"Huh?"

He turned to her and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. He couldn't believe his ears.

What!? His wife offer to massage his hand? It's really hard to believe her statement because she'd never show him care as a wife ever since they've married as husband and wife.

He wouldn't believe her because it was a contract marriage. He didn't plan to but he didn't have choice since the Grandpa chose him for his first elder daughter.

"So what do you think?"her soft voice brought him out of his thoughts.

He looked up and swallowed the lump that formed in his throat. She is serious. He thought.

Although he's yet to recover from the shock, he nodded his head affirmatively to her statement.

"Yes…"though he wanted to speak firmly but his voice shook the moment he uttered the word.

He can't possibly lose the chance. A massage from his wife.

"Okay. Wait while I get the balm,"she said, stood up from the chair and walked to the cabinet on the floor.

He couldn't believe his eyes as she returned back with a balm in her palm.

Georgian, who noticed the look on his face, shook her head with a sigh.

She's not suprised that he looks shock by her change of behavior. She didn't understand also.

She can't explain why she suddenly want to be with him. She can't describe the feeling, it's something she couldn't understand.

"Bring your hand closer,"she sat on the wooden chair beside him and held his hand.

He watched her closely as she rubbed the substance gently on his left burned wrist.

He whined as she massaged the wrist with her palm. "Sorry,"his heart skipped a bit as she muttered the word.

He smiled inwardly as he stared at her intensely. He couldn't stop staring at her even though he tried to take his eyes away from her.

This is the first time he would ever be close with her, and this made his body react somehow.

His body shook subconsciously as she rubbed her soft hand on his wrist, a cold shiver ran down to his spine. Her contact made on his skin made him feel uneasy because he'd never be this close with her.

Although it's almost impossible, he wish there's more to their marriage than this.

He want her to see him as his real husband not for contract but for love.

"I'm done,"she said, exhaled and stood up from the chair.

"Thanks,"he muttered. He smiled inwardly as he stared at his wrist.

He wish she never stop massaging his wrist.

He wonder when he would ever be close to her.

He shrugged off the thoughts from his head as he stood up from the chair. He walked to his small wardrobe which was beside his wife gigantic closet.

She changes her wardrobe outfit every month while he manages the clothes he has been using for months.

He brought out thick blanket from tnt wardrobe and closed it. He yawned as he stood beside the bed.

He stopped abruptly when he was about to spread the blanket on the floor. She called him.

"What are you trying to do?"

He was confused by her question that he'd to raise his head and look at her. Why is she asking him such question?

"I want to sleep,"he replied, his hand at the hem of the blanket.

"You can't sleep on the floor,"she replied curtly, and he looked up.

"Huh?"he blinked his eyes.

"What do you mean?"he couldn't help but ask her that question because he has been sleeping on the floor while she sleeps on the bed.

So why is she permitting not to sleep on the floor? Does she want to send him out of the house in the middle of the night?

This disturbed his mind badly.

"I mean you… I think you should sleep on the bed with me…"she muttered, and he looked up in an instant.

"What!?" A soft gasped escaped from his lips.

He couldn't hide the shock anymore.

Few minutes ago, she massaged his wrist, and now she wants him to sleep on the bed with her for the first time.

What's wrong? What happened? Why does it seems like she suddenly changed?

"I mean it wouldn't be good to sleep on the bare floor especially with your injured wrist,"shw defended herself even though she knows her excuse wasn't genuine.

Smith couldn't help but stare at her intensely.

Georgia couldn't tell what's wrong with her. She just suddenly want him beside him. She crave for him. Even though she try to fight against the feeling but it seems almost impossible to resist it.

"Oh! Okay,"he agreed reluctantly even though it felt weird.

He climbed on the bed and lay on it. It feels so soft and succulent. He couldn't remember when last he'd slept on the bed.

He somehow found it out to sleep with his wife, Georgia, on the bed. His head was filled with different thoughts.

Next day

"This is the results for your test,"the doctor said as he stretched the white paper to her.

Regarding the look on his face, she collected the paper from him harshly. She gasped out in shock after reading the content of the paperwork.

What!

*PREGNANT TEST

POSITIVE*

She couldn't believe her eyes as she read the bold heading of the paper given to her.

How? That was the first question that came to her mind. She haven't had anything with any man after she married Smith.

She turned her gaze to her flat stomach.

"Congratulations Mrs Georgia,"

"You're going to be a mother very soon,"

Her heart shook in fear as she read the lips of the doctor.

She actually thought she'd lost her sense of reading until the doctor congratulated her.

"Are you sure the symptoms are for a pregnant woman?"she asked, finding it hard to believe the doctor.

"Of course, it is," he said, and her heart skipped in fear.

Her face turned pale and cold after getting the affirmation of the doctor.

"Thank you,"she muttered with a low and cracked voice. She clenched the paper to her chest.

"What's wrong with you Mrs Georgia?"

She didn't bother to answer the doctor as she walked out of the office.

*

"Why do you call for such impromptu meeting?"

She swallowed hard as madam Kate asked in a cold and authoritative tone.

The courage she felt walked earlier suddenly left her after noticing the stares of her parents on her.

How could she tell the family that she's pregnant for Ethan?

She wonder how she would he able to break the news to her parents and grandma before the entire family.

"I'm sure you know you're delaying your grandma,"her mother reminded her in a cold voice.

She took a deep breath and said.

"I… I'm pregnant,"

And if they humiliated him like they used to, he would not take it to his heart since he's used to their insult and abuse all day. He suddenly stopped as he came closer to their room. • Chapter 272: Ember Scales Of The Dragon Fruit 2

The enchanted forest stood a magnificent tree unlike any other. Its towering trunk was thick and gnarled, its sprawling branches covered in shimmering emerald leaves that glowed faintly under the moonlight. This was the Dragon’s Bounty, a tree of legend, said to bear the rarest of fruits—twin dragon fruits, each a marvel of nature. These fruits, known as the Ember Scales also known as the Dragon Fruit, resembled the hide of a slumbering dragon. Their outer skin was layered with hardened, overlapping scales in deep crimson and fiery gold, glistening as if embers pulsed beneath. The scales were tough to the touch, yet when peeled away, they revealed a luscious, glowing core of translucent nectar. The fruit’s flesh, infused with the energy of the tree’s ancient magic, shimmered like molten amber, releasing a sweet, intoxicating aroma that carried hints of wild honey and exotic spices.Legends spoke of those fortunate enough to taste the Ember Scales, claiming the fruit granted temporary
