Everyone was staring at Ling Shui’s hazy figure in the golden aura that was radiating from his body.

It was only after a couple of minutes did the golden light started to fade.

Everyone watched as Ling Shui slowly opened his eyes and stood up. At a calm and leisurely pace, he walked out of the Ancient Treasure Palace’s barrier not even sparing a glance at anyone.

The crowd of disciple’s part like the red sea as Ling Shui walked by them. Shen Long and Chenguang were some distance away looking at him, their eyes were flashing as several thoughts ran through their heads.

All of a sudden, Shen Long dashed forward, even with the halberd on his shoulders he was like lightning in the night sky, abrupt and fast, extremely fast.

In less than a second, he left a deep footprint where he was standing, before appearing in front of Ling Shui.

None of the disciples had noticed when Shen Long made his move, only when they saw him suddenly appearing in front of Ling Shui were they taken aback.

Ling Shui paused his steps and looked at Shen Long with a raised eyebrow.

“Shen Long, what is the meaning of this?” Ling Shui asked.

Shen Long gave Ling Shui a penetrating gaze before he asked in a grim tone.

“Ling Shui, what type of technique did you receive from the Ancient Treasure Palace?”

As Shen Long asked that question, every disciples’ ears in the crowd perked up.

They all wanted to know as well, but none of them had dared to ask Ling Shui. But seeing as how Shen Long had asked and had even blocked Ling Shui’s path, they all got excited because maybe Ling Shui would reveal what type of ancient technique he had gotten.

Whether it was a Daoist magic spell or a cultivation method, and what grade it was at.

As everyone listened on to hear Ling Shui’s answer they all became disappointed by his words.

“What’s it to you, do you think I’m obligated to tell someone like you that?”

Shen Long’s eyes turn cold upon hearing that.

“Ling Shui, don’t get too full of yourself because you’re the young master of the Soul River Clan. Even if you are, you’re not getting past me until you tell me what ancient technique you received.”

Ling Shui’s once calm eyes suddenly became cold and indifferent.

“Are you threatening me? Do you think a weakling like you from the Barbarian Sect is enough to be a threat to me?”

Everyone held their breaths as they watch Ling Shui and Shen Long exchange words. They were rather excited to see a fight between the both of them.

Ling Shui was hail as a genius within the Soul River Clan, and not only was he well known for his amazing cultivation talents, he was also well known for being the eldest son of the Soul River Clan’s patriarch.

Ever since he began cultivating, his name had rung throughout the entire Wu Continent. At the age of only eighteen, he had already stepped into the early-stage of the Core Formation realm.

But even then his fame didn’t end there, when entering the Core Formation realm Ling Shui had shocked everyone again by gaining a deviant natural attribute.

The most common attributes among Core Formation cultivators were the six elements, water, fire, earth, wood, metal, and wind.

These six elements contain elemental laws that are the most basic building blocks that make up the structure of heaven and earth. When these laws are in balance with each other, so are the heavens, if not, then yin will become yang, and yang will become yin, throwing the world into chaos.

However, these elements can produce stronger more powerful ‘deviants elements or laws’. For example, by freezing water, the elemental laws of ice can be made, and from earth elemental laws, gravitational laws can be produced.

Though these deviant laws originate from the five elements, the rarity of a cultivator possessing one on planet Daiyu could be said to be astronomical, probably a one in a million.

That’s why everyone was so shocked when Ling Shen gained the elemental laws of ice as his attribute. This had instantly made him known as a genius among geniuses.

But with all of that said, those six elements and their deviant laws are just the basics. Legends have it, that there are other more powerful laws out there known as ethereal laws. The six elements and their Deviant laws could be said to be corporeal laws, ethereal laws were laws such as space and time. No one knows if it was possible for a cultivator to gain such elemental laws as their natural attribute, as planet Daiyu has no such person in their records.

Whether there was such a person on the other stronger planets, who knows.

But enough with the mythical legends, the fact that Ling Shui had elemental laws of ice as his golden core attribute, gave him enough confidence to look down on Shen Long.

Though, Shen Long is not to be underestimated, as a talented Conclave disciple of the Barbarian Sect, the fame to his name was no less than Ling Shui.

He cultivated one of the two Barbarian Sect’s Legacy Techniques, the Tyrannical Demon God Body to the fifth stage, thus giving him the combat power of early-stage Core Formation realm expert.

This had shocked the Barbarian Sect to no end, as he was the first to accomplish it. The difficulty in going down the path of a fleshly body cultivator made everyone avoid it all together.

