Chapter 7: His Family Big Secret

So, Marcolin is Watson's subordinate who is ordered to meet Aarav. Marcolin paid the entire payment for Juliana's treatment costs. More precisely, it was Watson who gave the money to Marcolin.

Not only that. What exonerates Aarav from false accusations is Marcolin as well.

Aarav doesn't know where Marcolin can get proof that he is not in the illegal narcotics business. However, Aarav believes that Watson has so much power that he can bring himself out of prison bars.

"You couldn't possibly have connections with someone as important as Watson," said Aarav. Of course, so far Juliana doesn't look like important people in business.

"Mr. Watson," Marcolin corrected in a slightly irritated tone. "You have to address him properly. He's the one who helped you."

Aarav really didn't care to hear Marcolin's orders. He rolled his eyes, between annoyed and lazy.

"Whatever it is, I still call him by name. The most important thing is that I don't call him by names other than his name," argued Aarav.

Marcolin looked at Aarav with annoyance. There was something. However, remembering that Aarav was the one his boss was protecting, Marcolin could only sigh softly.

"However, you have to respect her because she has set you free. Besides, even if you don't believe it, you have to believe that your mother did a service for Mr. Watson."

Hearing that, Aarav was silent for a moment. He was completely confused and unable to digest what was happening in his life. There are too many questions about the fact that it turns out that Juliana, her mother, has connections with the owners of large companies.

Why didn't Juliana say anything to Aarav?

Why has Juliana looked like a poor person who has no connections with rich people?

Aarav exhales in exasperation as he rubs his face. He shook his head.

"Then what will Mr. Watson do after this?" asked Aarav. "Is he going to ask in return thank you for what he did for me?"

"No. He just asked me to take you with me."

"What?" Aarav raised his eyebrows in surprise. "How can I go with someone I don't know?"

As if unaffected by Aarav's protest, Marcolin remained firmly looking at the man.

"This is an order from Mr. Watson who has received the trust from Mrs. Juliana. According to Mrs. Juliana, after the madam dies, there will be many parties who will bring you down. Mr. Watson intends to protect you, Mr. Aarav."

Mr Aarav?

Aarav was getting more and more confused until he accidentally laughed sarcastically. Even himself called 'master'? Really, it felt like the hairs on Aarav's neck prickled instantly after hearing that call.

In all his life, no one had called Aarav using honorifics.

That's why it's hard for Aarav to accept when someone he doesn't recognize suddenly comes. Claiming to be ordered by a big company owner, who turns out to be his mother's connection, then wants to bear his life that has been suffering?

All of this is too preposterous.

Aarav holds his forehead. Not only because the sun was too hot reflecting on his eyes, but also he felt dizzy digesting everything that was happening.

"Wait, wait, give me time to digest everything," said Aarav who complained while gently massaging his own forehead.

Marcolin didn't say anything. Just watching Aarav who looks like a frustrated person.

"I really don't understand. Mr. Watson, whoever it is, I don't know him. And it seems..." Aarav's way of speaking became more slurred because of his nervousness. "He needs to stop expecting me to come with you."

"But Mrs. Juliana gave the mandate, Mr. Aarav."

"Stop calling me sir!" Aarav spontaneously raises his voice because he feels so agitated. "Why do you have to rush me? I lived well for so many years, and I couldn't be with anyone."

Aarav knew he shouldn't be angry with Marcolin. But all the things that confused him now made his mind a bit muddled. Somehow Aarav felt that what was happening now was too unexpected.

It was as if he had been hit repeatedly. Aarav doesn't even know what to feel now.

His mother died, but he was visited by a subordinate of a large company owner.

Aarav's dream is to become a successful businessman. He could take this chance. Unfortunately, he couldn't take the chance when Juliana and Ella had already left him.

"Sir Aarav, however, I am only carrying out an order. Please think carefully about this offer."

In between holding his suddenly dizzy forehead, Aarav laughed sinisterly. "Think carefully about what?" he asked sarcastically. "That's right. Receiving an offer from a large company owner is very good. But, what will I do with this offer when my wife and my mother have left me?"

Marcolin didn't answer while Aarav brushed his messy hair in exasperation.

"I wanted to make them both not have the crappy me, but now they don't exist. Tell me, what for?"

In the end, Aarav knew the emotions he had been holding in since yesterday would explode. Like a ticking time bomb just waiting for the countdown.

"Why should I accept?" asked Aarav, putting his hands on his waist and lifting his chin.

Again, Marcolin was silent and accepted Aarav's anger. His face remained calm as if unaffected.

"Fine. I'll give you time to think, but I'm not canceling the offer," Marcolin said firmly.

Aarav immediately let out a rough breath. Marcolin's firmness is truly undeniable.

"I don't know why you are so stubborn." Aarav ends his words irritated.

Not wanting to engage in conversation with Marcolin for a long time, Aarav immediately nodded his head.

"Fine. You are free to say anything. My answer will still be the same."

After saying his last sentence Aarav decides to leave. Regardless of how Marcolin would react, Aarav glanced at Marcolin with an irritated look, then took a deep breath.

But before Aarav really left, Marcolin suddenly said something again.

"Mr. Aarav. In case you are still unsure, I have something to give you."

Aarav stopped, then turned around and saw Marcolin holding out a brown envelope for documents.

"What's this?" asked Aarav who had not received the document envelope yet.

"Something related to the death of Mr. Gio, your father."

Aarav's brow furrowed. "Father's death?"

Twenty years ago, when he was 11 years old, Aarav did not know why his father was killed by someone and who was the perpetrator of the murder. Then since the death of his father, his family life has been shattered.

"According to Mrs. Juliana, Mr. Gio's death is related to one of the hidden and powerful black organizations. Madam wants you to find out."

"Black organization?" muttered Aarav, still audible Marcolin.

"That's right. Mr. Watson is also targeting this organization. You can work together with Mr. Watson to find out the truth. Isn't your father's death the cause of your life's ruin?"
