The plane finally landed in London at thirty minutes past six PM, which meant work was over for the day. Luke was greatly disappointed because he’d been looking forward to surprising Nina at the office.

Just as he was about to climb into the car, Luke saw Fiona walk to the passenger door.

“Hey. Where do you think you’re going?” He asked, his brows already furrowed with annoyance.

Fiona lifted one shoulder.

“Um… I’m getting in the car. I'm staying at your place, remember?”

Luke closed his door and turned to face her fully.

“You stay at my place? Really? Have you forgotten that your father went back home and your mother followed suit after the police were done questioning her? There’s no one waiting for you at the cottage, Fiona. Your own parents are tired of your little games and had to opt out and go home. Yo
