Avery snorted, "The proposition. I read it and kept wondering why Hayes Holdings was interested in our investment. According to what I've discovered, you don't need my money. So, why are you pursuing this?," He explained.

Nathan had not anticipated to hear that question from Avery. He had expected a question about the deal, perhaps, the profit cut that dual investments was getting from the deal, or something else, but not this.

Nathan snorted. "You don't think I'm doing this for the benefit of both our companies?" He asked.

That was always the first priority. To check how the deal was going to favor Hayes Holdings. If they didn't stand to benefit at all, believe it, Nathan wouldn't have even gone after dual investment in the first place; Hidden agenda or not.

Avery arched his brow as if he didn't believe what Nathan had said. He chuckled dryly, taking a cursory look around before focusing on Nathan.
