Chapter 14 - A man of his word

Noah Taylor, a kind and warm person, at least that's how the world has known him.

'There can't be anything more contrast than that', Thought Linda seeing Noah Taylor in midst of the reporters.

With black hair and brown eyes, he was quite a good-looking man, who would leave a good impression at first sight! But the reality couldn't be any further...

He was an outcast among the Taylors, being born as the second child of Vincent Taylor's third wife, he was treated as a worthless tool.

All the nine children of Vincent Taylor, except Noah, were genius who excelled in various fields. He was like a rotten apple amidst the fruits, though the apple may seem like a luxury for commoners, a rotten fruit nonetheless was disregarded.

Even though he was a C-rank hunter at the age of 25, he wasn't given any attention by his father or family. It was precisely because he was overshadowed by the monstrous talent of his siblings. Amidst his monstrous siblings, he was seen as nothing but ordinary.

 And that's when Roger entered the scene.

A weak, non-awakened man as a husband of his S-rank awakened sister. 

Seeing someone weaker than him among his family, gave him a kind of relief. He who was oppressed by his siblings, for the first time found joy in the feeling of trampling over others.

At first, it was just because he found someone weaker than him, but as the days continued, he started to beat up Roger for fun. It was to the point that beating Roger had become a form of entertainment for him!

"Look who is here, if it isn't my dear Brother-in-law?"

Noah exclaimed seeing Roger who was walking towards the association and said with a warm smile on his face.

Roger who heard him stopped in his tracks.

'Damn!'

He cursed as his plan to go in without his notice failed.

He casually turned around trying to maintain his calm, but as soon as he faced Noah who was now coming toward him, he was shocked!

The 8th son of Taylor, although he has a considerable amount of talent, being born among the Taylors had made his performance overshadowed by his siblings, he has a deep hate for his siblings whom he believes to be the ones, the reason for his situation and sufferings, A hyena born among the Tigers.

The status window! it appeared again!

His skill "The Eye of Vengeance" was invoked once again without his will.

'So that was the reason why he was beating me...'

Roger thought as he read through the status window, he always thought that the reason Noah was acting like that was that he couldn't accept the fact that his sister married someone ordinary like Roger, but to think it wasn't because of that but rather due to his inferiority complex.

'I suddenly feel a little sympathetic for him'

Only a genius could understand a genius and likewise, only a loser can understand another loser.

Anyway, Roger brushed off the status window and gave a fake smile to Noah who was just steps ahead of him.

"My dear Brother-in-law!"

Noah smiled broadly as he hugged Roger.

Roger too hugged him back as so many cameras were on them right now, whatever may they have in between them, the image of Taylors should never be tarnished among the society or else their heads may roll the next day!!

"I was told that you went on a vacation, I have been bored without you...brother..in..law"

Noah whispered in his ears as he continued "I forgot to ask you, but why are you here today? don't tell me you decided to help your wife while recruiting this irregular into her faction:"

In the silent war for inheriting Lord Taylor's assets, The children of Taylors made their own factions and strengthened them for the day to come when they fight!

It was the sad truth that the siblings born to the same father would end up fighting each other, but nothing could be done!

Roger was silent to his provocations, he just kept a smile on his face as he looked at the cameras.

"You know why I beat you up all the time? It's because of that damn smile on your face, that wouldn't leave even when your face becomes a bloody mess"

Likewise, Noah was also whispering while hugging him with one hand and smiling at the cameras.

"Now that I have met my sweet brother-in-law after so many days, we are bound to have some fun, meet me at my car parking...or else....."

he was about to say something when his secretary beside him intervened, "Sir, an urgent call!" He said while sweating profusely.

Roger who was looking at the cameras turned his head to face Noah with even a wide grin on his face, "I know you are thinking about beating me again brother-in-law, but if you don't leave now, you may receive a beating from someone else"

He said looking at the phone in Noah's secretory hand.

The smile on Noah's face disappeared all of sudden.

In the last year, no matter how much he beat Roger up never once has he had the courage to talk back to him but now.....He was talking back to him!!

He was about to burst out in anger when his secretary intervened again!

"Sir Vincent is on hold!"

The secretory said Sweeting profusely, his face looked terrified that he felt like he would die if he don't hand over the phone to him immediately.

Noah also got shocked! 

The last time his father called him.....wait!...did he ever call him? why was a man like that calling him now? He had too many questions but didn't have the courage to make the man on the other side of the phone wait any longer, so he hurriedly took the phone from his secretary's hand and moved to where his car was parked.

Roger watched the back of frustrated Noah who was leaving and smiled slightly.

"He is a man of his word indeed"

He said remembering the word that his father-in-law said to him, 'Six Months, I will make sure no one in the house of Taylor will disturb you!'

Linda who was beside him heard him, but decided to stay silent!

But Roger moved forward coming closer to the reporters as he said with a wink!

"Wait for the hot news!"