So there weren’t many people like Shen Long that had cultivated their fleshly body to rival a Qi practitioner at the early Core Formation realm.

One reason why people found it difficult to traverse the path of a fleshly body cultivator, was the hellish torture one’s body has to endure through each step of the way. Another reason why, is that by becoming a fleshly body cultivator, most people would have to give up on Spiritual Qi cultivation.

The fleshly body path was like a whole other system of cultivation outside of Spiritual Qi cultivation. In its initial stages, while that person is putting their body through hell, they have to watch their peers cultivate amazing techniques and surpass them in strength as they break through bottlenecks after bottlenecks.

But if they can persevere through all that then in the future, their accomplishments might not be any less amazing as a Spiritual Qi cultivator.

A talented and powerful individual like Shen Long is the proof of that.

---

As the crowd of disciples watched the two legendary figures face-off, they could feel the tension between them building up.

“So what if I am, do you think I’m scared of you?”

Shen Long said that with slight mockery in his voice.

Ling Shui remained expressionless in front of Shen Long before he said, “I’ll give you to the count of three to move aside.”

As soon as Ling Shui said that, he began counting.

“1..”

All the disciples who were close by suddenly started backing away at rapid speeds. If a battle was about to happen between these two they didn’t want to be anywhere within the vicinity.

The only person who remained standing where they were, was the beautiful Chenguang. In the face of these two men going head to head, she did not show an ounce of caution or fear.

As the hundred or so disciples retreated a hundred meters away, Ling Shui’s voice echoed out again.

“2..”

Ling Shui’s eyes narrowed into slits as he looked at Shen Long.

Shen Long had a cold grin on his face while he met Ling Shui’s gaze. His posture was relaxed as he stood there with the huge halberd on his shoulder.

A dangerous light flash within Ling Shui’s eyes, as his cold voice echoed once more.

“3…”

“Shen Long, since you insist on provoking me then you better not regret it later.”

As soon as Ling Shui spoke those words, a terrifying amount of Spiritual Qi erupted from his body. As the Spiritual Qi spread into the surrounding area, everything became a frozen wasteland. The hard ground and the nearby boulders became ice sculptures.

Even from a hundred feet away, the disciples still felt a bone freezing aura that wash over them, causing some parts of their clothes to be covered in a layer of frost.

Letting out screams of shock and terror those disciples retreated further away.

As Ling Shui aura batted against Shen Long, it seem to be blocked by a force field that surround his body. That force field held strong as the ever-increasing frigid aura of Ling Shui’s Spiritual Qi batted against it.

Shen Long then snorted before he responded to Ling Shui’s earlier words.

“I, Shen Long, never regret my decisions.”

“Try saying that again after this battle.”

As Ling Shui said that, he casually took a step forward, that single casual step seemed to be a signal for Ling Shui’s Spiritual Qi to rush forward.

This attack by Ling Shui wasn’t a Daoist magic spell, but the sheer pressure of his Spiritual Qi. As it crashed down on Shen Long from above, the power of it was no less than a full blow from someone who had just entered the early Core Formation realm.

As Ling Shui’s attack approach him, Shen Long lifted the massive halberd and slashed down vertically.

Shen Long’s halberd slash split Ling Shui’s overpowering and terrifying Spiritual Qi in two and continued towards Ling Shui.

Ling Shui’s movements didn’t stop, as he took another step causing the frigid Spiritual Qi surrounding him to form an ice wall, blocking Shen Long’s slash.

After a few moments, Shen Long’s voice echoed out across the battlefield.

“Ling Shui, in our last match it resulted in a draw between us. Now that I have gained a Supreme-grade treasure, even though I am unable to bring out its full power, my overall combat ability has significantly increased. If you only rely on the techniques you used in our previous match, you will undoubtedly lose to me. The only possibility you have of putting up a fight against me is if you reveal the ancient technique you received from the Ancient Treasure Palace!!”

As Shen Long’s voice boomed out, Ling Shui's indifferent voice responded, “We’ll see about that.”

Hey there my lovely readers, I made mistake and said five elements when I meant six. Sorry.

Another disciple who was close by responded, “From the words young master Ling Shui spoke, this must be the spell he received from the Ancient Treasure Palace.” As soon as that disciple said those words, another disciple quip in a perplexed tone. “But didn’t young master just receive the spell? If I did, then there would have been no point in me cultivating my Tyrannical Demon God body.” Ling Shui frowned upon hearing that.
