Chapter 55

Peter had planned to sort things out with Annabelle, before talking to Imelda about their long dispute.

He could not wait to settle, and reunite with his lovely wife, and daughter. For years, he endured all the pain—memories of how happy they were, the laughter and every other thing they shared. He really missed them. Words could not convey how much he had missed them.

Annabelle smiled to bed. She was happy, for the first time, since her mother moved in with her. Now, she had a complete family. That was her happiness—seeing her family complete, again.

She was going to have a peaceful night. She slid into the bed, and covered herself up to the neck with the duvet, hugging her pillow.

Immediately Annabelle's door shut close, Imelda hugged Peter, leaving Peter in a state of shock.

Peter had never expected such action from her. It happened so fast that his brain could not process what was going on, and as such, he could not hug her back. He just stood still like a statue.
