6. Drama in the Jewelry Store

Emerald Bank would investigate anyone who used a deceptive black card. Aelish was aware of this and worried about Warrick.

Like everyone else, she did not believe her husband had a black card. As far as she knew, Emerald Bank would only invite customers with a minimum spend of $250,000 annually.

Warrick's salary as a salesman was doubtful as it depended on sales targets. Aelish knew for sure that he could not possibly have $250,000.

Aelish wanted to prevent Warrick, but she was too late, as her husband had already approached a helper.

"Can you tell me about this bracelet?" asked Warrick, pointing to a rose gold bracelet with an eagle engraved on it.

Eunice, the helper, believed there was no use in discussing the bracelet's value because Warrick was unlikely to buy it. But to maintain her professionalism, she was forced to explain the bracelet.

"This is an 18k rose gold bracelet from last year's Winter Hawk Collection. It is set with diamonds and the chain is 110mm long."

Warrick took a good look at the bracelet before moving on to other jewelry. "Are all the jewelry pieces in this display case from last year's winter collection?"

"Yes, they are," Eunice replied, hoping Warrick would end his gibberish.

"Very well. I'll buy a set of jewelry from this collection."

"Do you mean you want to buy a ring, bracelet, necklace, brooch, and earrings all at once?"

"Yes. The rose gold color ones."

Eunice glanced at her supervisor, not knowing what to do. Meanwhile, Evie and Jane cracked up at Warrick's statement.

"This loser guy has completely lost his mind!" Jane scoffed at Warrick without hesitation. "You didn't even ask about the price. You think you can afford it all?"

Warrick did not respond to Jane's insults. He handed his black card to Eunice, "I'll pay for everything with this."

Randall, the supervisor, nodded, and Eunice took all the jewelry Warrick chose.

"Sir, you must have known what the consequences would be if you tried to deceive us," Randall spoke with a smile.

Warrick could sense the threat in Randall's gaze. "If I intended to steal, I wouldn't have come to a fancy jewelry store. That's a stupid move."

Everyone thought Warrick's words made sense. Only a fool would dare to deceive a fine jewelry store and forge a black card.

Still, they doubted Warrick. There was no way a neglected young master like him could hold a black card.

"I know an executive at Emerald Bank," Evie suddenly told Warrick. "If you're caught forging a black card, I'll report you to him!"

Warrick remained silent and made everyone curious. Was he silent out of fear? Or was he confident that his black card was not fake?

Everyone waited for the cashier to process Warrick's order with mixed feelings. Some were excited because they wanted to laugh at Warrick if he was a scammer.

Some thought Warrick really had a black card and turned the tables. They knew that ridiculous idea had a zero percent chance, but the drama between Warrick and the Chafort family would be exciting if he secretly had a lot of money.

At the same time, the cashier stared at the computer screen with trembling pupils. She still doubted the authenticity of Warrick's black card. But the successful payment showed that it was indeed genuine.

Black card owners received exclusive privileges from Hawk. Any purchase of jewelry sets would receive a 5% discount and 10% for those registered as members.

On the computer screen, it was remarked that Warrick was getting a 5% discount. That could only mean one thing. The man really had a black card!

"What's wrong?" Jane noticed the change in the cashier's expression. She grinned, thinking she had won.

Evie thought the same as her daughter. "I knew it! It must be a fake card. I'll call customer service to get this scammer punished!"

The cashier snapped out of her shock. She shouted frantically at Evie, "Don't do it, Ma'am! This man's black card is not fake."

The entire store went silent. The employees who were explaining jewelry to customers ceased to talk.

A few customers dropped the jewelry they were holding by accident. They instantly stated, panicked, that they would purchase the jewelry they had dropped.

Evie and Jane were silent for a few moments. They both hoped the cashier had made a mistake.

"The payment machine must be broken!" shouted Jane, rushing to the cashier. "Check it again!"

The cashier showed the receipt. "Hawk is a professional company. We wouldn't use a broken payment machine," she reacted angrily.

Then, she gave Warrick the receipt and a jewelry set box.

"Thank you for shopping at our store. You can get many benefits by becoming a member," the cashier explained kindly.

A system notification appeared in the next moment.

"Contact me if you're interested in becoming a member," the cashier spoke again while giving Warrick her business card.

"I'll think about it if my wife wants to become a member."

Aelish said nothing as Warrick turned to her. She just stood still, wearing a 'what just happened?' expression.

"Th-This can't be! You must be using dirty tricks!"

Evie, unable to accept reality, started accusing Warrick.

"I'll report you anyway! Just wait. I'm calling Emerald Bank's customer service."

The drama between Warrick and his in-laws was still not over, even though he had proven the authenticity of his black card.

Evie really reported Warrick to the customer service. She asked the bank to check Warrick's name on the list of black card holders.

The customer service's voice could be heard by everyone since Evie was turning on a loudspeaker.

"I apologize, Ma'am. But I'm afraid I can't fulfill your request. The list of black card holders is very private."

Evie replied in an angry tone, "Hey, someone just made a transaction with a fake black card! Aren't you going to care?"

"Can I get more detailed data? Please give me the card number and the owner's name."

Warrick grabbed Evie's cell phone and spoke, "This is Warrick Rauveron. And that woman earlier accused me of using a fake black card. Can you help me confirm that I'm not a scammer?"

"Of course, Sir. Let me know your full name."

"It's Warrick Rauveron."

"You have not created a keyword to verify your identity. Please state the last four digits of your ID card number."

"It's 3189."

"Let me check first. Since you have told the last four digits of your ID card, you will need to go to the bank to create a new keyword as a verification code."

The customer service paused for a moment before finally saying something. "You are correctly registered to the black card members. Is there any other problem I can help you with?"

Warrick smirked as he looked at Evie and Jane's pale faces.

"I was bothered that someone accused me of using a fake black card. Does the black card no longer have a special design so they can think it's fake? I'm disappointed with Emerald Bank."

"We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced," the customer service sounded worried. "I will pass on your complaint to the responsible department."

"Good. By the way, the woman who accused me is Evie Chafort. She said she knows an executive at Emerald Bank."

Evie snatched her cell phone from Warrick's hand and hurriedly turned off the call.

"What are you doing? Why did you mention my name?!"

Warrick tilted his head. "I just told the truth. Can't your friends at Emerald Bank clean up the mess you made?"

Evie cursed Warrick silently. Her claim that she had an executive acquaintance was a lie. She had not a single connection at Emerald Bank.

Since Warrick had mentioned Evie's name to customer service, Emerald Bank would definitely contact her later!
