125 – THE CONFRONTATION (II)

David Humsworth was nervous.

It was evident from his shaky fingers and the sweat that poured down his face in buckets, despite the fact that the AC currently blasted at full speed.

Luke took one threatening step forward and noticed the panic in David’s cowardly eyes as he immediately skirted backwards.

Luke paused and smirked.

“What does that popular Bible portion say?” He pretended to think for a few seconds, then he snapped his fingers like he just remembered something vital.

“Yes! The wicked runneth when no one pursueth. I came forward to give your father a handshake but you’re already running away in fear? Why the hell are you running if you did nothing wrong?”

David squared his shoulders in false bravado and opened his mouth to speak but his father hurriedly cut in;

“You have no business being here, Luke, and neither will you be getting any handshakes from me. Leave right now. And stay the hell away from my son.”
