ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO – SHOCKED, NOT SHOCKED

Luke shot to his feet and paced his office with his cellphone clutched so tightly in his palm, it nearly cracked.

“If you know who did it, spill the tea already, Detective. The suspense is killing me.”

“Okay, sir. I resumed my investigation yesterday by going straight to the website which first carried the news. After a few hours of throwing my weight around and asking questions, I finally discovered that a website called: Entertainment Gists Weekly was the first to publish the story at exactly ten PM yesterday.

I requested a meeting with its manager but he refused to meet me. I finally had to use my badge as leverage before he could grant me an interview.

That interview was via conference call and just from looking at him, the man was already shaking in his boots.

I could tell that he was scared, so I promised him protection. I assured him that once he gave me the perpetrator’s name, he’ll be under your special protection.
