine was saying. "Isn't Edward the right person? He is rich, handsome, and from a respectable family, and he can give her what she wants. What's the problem?"

Jasmine's ears heated up at the compliment given by Ella. She quickly woke up and sat properly facing her mother. It was true that Edward had once been that good for them, but not anymore. Right now, Edward is not that great of a choice.

"Edward is not that great of a person. Do you know what happened today?" Her eyebrows moved up. She was really upset.

Jasmine made Ella even more curious. Ella took off the garden gloves she was wearing. Putting it on the table and sitting forward to listen to Jasmine. "What happened?" The old woman could not stand gossip, which had become a habit.

"He can only afford to buy me a two-million-dollar necklace." Jasmine rolled her eyes as she said that and sounded frivolous as she mentioned the amount. While Ella leaned back and covered her mouth in disbelief.

"Two million dollars?" The woman squealed in surprise. She punched Ella's arm. "Just you said? You couldn't even get more than that before, but you underestimated it?" She wanted so badly to squeeze the mouth of Jasmine, who could not appreciate that much money as if it was worth nothing.

Jasmine looked at her with narrowed eyes. She knew her mother's nature very well. Not much different from herself, her mother was also a materialistic person. She also uses high comparisons in judgment.

Jasmine snorted in annoyance, holding her hand.

"What are you doing?!" Ella snapped back at her. "How could you call him trash just for giving you a 2 million dollar necklace? 'Just,' you say?." he averted his gaze, then returned his glare to her. "Do you think that Richard, you married could give you that much? Even the expensive stuff you got from her is only worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and that's only a quarter!"

"You know what?" Jasmine shot him a look of angry annoyance. Her chest was literally on fire. "Richard can buy me dozens of times more than that, even hundreds of times more." She spoke in a low but sharp tone.

Her mother snorted with laughter. "What are you talking about?" She couldn't believe it. "How could someone like Richard, who only lives in this house and trades fish at the market, give you that much? "It doesn't make sense." The woman used her logic and refused to believe in that nonsense.

Of course she wouldn't believe it. He would believe it more if the company Jasmine built went bankrupt suddenly than if Richard became rich suddenly after leaving them.

"But it's true." She looked at her mother seriously, making the staring Ella feel that something wrong was happening. Her heart suddenly became troubled. "Richard showed up at the same jewelry store as me, and he bought a 30 million dollar necklace." Jasmine sounded convincing.

Jasmine's face instantly changed. She was also very surprised by how Richard could suddenly have that much money. It seemed very unlikely. But she witnessed it herself. She saw that Richard had indeed changed.

"No kidding." Ella denied it. She didn't want to believe even though Jasmine seemed to be telling the truth. "You are sick, aren't you? How could Richard afford such an expensive necklace." She thought of other possibilities that could have made Richard bead in that place.

"It could be that Richard works with someone, and that person told him to buy things there." Even if it sounded impossible to Ella, who would believe someone who had only been working for a few days with that much money?

Jasmine hissed in frustration. "No." She said it firmly. "Richard is already rich. I saw it with my own eyes." She pointed at her eyes. "He has a black card that we don't have. In addition, he also rides a Roll-Royce and has a private driver. He has truly become a rich man." Jasmine was excited to tell him, her heart beating fast as she realized what was happening before her.

"Are you sure you didn't see wrong?" Ella confirmed it.

"I am sure," Jasmine answered him firmly. "The car was right in front of me, and what made me even more sure that the wealth was his was the 30 million necklace, and he looked so relaxed." Jasmine put down the piece of the necklace that was only a small part of the whole.

Ella now believed her. "So you are going back with Richard now?" She asked enthusiastically. Who would have thought Richard the fishmonger would suddenly become rich?

Jasmine looked grim, the memory of which made her very angry. "No, I'm not. "Because of Richard, I left Edward, but after I did that, Richard didn't want to go back with me. He tricked me." Jasmine growled, her hands clenched tightly, showing her veins clearly.

Ella spontaneously hit her. "You idiot! What are you doing?" She scolded Jasmine. "How could you lose both? Now, what are you going to do, huh?" Ella's face turned red with anger.

Jasmine gave her an angry look. "Why do you keep hitting me?" She screamed. "It's not my fault that things turned out this way. "I didn't know it would end like this either. It's all mom's fault." She gave Ella a sharp look. "You always asked me to divorce Richard. If you hadn't kept asking me, then Richard would still be with me now and we would be rich."

Ella was stunned. All this time, Jasmine would not listen to her and always made her own decisions, but suddenly, she was saying that her personal decisions were her fault. "You're blaming mom? You were the one who never listened to me. So why did you suddenly change your decision? It was your fault."

Jasmine looked at her with wide-open, piercing eyes. Then she screamed with force, "aaaa this make me stress!" Her hand swept across the table in front of her, making the vase made of porcelain fall and break.

On the other hand, at his residence, Richard was sitting sipping wine prepared by Smith. He took a sip of the wine slowly and savored its sweetness. Then she glanced at Smith, who was standing nearby. "Did you do what I told you to do?" He placed his glass on the table, and Smith, who saw it, immediately filled the empty glass with more wine.

"Of course, master. I already did. Right now, he's probably screaming frantically." Smith looked at him and noticed that Richard seemed to be smiling contentedly.

As Smith said, panic was indeed brewing at Edward's residence. Once he returned to his home, he found it tense. His entire family is gathered there. "What's going on?" Edward asked his father.

"The company is in trouble." His father answered, his face looking very depressed. "The company's stock dropped suddenly." Edward was certainly shocked to hear that.

He approached his father immediately, not only his father at the table but also his grandfather and uncle, who had a stake in the company. "How so?" He looked at them one by one.

"It's all because of the Marisson family." His uncle clenched his fists, looking very angry. "They did this as a warning to us." He then bowed his head, realizing their helplessness in that matter.

Edward did not understand why the Marissons were suddenly involved. "But we never did anything to annoy them, which is why it's a problem." Unbeknownst to hi,, his voice rose to demand further answers.

"It's all because of you." His uncle stared intently at Edward.

Richard looked confused. "Me?" He pointed at himself. "What did I do?" He didn't understand what they meant.

"Why are you asking me that you know what you did wrong!" She snapped at Edward. "The Marrison family gave their warning for your actions because of your actions. The stock investors also withdrew their funds." He frustratingly banged his hand on the table. "If this continues, our family could be completely ruined."

"Dad!" Edward shouted, banging his hands on the table in frustration, his head throbbing in pain, remembering the many things that happened to him today. "This can't be happening. I didn't do anything." He looked at his father. "Dad, I didn't do anything to disturb them."

His father gave him a sharp look. "You son of a bitch!" His father slapped Edward so hard that he fell. "Because of you, the company I built with my efforts is in trouble. Get the fuck out! Get out of this house!" He threw a small vase at Edward, but it didn't hit him.

Edward was stunned in his place, staring at his father. He only remembered that he annoyed one person, and that was Richard. "There's no way that hobo Richard is the son of the Marrison family." He muttered, incredulous.
