Scott’s POV

Scott frowned as he felt a shudder run down his spine. “What are you talking about? The accident ten years ago? How is that possible? My father makes sure the cars are always in great condition, especially Nathan’s ride…” he muttered.

It had taken their father several begging and pleading for him to get Nathan a car, so the man made sure that the cars were always in good condition to prevent any malfunction.

Hayden ran his hand over his hair. “Well, it wasn’t,” he murmured, opening the folder for Scott to examine. He saw images of something he couldn’t make sense of.

Even though Scott knew it was the accident scene because he had been there, he had seen it, but he didn’t know what he should be looking at.

“What am I looking at?” he said, peering at the photographs.

Detective Hayden pointed at one of the photographs and said, “This is the car brake system. Do you see this cut made here? It’s smooth and not normal. We checked it out in the lab and discovered that it was cu
