ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE – THREATS

Luke watched as the Minister exited his office, his mind still reeling from the sudden turn of events.

He sank into his chair and looked up to the ceiling, already imagining all the horrible ways his grandfather would have expressed his disappointment if he hadn’t landed the deal.

He was completely lost in thought when he sensed movements right in front him. He shot upwards immediately and managed to push Fiona away just in the nick of time, stopping her from sitting on his lap.

“Ow, Luke!” She moaned as she tried to regain her balance. “You hurt me!”

Luke rolled his eyes to the heavens. He could already feel his annoyance start to build.

“You and I both know I didn’t push you that hard. And what the hell were you trying to do?”

She pouted and folded her arms like a spoilt little brat.

“I just wanted to sit on my husband’s lap. Am I wrong for wanting to do that?”

He stared at her incredulously.
