123 – THE ATTACK

Luke froze for a moment, completely astounded as he listened to McGregor go on and on about Fiona and the Hemsworths.

His already accelerating heartbeat pounded even faster and he clenched his fingers tightly by his side, trying to quell the urge to throw something across the room.

“How the fuck was Humsworth released on bail?” He finally asked, already feeling murderous. “His trial is not over yet. Why was he released?”

“I don’t know why or how he was released, sir, but I suspect that Fiona’s father had a hand in it. We’re all aware that he and Humsworth are very good friends. I think he meandered somehow and got him out.”
