Chapter 2

There was as though his last ray of hope was shattered right before him as he continued to stare at her, trying to figure out things in his head.

"Lena?" He thought in his head.

His head spun around only to notice that the man that was standing at the edge of the bed was the town's rising billionaire, Mr. Clarke

He gritted his teeth with so much anger. Meanwhile, Lena was shocked staring right into the eyes of her husband, her face flooded with so much embarrassment.

"What are you doing here?" She finally braised up.

He could not allow her husband to watch her disorganized even for a single bit. Not when he was a worthless fool.

"I just asked you a simple question, what are you doing here?" They came out from her like stabs without even a single trace of emotion on her face.

"What am I doing here? Is that an apology or what? Is this the office that you are working at? And to even think that you had to do it on our wedding anniversary? Have you no shame?" Multiple came out from him as he walked towards them almost immediately.

"Have I no shame?" A burst of laughter came out of her mouth as she stood up from the bed with the sheets wrapped around her chest.

"Shouldn't be the one that I should be asking that question? A lady clothes you and puts a roof over that damn head of yours."

"Since we got married, what have you ever done for me apart from bringing me shame and disgrace?" She spat on the floor with so much disgust.

"But you said that we were going through this together."

"Aren't you such a fool?" She scoffed

"How long did you think that I would be able to put up with a disgraceful husband like you? Aren't even worth being amongst dogs, they despise you."

"And I am so grateful that I have found a real man."

"And what do you mean?"

"I'm getting married to someone else. A real man of a type that is going to push my progress, not someone that is going to hinder him."

The words struck him like a straight flash of lightning as he continued to stare at her for a while.

"You aren't going to do that. We are married and you can't get married to someone else."

"I can't. You are such a fool, aren't you? Have you forgotten that our marriage was a contract? Renewal after two years?

Well if you have forgotten, let me remind you. This marriage ended two months ago and I don't want another two years of disgrace."

He stared at Clarke and his eyes returned to him. He knew that there was no love for him in those eyes anymore. Chasing someone who doesn't love him.

Pairing into her his, he could tell that she was already intoxicated by the love that she had for the billionaire and there was no place for him in her heart

It was practically fruitless for him to keep holding on to her.

"You are going to regret this Lena." He waved off the words.

"Regret?" A clap of laughter came from his mouth

"I wonder if you are going to survive a few days on the street. I'm sure that you got sacked, that is why you are here. Good luck on getting sacked again." She laughed at him as he made his way out of the room.

Since he was already done with his shift for that day, he signed out and walked away from the place.

He walked aimlessly in the street. Without a trace of where he was going to stay.

"That was the last person that I thought loved me." He could feel the pain pushing through his eyes so he pushed them back.

Right from the day that he was born, they had always referred to him as a bastard.

His mother informed him that his father Abused her and chased her away, almost destroying her life and that was the reason that she hated him so much.

And his stepfather. He was like a torn under his flesh and he was happy to have left them and got married to Lena. But…

Sighs

He finally got a bench at the far end of the street and he fell on it. His hands supported his jaws with his heart racing fast as another slight sigh escaped from his Lips.

The pain of the heartbreak seems to be renewed even more than it was already. The only one who had ever loved him since he came into this world just dumped him.

He should have known it right from the very beginning, he was not capable of being loved.

While he continued to think, his cell phone made a beeping sound and his heart almost jumped out from his chest.

It has been happening for quite a while now. Owing the bank a whopping sum of one hundred thousand dollars, he was able to forge his collateral.

And this money he had used to start up a business for Lena.

He seemed to have forgotten about the betrayal all of a sudden. If by any means he was caught, he would be in a hell lot of trouble than he was already.

"What do I do now?" He thought in his head.

But even with his racing heart, he knew for sure that he had to check what the text message was all about.

He brought out the cell phone from his pocket, praying silently in his heart that this text would not be from his bank.

He opened the message box and his eyes caught up with the message. It was from his bank.

But this time it was somehow strange and different. It was a liquidation

He could tell for sure that the last time he had only a few cents in his account and the only reason that they were left there was because he could not withdraw all the money that he had in his account.

"Could this be a prank?" He thought again, really confused.

His phone made another beeping sound to signify that he had another message.

And this time, it was a credit alert.

"10 million dollars." His phone flew out of his hands almost immediately, his heart beating faster.

"What's going on?" The world that was all around him seemed to pull a stop almost immediately.

His legs shivered as the ran patted his body even harder, sending a cold chill down his spine.

He picked up the phone from the floor and skimmed through the message again to ascertain that it was true and he was not just making all of that his mind and it was still there.

"No, this can't be true." He pinched his skin so hard that a slight groan escaped from his lips.

Then a sound came out from behind making him jump up from the bench almost immediately.
